This whole area is very new and is enjoyed by many nearby. Grass, a small hill perimeter with trees planted on top for a sense of good feng shui. A wall of rocks in a small metal mesh cage on one end. Not sure the deal on that one. A bad but popular design trend in landscaping in my book. That is just a home for dirt and spiders to collect. The whole area is sinking - Mission Bay. The surrounding Childrens hospital sidewalks won't show it due to genius design but the rest of the neighbors show significant expected settling. The park looks great. I inspected wheelchair ramps and tripping safety and didn't see anything. Its more an issue when the building sinks due to weight and the nearby sidewalk sinks at a different rate. The Children's hospital was the only building to take it all into consideration and build it once build it right. Thats something to live by. Rinks loves the city. And you bet she has been here. A city girl. She thinks Oakland is ok too - but she really doesn't like Hayward. In fact she refuse to be seen there.

What if I also told you it was the location were the first dynamite factory in America. You would have seen lots of different dynamite fire at this location in 1868. Today this place is located in the Glen Park neighborhood of San Francisco and it's called Glen Canyon Park and Recreation. On a Spring stroll you can enjoy the sun in San Francisco and go out for a jog and hike and also walk the dog at Glen Canyon Park. This place feels as you stepped into nature inside a forest and canyon outside San Francisco. This place looks far from the scenery around the Civic Center. You will also find a community painted mural which reflects the Glen Canyon Park habitat like the animals and birds designed by animated television series Bob Burgers artist Sirron Norris. There are no amusement parks in San Francisco but you can be amused at the different local parks the city has by living that park life. So much room to spread out so no one is in your way. Great for meditation or soul searching. It just feels so healing to be in nature! To be surrounded by all this green! The play structure is so nice and new and clean. I climbed up and (slowly) went down the small slide. felt like a kid again. Such happiness, such wonder. So many fond memories here of people I used to come here with. People not in my life anymore. Hope they're doing well

The concert venue is set in a valley between the Parkside and Sunset districts surrounded by trees. A beautiful setting with multiple terraced levels for seating. Lower area meadow with park benches. A raised area with private picnic tables. Beyond that are stone paved terraces and then a grassy sloped seating area. They say 10,000 people when full. Off to the right of the stage There's an overload meadow where you watch the concert on a big screen. We brought our own lunch and wine but there is an abundance of food trucks as well. Long lines at the bathrooms so plan accordingly. Very festive with folks having a great time dancing to the DJ beats before Diana Ross takes the stage. Feeling alive and proud to live in San Francisco. No doom and gloom here unlike what you see too often on social media. When Miss Diana Ross came on stage the entire crowd erupted in cheers and applause for the music legend. She looked fantastic at 81 years young. Her voice as powerful and sensuous as ever. Great sounding band and sound system. Sang her all time favorites and some jazzy blues songs too. One big negative. People lighting up even tho no smoking of any kind is allowed. Kinda frustrating they don't just follow the rules. Even worse the staff or security don't care to ask them to stop.

The layout is more challenging and perfect for little explorers who love to climb, balance, and stay active. My 3-year-old always finds something new to do, and it keeps them engaged for a long time. I also appreciate that babies aren't left out--there are designated areas where younger kids can safely play too. The restroom is conveniently located and clean, which is a big plus for families. That said, some of the rocky edges can be a bit risky for adventurous kids, so it's definitely a place where you'll want to keep a close eye on them at all times. The only downside is parking--it can be pretty tough to find a spot, especially during busy times. Overall, it's a fun and exciting playground that's great for kids of different ages, as long as you're prepared for a bit of supervision and a parking hunt!

Overall, Lafayette Park is yet another gem that makes San Francisco special.

The views are breathtaking. You can see the Golden Gate Bridge, Marin County, Salesforce Tower (basically you see this wherever you are in San Francisco), the coast & much more. I love all the sand at the top of the park. There gorgeous succulents lots of chert rock and stairs on the other side that you can choose to descend. This is another spectacular free destination to enjoy in San Francisco.

My review is for the bicycle lane around Lake Merced…read more The parked RVs on Lake Merced Boulevard makes this dangerous with cars disobeying the speed limit all the time. The RVs were supposed to be leaving November 1st, 2025. But, that was just another fairy tale by the politicians. DPW has a special sweeper to clean between the new concrete barrier islands separating the the sidewalk path and the street. But the sweeper machine just makes a bigger mess than before- moving the dirt and rocks to the middle and dropping more dirt along the way. Many calls to 311 were fruitless in getting this fixed. The City is coming up short on this.

I followed the instructions to drive up the steep Lakeview Ave and it's a dead end where there is access to a hilly rocky area that offers spectacular views. It really feels like someone's steep backyard that's not usable for development. There are fenced backyards of surrounding houses that you can easily see from the rock. If it wasn't for the views, the place isn't worth it: the ground is really trashed badly, and it's very sad. Broken glass, needles, trash everywhere. It's designated as 'Significant natural resource area' that apparently contains sensitive plant and animal species. Unfortunately stoned human species are unable to keep up with any of that. Saw plenty of bagged but not removed dog poop. If you went to all that trouble of bagging it, why not complete the next logical step in collecting after your animal? Anyway, I would caution strongly against allowing any kind of pet to walk on these grounds. Fortunately, we saw a lady carrying her doggie underarm while climbing the rock (for the views!) and did the same. Wise move! Too much of broken glass, sharp pieces of varying shapes and sizes covering the ground everywhere. This alone would and should have lowered my rating to 2 stars, but the views! Darn views. It really doesn't look like much from the street. So I think how it is super underrated is a plus. Very clean and the grass condition is good.
