The church stands out beacon of faith for the Catholic community of Broward County. St. Gregory Catholic Church was established in 1959 under Father Michael Keller. In 1961 the parish was dedicated. In 1979 a fire destroyed the church but the congregation came together under the Reverend Martin Cassidy and rebuilt the church which opened in 1982. In 1988 the church opened a school. The present school was completed in 1995 and expanded in 2000. The school is open to students from PK to 8th grade and has been recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as an exemplary school. The church has a number of charities that it supports and you can volunteer in many ways to help the community. The church holds mass in both English and Spanish. Mass is held every morning, and seven times on Sunday. A complete list of mass times can be found on the church website. While visiting the church campus I enjoyed visiting the peaceful Prayer Garden that was completed in 2004. The Prayer Garden features a large fountain, statues, and benches for quiet reflection set amid trees and landscaping. In 2021 Northwest 76th Avenue on the east side of St. Gregory Church was renamed Cassidy Boulevard in recognition of The Reverend Martin Cassidy's accomplishments at St. Gregory Catholic Church. Cassidy who is from Ireland served as pastor from 1974 to 1991. He was a driving force in laying the strong foundation that supports the church to this day.

I moved to Florida Two and a half years ago and as St.Gregorys is five minutes from my home and my family children went to the school I began attending the 6:00pm mass however, during Easter I moved to the 10:30 mass as I was uncomfortable as a black person as the church base is more of a Spanish congregation. I usually sit between the fifth or sixth pew in the from the front of the alter towards the isle I have noticed from I have been going there no one ever sit beside me, if they come to my pew they enter from the opposite side leaving a wide gap between themselves and me, if you say good morning or good evening they pretend to speak no English when the time come for offering the sign of peace they look away from you waving their hands they never look you in the face they look everywhere except at you. Today just as the mass started two Spanish ladies said excuse me I came out into the isle so they could pass easily, they stood right next to me but as as the priest said be seated they again said excuse me, picked up their belongings and moved right across to the row opposite my seat which was more filled with their own people. The week before I stoped outside the portico where the priest was greeting people after mass I thought I would introduce myself as a new person to the church he greeted and spoke Spanish to those he met when my turn came he held my hand shook it said nothing and moved my hand to his right meaning I was to continue moving. I guess even when the word of God is being celebrated and the congregants have taken Holy Communion racism and selfishness is still the order of the day. How very sad I have attended mass at the Vatican met the previous Pope on a trip organized my previous Arch Bishop and have never had such a caustic experience at a Catholic Church.

There seemed to be a good amount of local parishioners as well as people visiting the area like me. The priest gave a nice homily and was engaging. I would definitely return if I'm back in this area. It's always good to find Catholic churches when traveling to fulfill the Sunday obligation.

We're from CA and it was conveniently nearby the Hilton hotel with one of the earliest times that we needed. Good air conditioning and all the pews had cushioned seating. Not crowded at all and there was no choir. Holy Communion was ministered from both the front and back of Church. The priest's homily lasted no more than 5 minutes, and Mass itself lasted barely 35 minutes. I'm not sure if they were rushing or were moving unintentionally fast, but I have never attended such a short Sunday Mass.

It's hard to believe how much it's grown through the years and I was surprised to hear that this was their 30th year. They now offer really fun things like hat rides and train rides for the little ones. They also sell things like hot dogs, popcorn and hot cocoa. They ask for a "donation" for the purchase of these things but who cares?! Do people really believe that it costs nothing to run a display like this so that literally hundreds of people can enjoy it every year?! Definitely a do not miss event if you like admiring beautiful lights this time of year. Check website for hours but I believe it's open most nights until 9:30 pm.

I felt a bit uncomfortable because there was no social distance and therefore I kept my mask . There are people still getting covid such as my coworker last week. They were doing alter calls to get rid of demons and what ever was stoping one from getting closer to Knowing God. Most of the people were dropping to the floor from having the spirit fill them. I was not one of those on the floor knocked out. However I had been to another church where this did happen to me once. These people were speaking in tongues and I guess this is a church that does this. In 2003, He spoke to my heart about Ezekiel 3 and Ezekiel 33 while I was on the mission field in Nicaragua: "Now it came to pass at the end of seven days that the word of the Lord came to me, saying, 'Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; therefore hear a word from My mouth, and give them warning from Me: When I say to the wicked, 'You shall surely die,' and you give him no warning, nor speak to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life, that same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at your hand. Yet, if you warn the wicked, and he does not turn from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but you have delivered your soul" (Ez. 3:16-19). I started operating in prophetic ministry, largely with warnings I didn't like delivering--but these warnings spurred strong prayer and intercession among the people. I was obedient to share what I heard and saw and started writing prophetic columns and eventually books. In 2007, the Holy Spirit woke me up in the middle of the night to share a prophetic word about a Great Awakening. You can click here to read this powerful call to prayer of which I would not fully grasp the depths until seven years later. In 2010, the Holy Spirit opened my eyes to the prayer and worship movement at a new level through the International House of Prayer in Kansas City. I received a strong revelation of the power of the harp and bowl model to engage the hearts of a generation in anointed, enjoyable prayer. In 2012, I worked with a small team to launch a church plant in South Florida--but something wasn't right. I knew God had called us to start a work but it was burdensome and the commandments of the Lord are not burdensome (see 1 John 5:3). I was sure we missed it but did not know how, so I stopped everything to seek the Lord. It was during that time that I landed at IHOP-Miami and sat in the prayer room for hours. My spirit was leaping for joy. After some time, the Holy Spirit told me, among other things, to "Make prayer your life's work." Unwilling to move prematurely, I prayed over this for another 30 days. On May 27, 2012, a group of five of us launched IHOP-Fort Lauderdale in Hollywood, FL. It was both Pentecost Sunday and the Global Day of Prayer. This small but powerful team started day and night prayer five days a week. In July 2012, we established a Bound4Life ministry in Broward County. Bound4LIFE is a grassroots prayer mobilization movement focused on the ending of abortion, the increase of adoptions and the reformation of government and society through spiritual awakening. In November 2013, Rodney Thompson and his family moved down to Fort Lauderdale from IHOPKC and helped us build a stronger infrastructure for prayer and evangelism--and establish what was prophesied as a "pipeline from Kansas City to Fort Lauderdale and back." In February 2013, we established a Luke 18 Project on the campus of Florida Atlantic University. Since then I feel I have grown so much and I love my Greenhouse family. This is a great church for students, families, singles, you name it!
