It was a family evening so we went through the family friendly trail. In the beginning your greeted by a scary dude who tells you the story of the witch and all the people she's possessed and to be prepared for all encounters. The atmosphere was perfect having to actually walk through the forest section of the park. At night theres the flashing lights that makes things look really creepy..it was perfect. After escaping the witch and her possessed it was nice to just hang still in the park. Music is played and lots of open space for the kids to play. It's the perfect spooky treat for all.

This carnival was located in Pembroke Pines at St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church. The carnival takes place all weekend long from Thursday through Sunday. We went on a Friday night and arrived around 6:30pm. This carnival seems bigger than the last one we went to at St. David Catholic Church and not super busy. Everyone says it will gets busy on Sat and Sun. I suggest getting the unlimited rides wristband for $35 if you know you'll be at the carnival for a few hours and the kids will take advantage of unlimited rides. Worth it. Otherwise, each ride is about 4-6 tickets and tickets cost around $1.25 per ticket. Or you can do 40 tickets for $40. You do the math. Lol. There are food vendors lined up with the games. Then the church has a food tent where the money goes to the church. But you have to buy food/drink tickets. No cash or cards taken at food tent other than the food/drink tickets. Tickets are $1 each ticket and there is a minimum ticket purchase of $20. Of course. We got wings which came out super hot and fresh and crispy. But a tad salty. Also got guava empanadas and chicken empanadas which were tasty. We let our friends use the rest of our food tickets. All in all, we had a good time and nice that it wasn't overcrowded or super busy. Carnivals remind me of my childhood. Happy to see our kids enjoying the carnival with their friends too.

The exhibit is whole was really interesting. We spent a lot of time there. One aspect I didn't like was that you have to scan your finger print with your name to make an "avatar" to activate some of the activities. I don't like giving my finger prints or my sons when we don't know what will be done with that information after the exhibit ends so some of the activities we couldn't do. And for the ones we could do some of them were broken. Still had a lot of fun in this exhibit. Highly interactive. Ends September 7 2026 A lot of the permanent exhibits were the same at 2020 which was cool to see my son interact and compare it to how he was as a babe. Again some of the exhibits were under maintenance but it didn't stop us from having a good time. My son loved observing the baby gators and learning more about them and some of the other Florida wildlife. The outdoor exhibit was interesting but some of the instruments/activities were metal and were HOT from the sun. Still nice to get a little sun and lots of shade. There was a good crowd but not too crowded Only critique is that there were two lines for tickets but nothing that designated what line was for what so a lot of people were in the member services line when we just wanted general admission. Other than that it was a great experience. There's parking right across the street in the garage and there's a bunch of restaurants to walk to nearby including a really cute restaurant next door called Emily's garden to get lunch and gelato. Highly suggest bringing refillable water bottles. You'll be in there for about 2-3 hrs if you take your time in each exhibit. We opted out of the holographic theater and the center kids play area but those would be fun to try when we go back

My nephew loved the iMAX movie Wild Asia (It was really well done.), the wind simulator and the airplane section. Unfortunately, a lot of the simulators didn't work so he was a bit disappointed. He still liked climbing in the planes. He also liked seeing the big thing at the front with the balls going through the thing that looked like a Ferris wheel. I loved the hockey exhibit. It was really well done and was neat to learn the history of hockey especially the Stanley Cup. Being from Pittsburgh, I loved seeing Sydney Crosby represented in the players area. It was also neat to see the skates, puck and sticks evolve over time. If you have kids (especially if they love science and now sports while the hockey exhibit) definitely come visit.

Some around 4 after running out of food or products. Still a beautiful outing for a first experience.

Most of the talent in the Haunted seem to have taken the day off. I love to see the creativity in Haunted Houses and none were memorable. However, the venue does a great job at the props props outside the haunted houses. It's great for kids and pictures. Although I went on a discounted rate, I still didn't feel it was worth it this year.

I don't know how much it costs but I wouldn't pay for this, especially with the long wait to get in. I won't go to a rodeo because I don't find abusing animals entertaining but a craft show on the other hand is right up my alley. This is an annual event sponsored by the town of Davie. The event was advertised as having 100 vendors. I don't think there were quite that many but they had a lot. Admission and parking were free. The tents filled the rodeo arena and outside it as well. People were selling plants, floral arrangements, zombie soup mix, jewelry, lights in alcohol bottles, soap, dream catchers, a tiny fairy garden, woodwork, stained glass, baked goods, clothes, bags, and a myriad of other hand made goods. They also had food and drink vendors and bounce houses and kids corner activities for children . The grounds were perfect for the craft show. There were plenty of clean bathrooms. The weather was gorgeous, the vendors were varied, and with the upcoming holidays it was the perfect time to shop. It is good to support the local arts community. This is a nice hometown event perfect for kids and adults.

November is Native American heritage month which makes it the perfect time to learn about Florida's…read moreNative People. The Seminoles were the only Native American tribe never to sign a peace treaty with the US government so they are called The Unconquered People. They come from a small band of around 200 people led by Sam Jones who helped them to hide out in the Everglades to avoid capture by the US government in the early 1800's to a Hard Rock empire with more than 500 million dollars a year in gambling profits from their casinos today. Today was the last day of the first annual 3 day Seminole Pow Wow Market Place held on the grounds of the Seminole Okalee Museum in Hollywood. This was my first time visiting the museum and I was impressed with the festival grounds and how nice the event was. The festival included animal shows, Native dances and drums, jewelry, art, and cloth vendors, and food including the highly touted fry bread. I got to see the Osceola Warrior Legacy who performed a demonstration of how Seminole women fought. I also saw the fantastic Iron Horse Dancers in their colorful regalia. Their presentation was amazing and I learned so much about the different dances. The final performance I caught was the animal show. Snakes and a vulture were shown but the show stopper was the alligator wrestling. The history of alligator was explained before the show. After the Seminoles were forced deep into the Everglades they had to learn how to survive and part of that included being able to handle alligators by themselves. Several ways to take down an alligator were demonstrated. During the last part of the performance Justin narrowly missed having his hand snapped off. I enjoyed all of the craft booths, food, and especially the performances. Entrance to the event was completely free but I took a few things home with me, I had so much fun and I look forward to returning next year.
