She even took hair out of my actual brow. Why?? When I mentioned it she claimed she just took off a little. She definitely took off more than that. The upselling is annoying. Avoid if possible. They don't shape your brows to frame your face, they just remove hair. I asked her to keep them fuller, but now she just hacked my brows off & over plucked them. She took a while and then gave me a mirror even though I knew she didn't finish the job before looking. I asked her to clean them up. I've been to this location a handful of times, only during the weekends. On every visit except the last, I believe I was seen by Rosa, who was always very friendly, quick and thorough. She always gave my temples a much needed massage while using cotton balls to lotion my newly threaded brows. Unfortunately, I was not seen by her on my most recent visit. My brows came out fine, which was of utmost importance to me. However, I didn't like that: 1) the lady filled in my eyebrows with a dark gel powder (too dark for my liking), 2) she tried to sell me some product afterwards, and 3) she wanted me to pay in cash so her tip would be in cash. I thought this place was fine, as long as you don't mind being in full view of people in a mall. Of course, this is also the only place I've ever been to have my eyebrows threaded, and I have only been on weekends (so I get Rosa, not the other person). The place was clean, Rosa was pleasant and quick, and I found threading to be pretty painless. Yes, there was a little sensitivity afterwards because my skin was reacting to all that hair loss, but I'll take threading over having to pluck my eyebrows by myself. read more

I went here on a whim bc it was the only eyebrow threading place on open on Sundays near me. I've been getting my eyebrows threaded for 4 years and gone to various places. This was definitely the worst experience. The lady threaded them haphazardly without any precision. I just wanted them cleaned up and it seems like she just removed hair randomly. Go to Rina's Eyebrow threading off of hillsborough - great service and cheaper. Eyebrow threading has become my go-to over the last couple of years, as wax is too harsh on my skin (think it has to do with the skincare products I use). The pain of threading is minimal to nonexistent on the brows. However, it's way too intense for me on my upper lip, so I had to completely abandon that idea. I've found Brow Art 23 at International Plaza to be inexpensive and convenient, but inconsistent. If you wind up with a bad thread stylist, it may cost you $12 and two weeks to fix a bad thread job here. My advice: Call ahead and ask for Rosa. She works weekends only. Her brow-threading skills are excellent, she's consistently delivered on multiple consecutive visits, and I've all but abandoned my amazing salon in favor of this quickie, no-appointment-necessary option. read more

I had had enough of Frida Khalo. A girl must do what she must do. As a friend of mine taught me: "To be beautiful, one must suffer." I had kept putting off going to Brow Art 23 out of sheer laziness, but the problem became obvious when Amy, the lady who does my nails, kindly offered to wax my eyebrows. Forget the humiliation I stored as she carefully placed the pink and white acrylic on my nails. She was willing to change her profession of nails technician to cosmetology expert in order to help me... Yes, she was right. My eyebrows had become so long I could easily use them as part of my bangs (if I had any.) Thank God she was kind enough not to mention my Cantiflas mustache. As she glazed my nails with lacquer I pondered if I should volunteer as a Chewbacca for the upcoming Star Wars film. I don't like waxing my face. I have burned eyelids and scalded my upper lip. "Unfun" and "unpretty." Friends baffled as to what to make out of that "sore-looking" new mole I was displaying. Never again. So I walked my Khalo self to Brow Art 23 at International Mall and suffered for beauty's sake. I have really bad luck with Threading Stylists (as soon as I get used to one, she quits, which is not an excuse but explains my resemblance to Cousin IT.) The young woman who tended to my hairy problem did an amazing job, but it was her last day! She assured me that the other two stylists who I had met when I walked in are as great which is a consolation of sorts. I had forgotten the rather rough tingling sensation. The ONLY place I will go to for my eyebrows... I love the girls here and they are very friendly. My eyebrows always come out even and very clean. I leave my brows grow out for 4-6 weeks just because I like them thick and fluffy... The girls here do a great job , they take their time and make sure both brows are even. I tried to inform her that for future reference she should advise those that are waiting for service prior if she knows it's going to be a while for them to be serviced. I usually like this place. However when I visited today I experienced awful customer service. The woman didn't even say hello, didn't get off the phone, or even acknowledge me. Eventually she told me to sit in the chair. She didn't sanitize her hands and continued to talk on the phone throughout the service. At the end I gave her a gift card that I had bought on a deal at brow art. I paid $20 for the card. After I had signed my receipt or $12 and left she chased after me to tell me I owed $4. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!! I went to this place today to get my eyebrows threaded because I had a pretty good experience the first time I went. I've encountered poor customer service in my life, but this experience tops the charts! Where do I even begin?!... 1. I don't know if the thread was dull (I don't know if that's possible) or if she just didn't know what she was doing, but it was extremely painful. I've had my eyebrows threaded at least 30 times and it's never hurt this bad. When I was in obvious pain and needed her to stop for a second or two, she could care less. 2. After she was done, she handed me the mirror and I saw SHE BUTCHERED MY LEFT EYEBROW!!! (Her name is Neku (sp.) - Stay far away!) And no, I'm not over-reacting. I let them grown out for about 2-3 weeks, but they weren't that bad...all she needed to do was clean them up. I was really upset because I've spent a long time getting them to the shape they are (or were!) and she just plucked the left one way too thin! Even the right one is a little thin, but the left one is almost non-existent! A few hours after this tragedy, my cousin asked me what the hell I did to my eyebrows...she had no idea I paid money for someone to do this to me. 3. To make things worse...when I told her she made it too thin, she said, "I was just following the shape; they were already like that." WHATTT?!! Ummm no...they were not. I look at my eyebrows every single day and they did not look like this. 4. There were people waiting and I didn't want to make a scene so I figured I would just get my things and go...what can you do? I can't sew in the hairs she took out to make them look thicker. I wasn't even up from the chair before she asked for payment. No apology. No sympathy. Just "twelve dollars, please." I don't know who Rosa is (the other reviewers mentioned her) but if she's the woman I had the first time, she's fantastic. But, honestly, because of the way this girl handled the situation, I will never go back there. I don't care about the money. Its the fact that she treated me like I was just another $12...I took the owner's information and I plan to call Monday morning. Neko, if you're reading this, try and find some pride in what you do. The worst customer service. Store states that they are open during mall hours. Walk in at 8:25 pm (mall closes at 9) and noticed the lady was counting the money in the drawer. I asked if she was still open and she hesitated, I insisted if she was trying to close I could leave it was not a big deal because I understood the mall was closing soon. With an attitude she said have a seat. I took a seat and I told her I appreciated her staying open to do this. Again, with an attitude stated that she was closing when I came in.
