So far so good. Was recommended this local business for carpeting and so far nothing but superb service. Waking into the showroom was greeted quick and assistance offered to shop at our leisure. Lots to choose from from carpeting to flooring. Up to now the service has been excellent, from being given a preliminary estimate and a visit by one of their specialists to measure the area in my home that's needs carpeting. My husband worked for them as a contractor and they still haven't paid him for jobs he did months ago. Every time when he asked for the pay the owner Jason always comes up with BS excuses like "we had to send someone to repair the job you did" or "the floor is defective and we are waiting for the refund from the manufacturer in order to pay you". My husband is fully insured, any real and non made up repairing needs or damages would be covered by the insurance. The owner is going out of his way to make a honest hard working person's life difficult because he feels that he is entitled to not pay someone for their work just because they left to work for another company. Potential customers or contractors who might be interested in working with this company - please stay away from these dishonest, petty, unethical thieves. We will be seeing them in court and hopefully this review can help some of you avoid being scammed by them. read more

I've used Flooring Design Unlimited several times in the last 5-6 years. First was a remodel of my old home, including hardwood on the main floor, tile in the kitchen and entryway and hallway, tile for backsplash and carpet for stairs.n. Last year I had them replace carpet in the three bedrooms and tile the shower. Great work. They also did all the flooring in our new home, hardwood, tile in 4 bathroom, backsplash tile, tile in master shower, carpet in the bedrooms and game room. So a decent amount of work. A few months after moving in, we noticed this gap in the hardwood. They sent someone out, he said he needed glue to fix and would be back in a few days and never came back. I started calling Jason Pape to see when someone could come out. Left him half a dozen voice mails, emailed him, no response for two months. Every time I called the store I was told he just ran out. Finally mentioned something to our builders, who said they'd call. By this time, we now have boards coming up, many separating, so lots of gaps throughout. Jason finally called back, sent a couple people out, who said it appeared they didn't nail the floor down like they were supposed to. Not sure yet if that means everywhere, or just in some areas. To fix, they ordered two boxes of flooring and quarter round. Three weeks later, a gentleman came out to fix it, but while we had the wood here, they didn't deliver the quarter round, so he left. It's been over three weeks, still no one has come out, and no calls. I called Jason a week ago and left a message, no response. I called the store Monday, and of course, he just stepped out, and I was promised he'd call me first thing Tuesday morning. Still no response. Until now, I've had zero complaints with their work. But we're going on 4-5 months of trying to get this fixed, and still can't get ahold of them. Update, we have finally had all flooring issues resolved. read more

Service recovery when there are issues keeps reviews such as this from being written, but this was missed and no one bothered to follow up as requested. Tile design in foyer was misplaced, uncentered and needed to be sacrificed because of lack of product. Appliance not replaced correctly necessitating homeowner to provide supplies and assistance to make it correct. Proper power tools not bought to job again necessitating homeowner to supply. Not enough stair transition material ordered and was told we needed to pay additional. REALLY. Find another place. Unprofessional and not worth the aggravation. read more

The only reason I'm giving them 2 stars instead 1 is that I liked our sales person. After picking up my order I called to ask a question about grout. No return call. I called a few days later to see how long it would take to order more mastic as there wasn't enough. No return call. I found it elsewhere. Again a few days later I called to order more mosaic because I was considering changing my design. No return call. My last call was to ask if I could return an UNopened bag of grout. They ordered too much. They said no. Once they have your money the customer service is gone. Spend your money elsewhere read more

I purchased carpeting for our first floor family room from John Pape Floor Coverings Inc. aka Pape's Flooring America on 5837 Brownsville Rd in 11/2016 - less than 3 yeasts ago!!! The carpet texture has crushed down flat and the carpet is buckling. I had 20 year old carpeting that started to lift and buckle. This carpet has a 15 year warranty on texture. The carpet was purchased and installed by Pape flooring. A woman called me and said she would look into it. I'm still waiting. FYI this was a higher end carpet recommended (pushed) by a Pape salesperson. Bottom line.......buy your carpet somewhere else!! Recently we had our upstairs carpeting replaced in our 4 bedrooms and upstairs hallway at Home Depot. Home Depot did a great job. DO NOT buy any carpeting from Pape!!!!!! read more
