I love that I can order online and pickup in store. Very easy process. Store no longer has testers due to covid but staff is available to help and will open items so you can see the color before purchasing. I learned today that you have a 60 day window to also return items if you're unhappy. Which I do have to say they've been very accommodating to me in the past. With no having testers out, it's hard to judge your color so they've allowed returns of foundations and such. Masks required and distancing markers throughout the checkout line area. Right now they are having their Black Friday sales and I've gotten so nice deals! Some items are but available online for pickup or ship so it's nice to go browse the store for those. One feature they have on the app that I discovered today and love is you can scan items in store to view the price and see the color options. Apparently, Ulta approves and encourages the process of identity theft in order to get people to check out using an account. Today as I was making a purchase they required I give them a number so if I had any issues with the products I can return them. I said I can just return it with the receipt. At which point they informed me they don't accept returns unless you have a membership for tracking purposes. They then pushed that I use someone else account to track MY purchase. So be careful! YOU might be held responsible for violating a return policy that I, a complete STRANGER or bad friend actually violated. Whatever cult like membership requirements this company has, is ludacris. I will be sourcing my products straight from the vendor or Sephora from now on. All three people I encountered in this location were the worst kinds of retail personnel from the second I walked into the store. But someone has to work those low paying jobs. I was looking at the Briogeo hair products when a manager (I think she was a manager? She was a little older and was giving directions to other employees over her radio) asked if I needed any assistance. I first said I was okay, but then I approached her to ask for help, as I was confused on which products fell under the 2 for $42 promotion. She called over a different associate to help me, but when the other associate approached me, she seemed a little annoyed with me. When I explained that I was hoping she could help me find which products were 2 for $42, she just pointed to the sign and said they're listed there. When I clarified and said I was having trouble actually finding the products, she picked up the sign and literally just read it to me. I felt really discouraged (because obviously I can read the sign, I just couldn't find the products!) but thanked her for her time and moved on. I work in retail so I understand customer service is an emotionally draining job, which is why I make sure to be overly nice and very respectful, but I was also left feeling disappointed. read more

Worst customer service experience ever. I made an online purchase of 11 items & received a notice that all items shipped together. When the box arrived 2 items were missing. Ulta never let me know the items hadn't been shipped. I contacted Ulta customer service via text message. Got tossed around between agents & finally one said they would ship the items to me. I waited 10 days & still never received the items. I contacted Ulta customer service again, this time via phone, explained the situation to the agent & asked that the items be shipped overnight. She refused. I asked to speak with a supervisor. The agent placed me on hold & then hung up on me. I called back, requesting a supervisor again & again the agent hung up on me. After calling a 3rd time to request a supervisor, being placed on hold, & then hung up on again, I called back for the 4th and final time & told the agent to issue a refund. I also told the agent that i had been a loyal customer for over 10 years but because of this experience I would never purchase another thing from Ulta. She responded with "ok". I was desperate for a haircut and my regular stylist was booked. A friend recommended that I try Ulta. When I called, I lucked out that they had a cancellation and were able to squeeze me in. The entire team was friendly and created a fun atmosphere. Terry was incredible and I love my hair! I should have taken a before photo, but have attached one from a few days ago. This has been overall a very pleasant experience! I've been through color correcting many times while switching between a brunette (naturally) and a red head, however as many of us know, red is hard and expensive to maintain! I scheduled with Arlene, an Elite Stylist who was determined to make a miracle happen for me when I informed her how tired I was of having horrific looking hair. I wanted to get back to my roots (literally) so I could grow it out and focus on helping my curls opposed to color care. Arlene worked on me between her other clients to ensure I was cared for, and was a very colorful person who had more years of experience than I've been alive and a beautiful mess of curls herself so I felt confident in a potentially terrifying process. She gave me lots of good information, and made me feel cared for. She had me come back the next day as my hair hadn't reacted as planned to fix it, and I felt very cared for in the process. In love with my new brunette locks and love that she took extra care to match to my roots and not disrupt the natural hair that had come in. My retail experience was nice as well, I got help from several staff members who helped me shade match the Urban Decay Brow Blade to my new color so I can look sharp tomorrow for work. Everyone here is amazing, and I've heard the new General Manager has been doing a great job helping the staff transition. I had my haircut by Ms. Arlene. The first cut she ever gave me was amazing, the second was ok, but, the one I got yesterday is the worst I've ever had in my life. I don't know if I offended her asking her to watch a 10 second video of the cut I wanted since I couldn't explain it. When I tried to show it to her, she said, "I've been doing hair for so many years, I don't need to see a video" I was like ok... then, she said my texture hair could never have the bounce the girl in the video had, which bothered me because she's never seen my hair done. Also, I finally had my hair down to my bra strap, she said we only had to off an inch and a half. So why is my hair just past my shoulders now? The haircut I have looks absolutely nothing, not even close, not even near to what I asked for. I look like a grandma with my 90 degree layered cut. I tried so hard not to react yesterday I said maybe I'm not seeing it right. Let me sleep on it. Well I'm even angrier today. The worst part is I feel it was done on purpose. This is a wonderful brick and motor store with beauty products galore, high end, everything in between. I don't need to worry about counterfeit products. The only problem I have is the lack of customer service, the employees obviously don't want to be there. A very condescending store employee greeted me and made sure I understood the no touching of the products. There are hardly any testers especially with make up so you can't tell actual colors etc....the cashier didn't even look up at me to check out, she didn't even thank me for the donation I made to Children's fund. I have extensive years in this industry and she wore her frustration on her face with not just me but multiple customers at the front desk. After giving me attitude because one of her cashiers needed help with my transaction, she yelled "Well that's gonna have to wait, I'm busy" in a rude and demeaning manner to her employee. If she isn't fit to handle a heavy work load, maybe Ulta should think a little longer when hiring "higher ups". Victoria is a wonderful hairstylist, she assisted me from the beginning of my curly hair journey and getting the right color in my hair as well. When I first got engaged I knew I wanted to keep my natural curls on my wedding day. She helped me figure out whether it was best to keep my hair down, half up and down, or up. I went for a 90 minute facial here. While the facial itself was nice, I was cheated out of at least 10-15 minutes. I went in the room at 12:11, the facial started around 12:20, then she stopped at 1:25 and I exited the room at 1:30. Had a previous bad hair experience and went to Ulta for a fix. Stylist mixed the color wrong so my natural color didn't pick up any of the dye. After being at the salon for 3.5 hours she decided to start the color over. There was no manager there to assist her and I felt like she was just guessing. By the time I left it was 11 pm and the store had been closed for an hour. Woke up the next day and began flat ironing and noticed one side was significantly shorter than the other. I called the salon and talked to Michelle, the rude manager. She told me to come back and she'd "take a look". She was cold, made up excuses and did not make me feel like she was ready to fix the mistake her employee made. She said "they told me you guys were here late last night because you didn't want to leave with your hair the wrong color". Excuse me? Do you want to walk around with your hair two separate colors? I don't think so. She completely ruined the chances of me giving the stylist another shot. Too much attitude for a manager!!
