I went to Brookside Nuraery at 824 NY 67 Balston Spa. today. I am very impressed with their flowers, plants, trees, etc.. I am more impressedI with what happened on my way out. I am handicapped and use a mobility scooter to get around. The Manager of Brookside came to me as I got to my car to ask if everything at the nursery was easy for me to navigate around. I am very impressed with her inquiry, as the state of NY is not a very handicapped accessible. To know that Brookside actually considers that is amazing and I will definately be back. Their plants and flowers are all very healthy and they had a large supply of well established beautiful fuschias, one of which I purchased! I had been all over Clifton Park looking for a hanging fuschia basketbut did not find one. The other employees are all very friendly and helpful also. Every time I have gone to this plant nursery has been wonderful. The staff is super friendly and always more than willing to answer my questions and show me where to find exactly what I'm looking for. The prices are good and the selection is amazing. I went yesterday with a friend and my dog and they allowed her to venture through the place with me. It was not busy at all which was great for my friend and I who were looking to get some indoor plants. We weren't sure what exactly we were looking for. We had a wonderful time walking throughout the store looking at the variety of plants and trees and decorations in general. My friend did purchase a small plant and I decided to get a pumpkin carving kit. The nursery worker who cashed us out is the same women who has helped me keep my cactus alive throughout some hard times :) she informed us that the new shipment of plants will be there Wednesday and answered all the questions my friend had about her new plant. This is a great local nursery! This is by far the friendliest nursery I've been to locally. I needed some seed starting trays and some guideance as to some troubles I had last year with my vegetable garden. I was promptly greeted outside and personally directed to the products I needed. The woman I talked to was more than willing to let me pick her brain. The people here are knowledgable and helpful. Prices are fair and products are quality. They offer everything one needs to produce a successful garden home. From starting seeds to ready to transplant plants to creating pathways to tree planting. They have it all and they are willing to help. This place made me want to shop here again and I left feeling inspired to work on my garden. read more

What a great nursery! I have never been to a nursery where the people are so friendly and helpful! From the minute I stepped out of my car, someone was there helping me. I went in there with a picture of my house and without a clue what I wanted to do as far as landscaping, and left with not only a car full of beautiful (and relatively cheap) plants and a garden design, but a whole new knowledge about not only the plants the I purchased but every plant, grass, and flower that I own! I love it there, and would not hesitate for a minute traveling there from Clifton Park! I truly felt as if the girls there cared about what my garden looked like and were not just merely trying to sell me plants and shrubs. The whole place was set up in an orderly fashion with beautiful displays everywhere, everything was clearly marked. I really cannot say enough about this place except I cannot wait to start my next gardening project so I can go back. read more

Stopped in spontaneously and found Brookside to have a large selection and very helpful staff. I moved from an entirely different growing zone, so I had a million questions. They had two things I had been looking for all over....wisteria and snowberry. A nice nursery with great selection. The prices are no bargain, but they make up for it with selection, knowledgable staff and good service. read more

Does not stand behind their product. Their designer laid out a project for us and hand picked the plants for us. 3 did not make it through the winter. Calls to them were not returned. Drove out there and waited 1/2 hour for Stacey to find time to speak with us. Stacey lied to us Said she would talk with the owner about replacements and call us back. 3 weeks later no call back, when I called back I received attitude and she only tried to sell me new plants. Stay away staff is anything but cooperative, with no customer service skills. Requests for owner/manager to contact me were met with nasty replies. Photos of their dead plants/shrubs on our front lawn are available. Remember their landscape designer hand picked these plants for us. From now on we buy only from Troy Landscaping. Brookside has lost hundreds of dollars of the remainder of our landscape project. Yes prices are great until you have dead plants. read more

I stop by the nursery and found pjm rhododendron that I was looking for they were large and beautiful.There was no price on the containers,but a lady asked if she could help,I asked the price and she told me $75 dollars.that she was about to mark them but had not yet.I didn't have my truck so I returned the next day picked out 3 plants and brought them inside to pay the same lady who waited on me the previous day then told me they were $99 dollars each.I said I was here yesterday and you told me $75.She said she remembered but she was wrong I asked if she could give any discount.She told me see doesn't set the price,so no.Why do you think people ask the price. read more
