This place is great. Yes, it is more expensive, certainly compared to the big box stores and even…read moreto other local nurseries, but you are paying for quality, knowledge and service...yesterday we were at the local big box store looking for perennials, we has some in our cart, the wife looked at the tag, and said, "The minimum temperature for these are 30 - 40oF, they're for Zone 10." I asked one the kids working there, "I know we're not in Zone 10, but what Zone are we in?" He looked at me blankly as if I had asked him to solve a quadratic equation...Fortunately, another customer had overheard our conversation and said, "We're in Zone 5, those will be dead by October." We did get a few things, and after putting them in, realized we needed more, I told my wife, "We're going to Kulak's tomorrow."
I had a question about mulching perennials as well as keeping weeding to a minimum, (we're creating a perennial garden out of an area where bushes grew for years) and were directed to Allison. She's a wealth of information, a little bit into our conversation, another customer stopped to listen. Allison asked, "Can I help you?", the customer said, "No, this is really interesting, please continue." She's also really funny and personable as well as informative.
Everything they offer is quality. Again, you will pay for quality, but you will not be sorry to go there, IMHO...
