Brothers moved and stored our belongings in June 2026 and was horrible in every way. Loading invoice claimed 5 movers and 2 trucks; there were 3 movers (of which only 1 guy was actually hustling) in one undersized truck. They had to come back the next day to load remaining furniture and boxes in another truck and I had to hound them (3 calls & 2 emails) to get it done before I had to be out of the house. Contracts/documents are signed ON THE MOVERS PHONE! once they already have control of your belongings. It's impossible to read through several pages of contract on this guys phone while he's holding it. Oh, and one of the worthless guys managed to damage three wall corners that needed repair before move out. After storing for two weeks, a truck and a panel van show up with a crew of mostly day-laborers who dropped and damaged multiple pieces of furniture and boxes. They scratched a brand new floor in two separate rooms literally dragging in a heavy wall bed which they then broke, making it unusable. They damaged a large specially-made desk which will require professional repair and another cabinet which I ended up just throwing away out of frustration. The very best part is that, after all of that damage (the wall bed alone will cost $3000 to replace, the owner Paul Woodruff is down-grading my insurance claim to ZERO DOLLARS based on $1 per pound --that tiny text on the phone, remember? minus $1000 deductible. Do not use Brothers Moving & Storage. You'd be better off just putting all your stuff in the dumpster now and saving the headache. Oh wait, there's more! Michael, or whoever does the walk-through, will give you an estimate with a "not to exceed" amount and be so very proud that they disclose this upper limit but I can promise you, that upper limit is exactly what you will pay. I don't usually leave reviews, but I feel others should know about my experience. I worked for this company for a short time and was disappointed with how things were handled. During one move, a light fixture came loose while we were moving furniture. It was not broken, but I was not given the opportunity to fix or inspect the situation before being told I would be responsible for it. The bigger concern for me was the work environment. While on a job moving belongings for an elementary school, I was riding in a company truck that contained the school's items when coworkers were smoking marijuana inside the vehicle during the workday. I felt this was extremely unprofessional and concerning, especially while transporting customers' belongings. I brought the issue to my crew leads attention, but the situation continued as he also was doing the same thing so he was dismissive. I ultimately chose to resign that same day because I was not comfortable continuing in that environment. When I received my final paycheck, deductions were taken that I did not feel were properly explained or documented. I initially called to see about getting an estimate to move within state and I was told to fill out a form on-line with a listing of all my household goods. I explained that I want someone to come to my residence to provide the estimate. I was told that someone would call me back later in the day. I never received a call. A week later I again called for an estimate and again told that I would get a call within 20 minutes. Well it has been another week and still have not received a call. If you are looking for Brothers to move you, I wish you better luck in actually getting any help at all. I don't know where to begin. For starters movers arrived late. Within 45 mins of arrival all 4 crew members were taking a smoke break (mind you they're getting paid by the hour). 4 employees X 10 mins is almost an hour worth of labor, @$195 an hour just standing around leisurely smoking. The crew showed little care in my valuables. They placed dressers and furniture on a dolly and rolled them as fast as they could down my front stairs with a BAM! BAM! BAM! each time a new stair was taken. One crew member had a young diaper clad toddler in his personal car during the move. At one point he asked that some of my family watch his little girl while he continued to work. The little girl ended up falling down in the backyard and hitting her head on the concrete - creating a liability for the homeowner. Once my items were moved to the new house the little girl proceeded to play with my daughter's toys to keep her entertained and out of the way of the workmen. This speaks to the utter lack of professionalism of Brothers employees. This was not an ideal 'bring your kid to work' scenario. **Important** My refrigerator and a stand alone freezer would not fit through my door without taking off the doors. The movers refused to take the doors off the fridge and freezer to finish the job. Seems like a pretty standard procedure for movers to perform. They said they would just leave the items outside. I had to scramble through all of my unpacked boxes to find a screwdriver and socket set to remove the doors myself. Searching though all my packed stuff to find the required tools took a fair amount of time - all while they stood around and waited. The moving crew left trash, water bottles & clothing in the front yard of my old house. We moved 4 houses down the street, cost me $2.4K and I regret the day Brothers Moving and Storage ever came across my Google search. I'm moving again on the 22nd this month and I avoided this company like the plague. I'd recommend you do the same. read more

Critical: Professionalism went to them to help move my belongings and store it safe and sound. I was continuously paying my bill to have it stored while I was signing my paperwork for my new house. I went to get my belongings and it had been stolen. I reach out to everyone and they just keep passing the ball to the next person. They even hung up on me a couple times. My tvs, my kids belongings, my belongings, my sons moms belongings, along with furniture has all been stolen and nobody had a answer or a solution to reimburse me for my belongings. On June 8, 2022, I placed my trust on this company Brothers moving & storage to store our household electronics, furniture, and other personal items while we moved to North Dakota. I spoke to Wanda Oliver about my situation In which she Sympathize by asking the owner if they could possibly help me move my things at a lower cost. Wanda Oliver had not fully put the amount of things in the system to avoid more cost. I ended up paying 4 hours worth of moving fees $234 an hour to take my items to storage unit provided by Brothers moving& storage located 306 e 67th st lot 3 Odessa Texas 79762 I paid $180 per month on time to keep my items safe in their care in their unit. On May 22, 2023, when I received my items back, I noticed several items missing. All 5 tv's, a Handgun, brand name clothes, shoes, perfumes, boxing bag, printers, kitchen appliances, silverwear, incomplete furniture, including all of my Work supplies as a licensed beautician. All items totaling an amount of no less than 20 thousand dollars. I have called this company on multiple occasions, they do not answer and the person I was finally able to get through to informed me that they will call me back with information on my items and yet it has been over two weeks with no information. As a client who personally chose them for business, paid and placed my trust and yet did not receive all of my items, this is the worst experience as I feel robbed and violated by this company. They are not taking this as serious as it is to me and my children who's items are also missing. This shouldn't be happening to anyone, this business is expensive yet careless and negligent. Brothers Moving has been our company for Office and Personal needs for about 5 years. The guys did an incredibly huge job for us -it took 2 full days. After reading some reviews, I think movers being late comes with the territory. People might not realize how much stuff/time it takes them, especially when it's being packed and moved carefully. Total crooks! Provided a "not to exceed 10%" quote, then on delivery changed it and began threatening us to pay more than 200% of the original quote or they wouldn't let us have our stuff. They did not provide with the size truck they promised so it took 2 vehicles to move and they still left the house without notice and with items still needing to be moved. They illegally opened our personal Uhaul for our fragile/sensitive items and threw a bunch of heavy items into it without asking, damaging even more valuable. They did not have hydraulic lifts as promised for moving heavy items. Dropped and damaged tons of expensive items. Tl;dr--see attached photos. In November of last year, we hired Brothers Moving and Storage to move us from Midland to Austin. They packed everything and loaded it up in their trailer. They were very friendly and professional, and it quickly eased my fears of hiring movers instead of doing it ourselves. A few hours after they drove off with all of our possessions, Paul, the owner, called us to tell us the trailer had caught fire on their property. My husband and I were not in a position at that moment to drive to Odessa to see the damage, but fortunately, a friend of ours went out there and managed to take a photo for us before Paul ran him off the property. Later, I called Paul on the way to Odessa to make sure he would be there for us to see the trailer. He initially refused to let us go out there for "safety reasons". When I explained that neither one of us were interested in climbing around in the trailer at sundown and we just needed to see it to get closure as we were in complete disbelief, he was still reluctant. I kept pressing him and finally he agreed to let us stand at the gate of the property and see it. Little did we know until we got there that the trailer was several yards from the gate and facing the opposite direction where we couldn't even view the damage. Thank goodness we had just one photo, otherwise we would have been unable to confirm that they were even our belongings in the first place, or have a general idea of the extent of the damage for months to come. Our family had to leave town the next day, a month before Christmas, and move into our new home with nothing but overnight bags, without ever being granted the right to view our things to get closure, and with so many questions about what really happened. We had to move into an empty house with our 4 year old daughter. We had to sleep on air mattresses for over a month. We ate Christmas dinner standing up because we didn't have a single chair to sit in. Our daughter cried every day because she was scared and hated living in an empty house without any of her precious things that meant so much to her. We had to explain to her that we were never going to get them. She's terrified to move again because, this being her first move, she thinks setting all of our belongings on fire is just a normal part of it. And the day it happened, Paul stood at the gate of his property and had the audacity to compare our loss to his--a trailer and having to miss court seats at a basketball game. While Paul was cooperative with our insurance company and eventually let us on the property to go through the trailer (2 months later after sitting out in the wind, rain, and snow), not once did he offer to provide a refund. When I asked about it, he seemed to think the $0.60/pound coverage we would be receiving from his insurance company would count as a refund. My husband and I are very reasonable people (especially considering the $130,000+ loss we endured), and all we asked for was the bare minimum--the insurance Brothers was required to give us for the damage ($7,200) and a simple refund ($7,675). Instead, he acted like it was up for negotiation and, after all of the emotional trauma we'd been through, we found ourselves having to relive all of it in order to defend our request until he finally gave in. For him to think we deserved any less than that to begin with was a slap in the face. The extent of the damage from the fire was so bad, not even a professional fire investigator was able to determine the cause. To this day, we still have no answers, but the fact of the matter is that Brothers packed every box, loaded it onto their trailer, transported it to their yard, and then it went up in flames through no fault of our own. This situation was handled so poorly and unprofessionally by Brothers from start to finish. Here we are, almost a year later, with all of our family heirlooms, memories, and priceless possessions destroyed and lost forever. Paul was not going to pay us the insurance he was required to give us within 90 days or a partial refund without us signing a full release first. The amount we agreed on was $14,500 (STILL less than the insurance+refund) just to close the book on this, assuming he paid it within 10 days. What we received was a check for $14,000 and no original signed document for our records as we requested. Of course, it doesn't matter because the contract is null and void, by its own terms, since he did not meet the payment amount by the due date. I don't leave reviews, but I think it's important to get our story out there to protect other potential customers. Perhaps Brothers is great to do business with if everything goes according to plan. We did not have that opportunity, and instead experienced a devastating loss and a level of unprofessionalism that is, frankly, disgusting. I told them when I made the agreement they would need a BIG truck as I have some massive furniture. I left the couch, washer, dining table and chairs and bar stools and still they damaged many items some that cannot be replaced like an antique baby carriage and antique foot board to my bed they also damaged a dog cage by loosing part of it ($85 to replace), a bed support ($90 to replace), my 55" TV (which will costs me hundreds to replace) and a large outdoor cushion box (this too worth hundreds), they only offered $55 for dog cage, TV and cushion box then I explained I found other items damaged I submitted those as directed they have not returned my calls or emails in 4 months now and i have received no $ from them. I would NEVER recommend this company for moving. First of all, I have NEVER written a review... EVER. But after my SECOND experience here, I feel like I should. This company moved me, the first time, from Colorado City, TX to Big Spring, TX (30 miles). I packed my whole house. Half of my things went back home with my mom and the rest came to my one bedroom apartment in Big Spring, as I knew I would only be there for a short time while I was completing a project. This job was right around $900, which was more that I was expecting but I have never used "professional movers" before. Fast forward around 4 months later: I only needed someone to help me load my Uhaul tailer and pack a few items for me, as I have no family or anyone who could help me in the area. My house wasn't packed when they arrived early, so they helped me pack my kitchen and loaded what they could into my trailer. Everything wouldn't fit into the 6X12 I rented, so once my truck and trailer were loaded I told them they could go ahead and head out. This took 2.5 hours. ALL THEY DID WAS LOAD MY TRAILER AND PACK MY KITCHEN. THIS COST ME $765!!!! It was less than $400 labor ( as their rates were quoted around $155 per hour ) The "material" (which wasn't itemized, by the way) was $275. They did use some boxes, I think one bundle making it around 25, some tape and shrink wrap to wrap my headboard, footboard and washer/dryer. They also used two packets of white wrapping paper for the dishes and breakables. All I am saying is, use your own packing material and beware of hidden fees. I called to speak with them about the issues I mentioned. Instead of trying to make things right, he only defended himself and the company for the outrageous prices claiming only "industrial grade packing material is used". Nothing was made right and I had to pay a fortune. NEVER AGAIN! I will add that the guys who moved me were very helpful and worked fast. Rather than rant with opinions, I'll just share the facts about what happened with a scheduled move. The day before the scheduled move, they called and said they couldn't make it and rescheduled for several days later. To their credit, they said they would do the move for free, which made my wife (who was handling the move) be accepting of the postponement. On the rescheduled date, they were a complete no-show! Simply didn't show up - no communication whatsoever. The window was 7am-9am and at 9am when we could finally get ahold of somebody at their Corporate offices, they told us they would be showing up momentarily. Then still a no-show. After another couple of hours we were able to get ahold of the same lady at the Corporate office and the story totally changed - she basically said there "were issues" and we'd be contacted by the local manager. My wife didn't get a call until about 5pm that day - think about how infuriating that is - to prepare for a move twice and nobody shows up the second time after cancelling the first time, and no proactive communications - they just didn't show up. We were just left hanging. Even with today's typical poor customer service this takes the cake - simply unreal! We called another company who was very gracious and helped us out of this huge pinch that Brothers created for us, and they saved the day. So if you want to schedule a move, and have the risk of simply having the moving company not show up, this is the one you want! read more

Where do I even start? We moved to Austin in June 2017 and had Brothers move us. The experience started off fine-Paul got us a quote, which was reasonable, and seemed to have everything under control. Then it all went downhill. On our packing day, they brought half the number of people they promised, then let us know that putting everything in the van would have to take place late the next day (this was off schedule from what we were told). They did not start loading our stuff onto the van until 11 PM the night before our actual move date. They worked until 3 am, then got on the road with us around 8 am. When we got to Austin, we found out that they had elected (without telling us) to leave some of our stuff in storage back in Midland because they didn't have enough room, including all of my husband's office stuff. He works from home, so this was a huge problem. My husband had to drive back to Midland, load our stuff out of storage and bring it back to Austin himself. After all of this, we began unloading boxes and realized that in two of our wardrobe boxes (one of which was filled with my clothes), they had placed chemicals from our pool in the bottom of the box, so the bottoms of the boxes disintegrated, ruining the wood floor underneath them and the clothes in them. I have never written a nasty review, but this is a terrible company. Please do not make our mistake and use them for your move. read more

They moved my sister (in town in Midland between old and new house) and did a great job! They showed up on time, were prepared with dollies, blankets, etc. and got right to work. They took around 2 hours - which is the minimum. They took good care of her stuff and were considerate and polite. I would recommend them without reservation! read more
