In April of 2024 this company came and did work to fix a leak in my roof.He was asked on a Sunday and the rain was pouring in.The owner of the company showed up and said he could get it next week as his company was working near me.I asked him to call me Monday and set a firm date so I could be present when work was in progress.I needed this date because I told him I was travelling 25 straight days to Saint John so my wife could undertake her daily radiation treatments for cancer.I could then make arrangements to be home and get another driver to take my wife to Saint John..When we were returning from Saint John,I got a call saying the work was done.I was charged $4500 for 2 hours work !!It still leaked 2 -3 days later and I had to call another roofer to fix the leak because Brookside Roofing did not warranty "repair" work. After hearing talk about liens for non payment and the stress we had at the time I paid him which was very stupid of me.Nothing I could do about it.Both small claims court and BBB said even if i were to be successful in my case,unfortunately,they could not force any reduction in payment .In closing The second roofer I called fixed the roof around the "stink pipe" and My bill was under $400 dollars and the leak was fixed !.Lots more I could say but when you are 78 years old and on a fixed income this was a real set back and I am still paying my loan off...Stay clear of the owner of this company. read more

I contacted them to have a repair done on my roof. Told him it leaks and showed him pictures. He came and looked at the job, gave a verbal quote and then showed up (not on the day he said he would) did part of the job and wants full pay. I gave them half because thats whats fair. When I talked to him about it he agreed he would come finish the job. Then weeks of heavy rain go by. Im still dealing with a leaky roof. He finally contacts me to say he would send someone to fix it, but starts to lead into the conversation like it's going to cost me more money. Told him Id get a different company in because I was unimpressed. This whole experience with Brookside roofing left me upset with a leaky roof and a mess in my house. He gave an "invoice" with no hst number or contact information on it and then he threatens to put a lean on my house if I dont pay him another $225 for work he didnt do. Unproffesional and very rude. I needed someone on a Saturday afternoon. The Brookside Roofing yellow pages ad listed a personal cell phone # while some of the other ads had a message machine on the weekend. The owner answered the cell phone and was at my location within 20 minutes. He quoted the job and the invoice was exactly as quoted. They showed up on time and it was completed exactly as promised. There was literally no mess in the yard as they cleaned up as they worked. The owner was on site very often but also left a foreman in charge. Very impressed!
