I've been playing at this course for the last couple months with colleagues from work and I've been impressed with the quality of the course every week, especially since it's public. It is a challenging course, with each hole bringing its own adventure. There are lots of cool birds and animals (mostly groundhogs) around. In the summer there can be lots of mosquitoes (especially the back 9) so just come prepared. The greens and fairways are very well maintained and always so green. Some of the holes have ball cleaners and there are water buckets scattered throughout the course. They have someone who will come around selling drinks and snacks. The clubhouse has (very clean) bathrooms, a bar, food, and a pro shop. They have nice furniture outside including some fire pits. They also have a putting area near hole 1 for practice and a driving range to the right of the clubhouse. They've been doing some work on the holes during the season, mainly repairing the grass or moving tee spots around. I'm not sure whether pricing is good or not. They have a pretty spacious parking lot. read more

We were charged $79.40 as seniors on a Thursday morning. That is too expensive for a course of that caliber. We will not be going back there! read more

What a well groomed and easy access to this Country Club for golf or Private Events! Plenty of parking and the location views are beautiful. I can only comment on an event that we had there and it went perfectly. The whole room was beautifully done....the Bar and Food were stationed centrally for guests. The Staff all very accommodating and pleasant which made our event extra special for the guests. The open atmosphere with wrap around windows made it feel very inviting and airy. The place was super clean and restrooms spotless. It was not rushed and paced nicely. It was a very memorable time well spent here read more

BCC hosted our Annual Charity Golf Tournament and everything was perfect...the set-up, course condition, staff and food were all best-in-class. This is our 5th year returning and we will definitely be back again next year. Kevin is absolutely amazing and make sure that everything runs smoothly. read more

I had one of the worst golfing experiences I've ever had at this course, mainly due to Kevin Sullivan. Beforehand, I was promised left-handed rental clubs by 6:00 PM. When I went to pick them up, Kevin told me to wait until 7:00. Then, he simply told me I wasn't going to get them at all. Their website advertises rental clubs, yet I was forced to play with right-handed clubs the entire time after paying full price. On top of that, my email confirmation clearly stated that my tee time was from 4:30 to 8:30. Yet Kevin drove out in a cart at 7:00 telling me I had to leave the course. An hour later, he even called me and said he was charging me $500 for "driving on the green," even though HE drove onto the green himself just to tell me to get off. The hypocrisy is unbelievable. Kevin's behavior was extremely unprofessional, disrespectful, and from my perspective carried racist undertones. The lack of courtesy, the bait-and-switch with the clubs, the premature removal from the course, and then trying to stick me with a bogus $500 charge--all of it was unacceptable. This experience ruined what should have been an enjoyable day of golf. I would strongly caution anyone considering this course to think twice before spending their money here. read more

Absurdly slow round. They allowed this course to get so backed up we are 2 hours and 15 minutes into our round waiting to tee off on hole 8, a par 5, followed by another par 5 on 9. read more

My wife and I couldn't be more thankful of the wonderful experience we had getting married at Brookmeadow. We knew from the first tour that this was the place for us but what an amazing bonus to have the perfect venue manager in Sarah to work with. She is incredibly personable, professional, creative, and made us feel like family throughout the entire process. The food was outstanding (great portions for a wedding!), service exceptional, clean and cared for venue and grounds, and having a private ceremony area was a huge plus for us. The Brookmeadow Country Club is a fantastic special event venue. The grounds and golf course are well-maintained and breathtakingly beautiful. The clubhouse has two levels, each of which can be utilized for separate functions. The second floor also offers balcony access to provide a breezy view while enjoying cocktails and hors d' oeuvres. Event planners are also free to bring in outside caterers, musicians, and other additional staff. Though I visited the club for a wedding, this space could host a multitude of functions from birthday parties to Bar Mitzvahs. I highly recommend it as an option for a classy, yet relaxed, event. read more

Not the most exciting course but it's a good value and not far from Boston (about 25 min). There's a proper clubhouse and most of the course was in good shape. I doubt that I would play here at peak time ($56 fees + $16 cart) but if you're nearby or just want a quick outing, $15 walking after 6pm is a very good deal. There's a driving range but it's small and doesn't have any grass tees. The putting green is pretty nice though. I'm going to be back again soon and I'll be able to take another look at the course. read more

This is a nice course, very forgiving and the staff is friendly. The cart girl and the guy at the turn were awesome. My boyfriend and I travel all over the country and sometimes don't want to haul our clubs to and from the airport. I was able to rent ladies clubs. Also, the carts are cart path only, so it was a lot of walking if your are in between renting a cart or just walking the course. read more

Good public course. They are usually very accommodating and the the course offers a challenging, but not over the top, 18 holes. I prefer the front 9 to the back. There is a big two story clubhouse that overlooks the first and 18th holes. They recently redid the whole front patio as well, and there is a good spot for chipping and putting as well as a full driving range, which is hard to find. $35 walking golf rate. I went 3/11/3012. The weather was a bit chilly at 8am, but not bad keeping warm while walking. Great bang for buck. Our 2some finished in 3 hours even with the dopes in front losing 2 dozen balls in the trees. There are several doglegs that require position shots off the tee, so use your driver wisely. There are plenty of par 5s where you can bust out the big dog. Dislikes: There are a couple of temporary green with unputtable surfaces. And all the tee boxes we not marked so finding the distance was difficult. There were also no distance stakes throughout the course, so you have to keep you eye out for the sprinkler heads that do have yardage. Overall, it was a great day b/c we finished by 11am and the parking lot was packed when we left with over 20 ppl queued at the 1st tee. I'm sure once the season gets to full swing in April, all the dislikes will be fixed. I just wish the proshop would have notified us before teeing off. read more

One of the closer nice courses in Boston that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. They usually have some kinda deal going on. Fairways and greens are usually in fantastic shape. The course is not incredibly long but many of the holes need to be shaped so it usually plays a bit tougher than the distance indicates. Played here a couple of times this season already and each time we encountered slow play but no rangers in site. They need to improve on that a little. No starters also but that didn't seem to be a problem as people got under way just fine tho. Huge bar area to hang out for a brew or two. Also bev carts on course to that's a bonus. read more

Had my wedding here in August of 16'. After our initial interview with the wedding coordinator, agreeing to price and all details a deposit was made and then never heard from anyone for months and months. Finally about 8-9 months prior to the wedding I had to call 3 times and leave messages to ask about what my wife and I should be doing. Finally got someone to call me and the first thing they ask for is my first payment which I thought was a little odd/rude but hey what did I know. Turns out he original coordinator we had quit (good thing I called huh?). Overall my wife and I were pretty happy. Rough beginning but when Lindsay was hired and took over she did a fantastic job!!!! She deserves a raise. I will say though one thing that has stuck with me the entire time is when we had our final meeting to go over everything, I had asked Ann (General Manager) if the day of the wedding my best man and I could play 9 holes of golf just to keep my mind busy and not focusing on being nervous about at that time the biggest day of my life. Her response: "we don't do 9 holes on Saturday's". It still makes me laugh 8 months later. You would think after having giving hem $18k that they could bend their rules a tiny bit and help me with my nerves on the day of my wedding. Guess not. So again we were relatively happy. Would I stick with them if I had to choose again? Not sure. Again though Lindsay was fantastic, maybe I would think differently if she was involved the entire time. read more

With all the rain, the course is pretty soggy. One hole on the front 9 is roped off 50-75 yards all around the green. All balls need to be picked up and dropped (no drop area) before the ropes or on some scruff next to the car path. Back nine in better shape. read more

Held a function at Gatherings, it was not a wedding. Beware: I was told the main meal would be put out 20-30 minutes after the appetizers. The appetizers were out at exactly the same time as the food. When I questioned this I was told "people were asking for the food". I found out later from the first person who entered the party that both the food and appetizers were out when she walked in the room. I also inquired about taking any leftover food home with me as many function rooms allow. I was told that the town of canton did not allow this. This is totally untrue. Called the town and they didn't know what I was talking about. When you sign their agreement it does state you cannot remove food from the premises, but don't blame it on the town. In the function agreement it states that the bartender will serve until 30 minutes before closing. Three hours in she was calling last call. When I questioned her she changed it to she didn't feel comfortable serving certain people anymore. I said that's fine but don't call last call with 2 more hours to go. She then told me she closed 45 minutes before closing, even tho I knew the agreement said 30. A half hour later she was calling last call again. The air conditinoning was shut off with 2 more hours to go. The only thing going for this place is the veranda. Totally cannot recommend. read more

Fantastic course that's very walkable in the current heat. Nice and well-stocked pro shop. Staff friendly and head pro Ryan MacDonald (must be scottish) seems very down to earth and a nice guy. He even gave me a quick tip on putting when he saw me struggling out there. Two other guys in the pro shop seemed professional and pleasant. Nice course, not off-puttingly challenging for a 15 handicap, but no walk in the park, either. Pretty flat (I like to walk) and greens in good shape, especially given the brutal summer and drought in this area. A little browning of the grass other than the greens is understandable - I'll take any superintendent who chooses to keep the greens in such great shape over the rough or even fairway given current weather. Pace of play was good and ran to about 4 hours 10 mins and price was definitely value for money. Food was excellent, I highly recommend the burger and the bar staff were courteous and attentive. Drinks were cool and kept flowing. Had a great day and I'll definitely be back. read more

I've played this course a bunch of times and I find it pretty boring. Not hilly but also not a wide open links course. The course downer have an identity. The price is pretty steep and half the course can be under water whenever there has been a rainfall. Management seems to bow to the whims of the owner who knows Nothing of running a golf course. Absolutely love this course, easily one of the best within a 30-minute drive of Boston in its price range. Course is always in great shape, especially the greens, and the staff there are friendly and helpful. The lay-out may look simple or easier, but the course plays out to be a lot more challenging than you'd think, especially when the pins are in more challenging spots. The clubhouse/bar area is great too, pretty good food for a golf course bar and the service is always excellent. Their patio is a great place to relax and enjoy a drink after the round. Can also say we've hosted a large scramble tournament here in August each of the past 3 years and have had great experiences. The staff really know what they're doing in helping put a tournament together and are flexible when it comes to helping arrange different contests on holes and everything. Can't say enough good things about the course and the crew here, highly recommend getting a round in here if you haven't already. read more

This is not a difficult course. If that is what you are looking for, look elsewhere. It is flat and most of the greens don't have much slope/break. The greens however are consistently in fantastic shape over the years and considering the course gets a lot of play, the tee boxes and fairways are also in great condition on a consistent basis. Played in a DD golf outing here and everything was top notch. Clubhouse, Pro Shop, Course. 10th Tee Grill, Staff, Food, etc. we're all excellent. Golf course is in excellent shape. Greens are nice and firm. Course plays long but pretty flat. Challenging but not frustrating for a 20 handicapper. Checked out prices while I was there and they are reasonable for such a nice course. The course is totally public and that's hard to believe because how nice everything is. Every staff member I encountered from the Starter to the Golf Pro, from the waitresses to the hostess were all extremely friendly and warm. Whoever owns the club is doing a great job and should be proud of themselves and their employees. read more

Best public course around greater boston. Fair price, challenging holes and not to crowded. It's like two different courses in one. Front is kind of tight into the woods and back opens up real nice. Decent course. Good for the money. Sllloooooowwwww round! 6-hour round this past weekend. Pace of play is something that needs to be addressed from the beginning. No starter at the 1st tee, which allowed people to tee off when the group in front was out of reach. That always leads to bottlenecks, which at this course, is easy to do.
