I began communicating with them 6/22/26. There were emails back and forth several times, ironing out the details of the materials and work I wanted to have done. I thought it was odd that no one was calling me to discuss the details or to set up an appointment to come to my home to get exact details themselves. I got my first phone call from the company on 7/7/26. The woman I spoke with was very friendly and seemed to be very genuine. I explained I would be on vacation should see reach out and me not respond. She explained that their installers are a third party company and had to work with them to get the quote, but said she had all the information she now needed to get that. I was given the impression that I would have the quote to me by the time I returned from vacation. I did not. A month has now passed since my initial contact with the company. I emailed them 7/27/26 asking about the quote, and the response I received was that they were still waiting on the 3rd party (installers) and the person they were waiting on was on vacation and wouldn't be back for another 2 weeks. At that point I was sure, as I had suspected earlier, that I was being strung along the whole time. I have no respect for people/companies that operate on lies. Just be honest with customers and tell them you don't want the job or you are too busy to get to it. Total disrespect. Everyone's time is valuable. I truly don't know how people can do this to people. Friends that wanted similar work done were waiting to see how things went with mine. I have already begun sharing my experience with those people and others and I will continue to do so. I do NOT recommend this company in any capacity.

I live in the area and have bought salt and sand from Kiefer Coal for several years. I also used…read morethem for the concrete for my driveway and patio, and buy my driveway sealers from them. I appreciate that they are an almost 90 year old family run business. They are very knowledgeable and have always been helpful, even trying to locate items for me that they did not carry in the store. You can tell that they really care, unlike the big box stores. They also have an upstairs storeroom with a bunch of antique coal stoves, which is really cool. I will note that they are located off a confusing intersection that has 2 parallel roads with a trolley track between them, and there is a road crossing over the track here. The traffic crossing the tracks does not have a stop sign, which has created a lot of confusion when people do not check the parallel road to see if anyone is crossing over the tracks before they go. This is not Kiefer Coal's fault, but is the fault of the borough when they re-did this intersection a number of years ago and did not address it. I have many times as a driver on the road at this intersection and as a pedestrian when getting off the trolley stop here nearly been hit by people going through the parallel roads who do not understand the traffic pattern and assume that everyone has a stop sign (they do not.) You have to watch driving through this area in general.

The driver, Brad, that delivered our load of gravel was pleasant, but did not listen (twice) to how I wanted the gravel to be placed. In turn the truck tore up the fabric we had laid down in the driveway over the dirt and caused ruts in our driveway. The driver ended up putting the gravel into one big pile (not the way we wanted it!) and then ran over part of our retaining wall with the truck on the way out. I called the company and spoke with the owner about the events that occurred with our delivery. He was rude and abrasive. When he was told how we had asked the driver to place the gravel I got the reply, "that is a really stupid f*cking idea". The owner told me he would speak with the driver and would call me back about the retaining wall he had knocked over. He never called me back. I'm 70 now and My kids are calling me saying, "Mom, we needed Tinners Red Paint on the job. Couldn't find it. I said I bet Rolliers has it. And they did.
