I have never undergone physical therapy before, but she is my physical therapist for life . I am 58 years old and , more likely than not , will need physical therapy in the future for some reason . I have been going to physical therapy on the Northside and am not happy with their services. First,…read morebecause this location does not have a lot of patients, they are constantly moving the staff around to other locations leaving this location with no consistency on who you will see or even who will check you in. You do not ever get the chance to get comfortable and build a sense of trust with the staff including the physical therapist. You have to constantly give them your medical history and explain why you are going to physical therapy and where you are in your treatments. Second, you may or may not work with an actual physical therapist. On two separate occasions I was seen by a CNA who just read off of a sheet on what she asked me to do. If I did see a physical therapist, he had other patients he was working with at the same time and I often had to wait between exercises before he could continue with me. Third, you do the same exercises over and over again. Once I was shown something, I did my exercises at home so going to an appointment where the do the same thing is a waste of my time. Fourth, I had an appt scheduled on Monday, but I got sick over the weekend and contacted my primary care physician and was able to get an appointment that was at the same time as my physical therapy appointment. I immediately called them as soon as they opened and they would not waive the cancellation fee of $50.00 regardless of the situation. I was advised that I should have called over the weekend and left a message to reschedule my appointment. Last, they are quick to charge me a late fee, but I had to wait to be called back at least 30 minutes for every appointment I went to. I would not recommend Coastal Physical Therapy on the Northside of Jacksonville, Florida (Dundas Dr).

What I like about this Clinic is that it is very personal. At other clinics I had the experience of having four or five different people work on my therapy within any given visit. I dreaded my visits there. Here I am assigned one person that stays with me the entire time. This is the way it should be. When being assigned to the same therapist for the entire appointment, they get to know you better, what you need to work on and how they can help you best. This is a nice clinic, conveniently located on Argyle Forest. They have a large rehab area with various types of rehabilitation equipment to meet your needs. You can park right in front of this clinic and there is always parking availability. The therapists are very friendly - I enjoy this! They care for you, and they make sure that you are feeling comfortable with your therapy. If you ask questions, they will answer the questions. They will have questions for you as well..so that they can provide the best services. Instead of dreading your clinic time in physical therapy each visit, you actually will look forward to it because it is a happy, positive environment! The front office staff is top-notch with smiles to greet you, and whole staff is professional in demeanor. As JGPT was recommended to me by my good friend, I will highly recommend this clinic to you as well! Well, done JGPT- Argyle! You have made a believer out of me! I…read moreoften woke up in discomfort and had trouble falling asleep, but after the first two visits with Dr. Scotto I already felt a lot of relief, but Dr. Scotto continued to give me more exercises so that I could keep things under control so that I wouldn't have to keep coming back every few weeks. After 4-5 visits my discomfort is 99% better (and getting even better!) This is a totally different experience than with massage therapists and chiropractors. They want you to feel good for awhile and then come back, while Dr. Scotto does his best to make sure you never come back for the same issue! I highly suggest Dr. Scotto for ANY physical therapy.

Not knowing what to expect, I ended up pleasantly surprised! I started with a physical therapist who was very nice and knowledgeable but 'just not for me.' I then had the opportunity to switch to a different therapist when I needed to change one of my therapy appointments. From that day forward, I remained with that therapist! Our personalities were very similar. He gave me my exercises, pushed me just enough to finish the amount he had decided upon. Then, I pushed myself even farther! We made a good team for my rehabilitation! He, as well as the other three therapists I worked with while recovering were all extremely punctual, knowledgeable, organized, and very mindful of the patient's tolerance level! The facility was always clean, neat, and organized. Each table, tool, and machine were cleaned & sanitized after each use, as well! We've been going here for a few months now and I'm glad I chose this location. The actual location is a small in size. It very friendly. Since we have been going I haven't noticed any other children or many young adults as patients; mainly older clientele as they also are able to utilize the gym equipment outside of scheduled therapy. I do believe on a paid gym plan. All of the staff and receptionist are great. We have had no problem rescheduling or arriving late when behind our control. They are always accommodating. We have taken a string liking to Therapist Amy. She seems to go beyond her call of duty in interacting with her patients. She seems as though she wants a full recovery just as much as we do. I can always count on her to truly have my son really do the work needed while towards his recovery.
