The service is fast and although the person who does your brows differ depending on the time and day, the staff is kind and well trained. If their work isn't to your liking (or they miss a hair) you can literally ask them to make adjustments. Just keep in mind that if you need any adjustments, get it done prior to leaving the vicinity, they're usually pretty nice about trimming off some more. Also, if you have super sensitive skin, maybe opt out for the lotion at the end. read more

Went to get eyebrows threaded , stopped in this place in the mall that was totally empty (which should have been my first sign) they had me electronically "check in" on their system which took me through a bunch of screens with repetitive questions, it became a bit frustrating. The actual threading took under 3 minutes. Very rapid treatment then charged $14, leaving all the threaded hair all over my face , never cleaned my face up or brushed off the hair. The 2 ladies working there were short to the point and rude. Not a fan . read more

It's a quick and easy service. At most I have waited 10 minutes. They do accept walk-ins (which is mostly what I do). The prices are reasonable. I always get threading and it costs $12. They listen to what you want but sometimes it feels like they want you in and out which as a customer doesn't make me feel welcomed. But they do a great job and show you the final results and ask if you want it changed or not! It's my go to place and will still come back here. read more

TERRIBLE SERVICE!! My sister and I both came to get out eyebrows done and we were the only customers in the store. Both the ladies there were not doing a good job on our eyebrows. We stopped to look at each other's eyebrows to tell how to fix it, and one of the ladies screamed at my sister - "SIT DOWN I HAVE OTHER CUSTOMERS" as if we were children!! Extremely rude!! There was literally ONE person who had JUST walked in. After that, she was in such a hurry to finish and she did such a terrible finish!! Would never recommend!! It's summer so Pryanka (my go to threader, who is AWESOME) is out of town, but next time I'll just pluck, that's how bad this place is sometimes. The young lady working today was horrendous. She didn't understand what I was saying and my eyebrows aren't even cleaned up, no shape at all they just look like a thick uneven lines of hair on my face . Why hire people that don't know how to thread properly? Providing a half ass service is a horrible business practice. I am pissed. I've been here several times. I've been letting my eyebrows grow for over a month. The last time I was here Bidia did them and they were phenomenal. What I got now was mediocre at best but when I went right back in to discuss it, the woman's response was to take more off when I impressed upon her that I do not want thin eyebrows and I get married in a month. I told her I did not want more off and that I was really disappointed to where she just raised her voice LOUDLY and said: OK THANK YOU BYE and waved me off. Brow Art 23 has been in the Oaks Mall for quite some time now, and although I couldn't give a rat's hairless tail about my BROWS, I did notice right away that they did upper lip threading. Today I came in and went through with it. For those of you not in the know, "threading" is someone taking a cotton string and quickly moving it back and forth over your skin, trapping the hair as they work. So, like waxing, it is someone forcibly removing hair from your skin. PopopopopPOP. It stings. But it is fast and very effective. No chemicals, no cuts, no wax headed where it ought not to head. $7 (plus gratuity) for a smooth lip? Most cost-effective therapy I ever had. Brow Art also does eyebrows, the sides of the face, arms/underarms, and legs. Do be aware that they are stationed in the mall with full windows and no privacy screens in case you're fairly shy about being publicly defuzzed. I absolutely love this place and am a regular. There are two things that I MUST do no matter how broke I am and that's get a pedicure (I recommend Happy Nails) and get my eyebrows done. My skin is really sensitive. Too sensitive for waxing which doesn't give you as clean a look as threading does. There's more precision involved in threading and it definitely is an art. The process can be painful but then again, what kind of hair removal isn't? Those ladies know what they're doing! Since there are only a few members on staff, they definitely try to remember the regulars. After my third time, they knew me by name and knew exactly how I like my eyebrows done. I went on a Monday evening. I had Sarita do my brows. I highly recommend getting her to do your brows. I was worried, because I'm a college student and normally go home every few weeks, so I just get my brows done there. But with covid I decided to try a place in Gainesville. Some of the reviews scared me, but I saw one that said she was good. I'm happy with my brows and it was not as painful as usual, which was shocking, because it had been a while and I had a lot of extra hair. The first time I went here it was on a Sunday and the girl who did my eyebrows was very professional and kind. I mean it hurt, but the girl told me what to do and my eyebrows looked great. The second time I went in, I had a wedding to go to the next day and I really needed to get my eyebrows done. I walked in at 8:45 pm and I knew that the mall closed at 9. There was no one in the shop. I sat down for a minute and an older woman walked in talking on the phone and told me they were closed. I told her I just needed my eyebrows done and she said that she had already turned down people before I came in, so she had to say no to me. As far as I know, stores in the mall have to stay open when the mall is supposed to be open. That made me upset but I just went next door to Regis Salon and they took care of me. read more

This place has very few recent reviews so I was hesitant to try it, but I am one happy customer! Two of my roommates have tried this place and loved it, so I went on their recommendation. The whole process is very quick; no appointment needed! I was in and out in under ten minutes. I have very sparse Asian eyebrows, and emphasized to the lady that I only wanted a clean up and to keep them as thick as possible. She was very accommodating, and I'm not sure if the lady I had was just really gentle but it didn't hurt as much as threading usually does. The price is $12, which is standard, but don't forget to tip! All of the other eyebrow places in Gainesville that I looked up required appointments, so I'm glad I found this place. Also, I love the way threading looks on eyebrows over waxing so thats why I go here.Today the lady gave all her clients an attitude and did a poor to horrifying job. All because she hates her boss James Zabihi, whom she did nothing but complain about instead of properly taking care of her client. She was short and abrupt with the customer before me. She hurried her clients and just wanted to get done with us already. She kept complaining to the other employee about how she better not be on the schedule next week and her boss is a liar. In all fairness the other employee took good care of her clients. She talked to them, asked them if they liked her work, if anything needed improvement, and didn't participate in the bad employee's ranting. My lady would get mad at me if i didnt position my hand right even though she never told me where to place them! I was extremely nervous about getting my eyebrows threaded, but the way these employees thread your eyebrows makes them look much sharper and fresh compared to getting them waxed. As I looked in the mirror my eyebrows were obviously uneven- one being way too thin even after I asked for just a clean up. Shouldn't it be the job of the employee to see this and try fixing it? I went in and the lady immediately got to work on my eyebrows. She didn't ask me what I wanted in my eyebrows. The actually threading was well done, quick and for the most part painless. When she showed me my eyebrows I thought that one arch looked slightly higher than the other. When I asked her to even them out she did without any issue. Overall good experience. read more

So if I would have wrote this review before today I would have given them a 5. However, today has left me in tears, literally. All the other times I have gone there it has been absolutely wonderful. Today, however, was really bad. Every time I have went I got the older lady and she was wonderful. Today was a younger girl and she was by herself. I don't care if you're super busy, you take care of your client because people won't come back if you do a bad job. Obviously she should not have been left by herself. She called, "next." while she rang out the girl ahead of me. She asked if I just wanted it cleaned and I said yes. Then she mumbled something about rounding and an arch and I was like I guess. I'm use to the other lady just doing what looked good. She just cleaned it and went with my natural shape, as I asked for. This new, young girl rounded my eyebrow that had a natural arch and arched the one that was naturally rounded. It looks bad. And she must have clipped the hairs too short because my once full eyebrows are like see through. She gave me like 5 seconds to look at it and then directed me to the register. I didn't realize until I was in the car and immediately got upset and cried. Why? Because my wedding is next week! Here I come eyebrow pencil and tweezers!! IF I do back I will never go to her AGAIN. I went to Brow Art 23 about a week ago to get my eyebrows threaded and they turned out HORRIBLE!!! It was the worst shape I ever had for my eyebrows and it was very uneven and terrible looking. The people who work there don't even care about what the customer wants, they just want to get their job done. After going there, my eyebrows got very red and I started having acnes around them, it is awful. Brow Art doesn't even have a sink for the employees to at least wash their hands, and this makes them very unsanitary. I do not recommend anyone going there. read more

I love the work that the ladies do...once they take the time to notice that you are in the shop. Because it is conveniently close to me, I frequent this salon often to get my eyebrows threaded. Unfortunately, I am always waiting while the ladies are tending to their children, talking on the phone, or tending to some other activity that is not work. Today, was my last time waiting while the worker sat across from me in the empty salon, and talked on the phone as I (the only customer) waited, and waited, and waited. Needless to say I left. I have given this salon many a time to do better, but :sigh: there has been no progress. Go to another salon that will treat you with respect as a customer. I have gone here once before over the past few years. The first time I went I had never had anything done to my eyebrows before so they had no shape so when I got them done I thought they looked fine. I then found a new woman and she did an amazing job shaping my eyebrows and I loved them every time she did them, but she just raised her price to $18 which I feel is way to expensive for eyebrows so I went back to this place because I did not want to pay that much anymore. At the beginning of the appointment I told the woman I liked the shape and arch of my brows and I just wanted them cleaned up but she did not listen at all and totally changed the shape of my right brow which caused them to look very uneven. I have had my eyebrows threaded ever since I was a teen, and I can say that it is not a painless experience, but it is bearable. I have been to Brow Art 3 times now and I'm seriously thinking of never going back (so long as I can find another threading salon). On my first visit, I was assigned to the younger woman who works at the chair nearest the glass windows. She was rough, and impatient, and the threading experience was made more painful by this. When she was done, she "demanded" a tip at the registrar since i paid with my debit card. I was taken aback. I usually always tip people, but I've never had it demanded before. I gave in, of course. The second visit I ended up with who appeared to be an older, more experienced threader. I was tense and expected to once more be roughed up. Alas, I was not. This woman was gentle, and took her time. At the end, she did not demand a tip (I still tipped her though). On this last visit today, I once again ended up with the woman on the end, near the window. She was even more rough than normal. Breathed heavy on my face, and as i winced in pain, she grew more upset. I winced because her thread was rubbing against my EYE LID. Well, this didn't stop her and soon she ripped the thread across the hairs of my eye lash and then INTO my eye. I'm still feeling sore on my CORNEA! It was only then that she was startled into actually communicating to me what she wanted me to do (where to hold). At the end she rung me up at the registrar and had the audacity to once more DEMAND a tip. I'm a quiet, usually calm person (so that's why I probably end up with this woman), but at this point I was fuming. Torn between ever going back or not, i gave her a dollar and left the mall completely flustered. I'm not saying avoid this place, I'm just saying, avoid this young woman, and be VERY assertive about what you do or do not want as they eat away your face with the thread. read more

I've had my eyebrows done here on 3 other occasions and never had any problems. This last visit was awful. The stylist saw me and right away said, "okay, you're here for a cleanup" (of the brows). I told her no, and that I wanted my brows shaped with a bit of an arch, not too thin, and then cleaned up. She proceeded with the threading and my brows came out archless, too thin, and uneven. I told the stylist that and she said, " you can't do arches with your brows, otherwise they'll come out too thin." My eyebrows were thick enough for her to shape them into arches the first time, but since she botched up on the first round, now there was not enough eyebrow for her to work with. My 2 biggest issues with the stylist was that she didn't ask for my input or listened to what I said, and when I asked her to go back in and shape my eyebrows so that they both looked even and clean the right one up so that the outer edge of it was not thicker than the inner end (end closer to the bridge of my nose). She did reshape my brow again, however, the result was still poor. My brows were still not even and poorly shaped. Her attitude was unprofessional and I got the sense that she just didn't care. Like I said, I've been to this store 3 other times and never had any issues. The previous threaders have always been able to give me the slightly arched brows that I asked for above.
