Yellowcab is pretty much the go to place for anyone who is craving pizza! I've been here so many…read moretimes, and I've ordered from them too.. Let me tell you, I've liked every single experience I've had eating food from Yellowcab is always a great one. Being the seafood lover that I am, I usually order their Roasted Garlic & Shrimp pizza and it is pretty much my favorite pizza that Yellowcab offers. My next favorite pizza is their Corona Chicken Salsa pizza! It's pretty much Chicken, tomato and mozarella, and they serve this pizza with slices of lime which you squeeze on the pizza..... and have a taste of one really awesome pizza. I can't put into words how much I love this pizza of theirs! And my third favorite pizza of theirs, when I want to eat something that contains purely vegetable would be the Dear Darla pizza! Other than pizza, my recommendations would be their Twice Baked Potato Halves, their Hot Wings, and their Charlie Chan Chicken Pasta!

Everybody knows how delicious their New York style pizzas are. But Yellow Cab is more than just a…read morepizza place, so this time I would like to rave about their unsung heroes. For starters (literally), their soup is really creamy. My dad prefers the tomato soup while we love the squash. It's not super thick, but they have the right amount of broth and flavor. Then there's the pasta. It usually plays second fiddle to their pizza, but the Charlie Chan Chicken Pasta is really fantastic. The noodles taste good with the sesame oil and nuts. We tried something similar in a more expensive restaurant and it was not nearly as nice. Their baked potato halves is super sinful (potatoes, Mozzarella cheese and BACON) especially when you put sour cream on top, but we love it. This is my family's default place when we can't decide where to eat, or if it's too late and other dining establishments are already closed (they're open 24 hours).

I'm giving Brooklyn 5 red stars because it's one of those pizza establishments that not only serves…read moregreat food, but will also accommodate strange requests from its customers. And by 'strange', I don't mean THAT (I know what you might be thinking...), but rather it's having either pizza with NO CHEESE (because I'm vegan) OR pizza with BRING YOUR OWN CHEESE, that is in the few occasions that I was able to acquire vegan cheese (Daiya mozzarella shreds at Healthy Options). They will gladly use it as a substitute with no hesitations. Price still remains the same, of course. Without cheese, their pizza is still terrific. What I love most about it is the sauce. But, the veggie pizza with the vegan cheese...it's AMAZING. The best thing is that I can eat this without any guilt at all, as no animals were harmed in the creation of this masterpiece! Also, do try their Pomodoro Pasta. I love angel hair pasta, but with that magical tomato sauce it's really flavorful and worth all the carbs.

I have several favorite pizza places, one that I grew up with, one that I go to when I have a little extra and the dark horse- Brooklyn Pizza. I've been coming to this place since it and it has been consistently delicious through the years. I personally like their white cheese and anchovy flavors. I came here recently and ordered the large size with 2 kinds of flavors, all sliced in party cuts. My boyfriend and I finished the entire box to ourselves and swore we'd eat healthier the next day. (Which in our case never happens but at least we talk about it) All in all, I think Brooklyn is one of the few places where you can get the best pizza in town and the (pizza) girl in me swears by it.

Once upon a time, one of my sons paid a visit to my place in Better Living. He brought with him a…read morepizza which he heated in our convection oven, then placed it on the dining table. I took a slice. It was not bad, not bad at all. Since the kid likes to cook, I asked him if he had made the pizza. No, he said. It was from a place called Dexter's. Dexter's Pizza has a branch along Dona Soledad Avenue. It's easy to spot because there's a life-sized cardboard cut-out of PBA star Arwind Santos outside. Being a homegrown brand, Dexter's does not charge as much as Pizza Hut or Shakey's. No franchise fees and all that. But it's still a lot better than the other local brands, most of which have dough that tastes like ordinary bread that's just been flattened. The pizza business is a challenging one. Over the years, we've seen local brands come and go. What Dexter's Pizza needs to do is to expand at a slow, deliberate pace, targeting a specific niche market. Getting a PBA star to endorse them is not a bad strategy for starters. The taste of their pizza is fine for the middle market, as is their price range. They should target the youth market, which means they should open smaller branches near schools, maybe even consign to the canteens of some schools with large populations. Their Dona Soledad branch has been open for a couple of years, at least, so this means they can survive. I'm hoping they not only survive, but bloom in the years to come.
