After a 4 hour journey we arrived at…read more2.40 pm, saw the Guest house, parked and said as we were early could we use the toilets in our rooms as we had 2 double rooms booked, and then come back later. We were told that we could find public toilets in the town, checkin was 4 -7pm. The sign outside said that they still had vacancies. We are in hospitality ourselves and have never had such a greeting anywhere like this. Cancelled our booking and found alternative accommodation, but have still been charged the full amount for the 2 rooms, although we were never over the door. Cannot comment on the rooms or breakfast but first impression of the the owner/manager was uncompassionate & rude. Bill Spence

There is a lovely sitting room on the first floor with a working wood burning fireplace & very soft, comfortable furniture. It's very peaceful. My room is Spey, a King bedroom with ensuite gorgeous bathroom including a claw foot bathtub & beautifully tiled floors. The owners are a lovely couple. My room had 2 glasses of whiskey as a "tasting". It comes with coffee, tea, hot chocolate, a piece of peppermint chocolate, & a mini fridge with milk & a bottle of water. You get your own bathrobe & slippers. The bed is so cushy & incredibly comfortable, this place is so amazing that if I had known earlier, I would have booked a minimum of 2 nights here. It's absolutely lovely. You must stay here. Plus, it's near Whiskey Alley so if you're in to whiskey, this is the place to be. There are good restaurants just a block or two away. No need to drive. I felt very safe here walking by myself at night. The owners said the police station closed over 20 years ago "because nothing ever happens here. It's completely safe". Up the road I'm told there's a nature area with a rare bird that is only found in that park. Maybe I'll check that out tomorrow. Even if you're not near this area, make a special trip & stay at this exceptional B&B.
