very disappointed on this company. we save money for year to install our deck 8 years ago and went with Brookside instead of the big box company because we thought we would get quality materials. we where so wrong!! the deck board swelled immediately instead of the usual sinkage immediately and all the board rot out within 3 years. i callled and expressed my concerns and was told they do nothing , then i found out they had a recall on there on materials amd have to send all materials back and rhey would let me know if otnwas covered!! so disappointed. i have to totally install a completely new deck now because the product they sell is inferior to the big box stores. save yourself alot of time and headaches and do mot deal worh this company. They only care about the bottom dollar. such a shame to call yourself a family company. read more

They already have a professionally printed signs about how you don't have to wear masks. I am allergic to the vaccine, and am not comfortable in an indoor public place with so many people (and all employees) unmasked. I don't know that those people are vaccinated. I couldn't go in and put myself and my children at risk. read more

Unfortunately we needed to build a deck for our swimming pool this summer in a very challenging environment. Our carpenter suggested using Brookside as their products were superior to the big box stores so we took his advice and contacted Brookside. Kevin, the manager, was a godsend. He helped us develop a design, worked with us to get the materials we needed in the craziest supply market we've experienced and he even personally delivered some wood when our carpenter needed it to continue the project. It's a shame Brookside has such terrible customer service, from your first encounter at the front desk to the sales people. They have great products that you can't find at Lowe's or Hone Depot and I suppose that's how they've gained share in this market. They are arrogant, don't apologize for mistakes they make, and do not have the basic customer service skills that you would expect. I will being my business elsewhere in the future. read more

We've been working with Brookside Lumber for our kitchen remodel project. Our contractor recommended them and I am sure glad that he did. Great selection and multiple options. Jessie in their kitchen department has been great to work with. She has done a great job meeting with us and answering all of our questions. She has made a pretty strenuous process (at least for us) very easy! All and all a great experience - will definitely utilize their services on future projects. read more

It's so sad to spend money somewhere that treats you this poorly. I could explain the whole story and frustrate myself all over again but they won't care. 2 visits to pick out decking and assured they have it, pay in full, as soon as the check cleared it's not in stock. I have the install scheduled and now there won't be product. Don't worry no apologies just arrogance to me because they are angry someone oversold the product. My husband and I were looking for a replacement piece of lumber for a deck that our contractor installed several years ago. As we were called to the customer service counter the woman was super short with us. "We don't have that anymore." was her response when we showed her what we were looking for. Then silence.....So we asked to see what they did have because we didn't care if it was a perfect match. Again she was abrasive and unhelpful. It was like we were putting her out just to show us what they had. The sad thing is that this is where our building materials came from when the deck was installed and we had been to Lowes but wanted to support local business. I hope she was just having a bad day. read more

WARNING unless you enjoy having your intelligence questioned DO NOT SHOP HERE. Had an unbelievably hideous experience involving Kevin supposedly the manager. I cannot believe that they treat their customers so poorly. He was rude and dismissive when i questioned the quality of the lumber being loaded for me. The lumber stacks are in disarray and many of the boards they tried to sell me were obviously defective. Instead of trying to discuss the situation Kevin muttered there are plenty of other lumber yards try them. Wish you would have told me that before i spent thousands of dollars in materials! read more

I've had a great experience working with Brookside the past few months. The staff is very knowledgeable, helpful and courteous. They return calls in a timely manner and even rescued some hardware out of the dumpster (it was my fault that it got thrown away).
