I just moved to the area and have been looking for a dermatologist. I went for a skin check yesterday. everyone who worked at the office was so kind and seemed happy to work there. I asked the receptionist if she had any small samples I could try of a specific moisturizer. She gave me a full sized bottle of one to keep. I was so pleasantly surprised! The PA was very patient with me and answered all of my questions. The assistant was a young lady that had a pleasant personality. it was a great experience and I'm happy that I found a great dermatologist close to my new home. read more

***PLEASE READ**** This doctor does not truly care about his patients. He rushes through the visit (my visit was 5 mins). Literally looked at the discoloration on my foot and said it was normal, but sold me some of his creams which he said would help bring back the pigmentation (it actually had no impact on the effected area). I was later surprised to have received a statement with a charge of $400 for the office visit. It is obvious that his "patients" are just a transaction. Dr. Huo prays on most individual that trust his judgment for maximum personal gain, with minimal to no effort on his part. No Hippocratic Oath practiced here. read more

Not sure how this doctor has positive reviews. I came in with some discolouration on my skin and he looked at me for a few seconds then told me I had Lupus. He told me that my skin colour might come back in a few years. I was in his office for maybe 14 minutes tops. No biopsy or blood work was done to confirm anything as he said it was not necessary. After doing my own research I discovered I had a common fungus infection and treated it with OTC medication. I really wonder if this person is a legitimate doctor. read more

I went to see Dr. Huo to have little cosmetic work done on my face back in July for a Ridiculous price he gave me. After the surgery my eyes was swollen for almost 3 weeks and I called and told me it's normal after the surgery, just leave it alone and it will go away and I was so afraid to touch my face due to the surgery because I don't want to get infected. After over 2 months, spots on my face supposing to be removed and still there and I called him and he was so rude to me over the phone and screaming at me. Okay so I contacted broward dermatology at 8:15 am and was able to get an apt for the same day at 9am! I have a problem area on my chin and had decided that morning no more acne. This had to be taken care of. I don't want to look like a hormonal old lady. I walked in and was greeted very nicely. I must of waited like five minutes tops and was seen by Dr.Huo. He knew exactly what I was feeling and what I wanted my outcome to be. He gave me choices on treatments and explained in details what I needed to accomplish to have clear skin. He told me I should be all clear in two months just in time for my bday! I can't wait! I will be seeing him to follow up and I'm looking forward to it. The office was very cleaned and organized. First let me preface my review by saying making my appointment was very easy. The doctor answered his own phone which left me apprehensive at first but after my appointment I realized this is a smart doctor. No dealing with people who don't know what they're doing or can't speak properly. I like this technique. All docotrs should try it. Dr. Huo -the father was very personable and kind. He took his time in explaining everthing. I felt like i was in the classroom-which was good. And he answered my questions everytime-even when I asked them more than once-and I did!! I am writing this a few years later. Only because I now went to a different Derm Dr. and realized just how bad Dr. Hao was. He RUSHED my appointment, even though the office was empty. Brushed off the freckle on my lip and totally disregarded the questions I had about the mole/growth under my nose. He said it wasn't medically necessary to take off and I would have to pay over $300 to remove it plus lab fees. He said goodbye and got my co-pay. The new Dr. I just went to took it off with no hesitation AND sent it to the lab for just my co-pay. She spent time with me and did a full body review even though I just stated I had only 2 major points of concern. Do yourself a favor, pass on this Dr! read more

It was an awkward experience overall. It seemed like a one man shop as Doctor was the only one present besides me. He answered calls, verified insurance, schedules appts, etc. He was pleasant and professional. Visit was relatively quick but I did only request to evaluate my upper body. I have been to quite a few dermatologist over my life even travelled way out of my way for some because of the reputations they or their clinics had, yet this one was by far the best. The biggest difference is the time he spends with you and he seems like he truly cares and goes above and beyond to do it. Other dermatologist I've seen would see me for 1-2 min max tell me the same thing as previous visit and schedule me a follow up and the cycle continued. Not Dr. Hao though, he explains thoroughly what's going on and options he gives you and wether you need to come back not just doing it to make money off a follow up appointment. He answers every question you may have and in detail to make sure you are informed, and you can tell because of this he is very knowledgable in his field. (Acne in my case but I asked about other things as well) He even went out of his way to help find affordable prescriptions for me because my insurance wasn't covering it. I've never experienced something like that before I was used to doctors peddling their products on me and paying out of pocket for things none the less. This review is about a year old and I should have done it a long time ago. Recently I had no insurance yet faced a dermatological issue I couldn't ignore any longer and reached out to him to see what he could do. Again nothing but 100% kind and helpful with no pressure. He answers the phones himself and does most of the clerical work as well so the personal experience is from beginning to end incase you forget something or another question pops up (happens to us all). I highly recommend him, and hope this little review helps those of you struggling to find a good dermatologist you can really trust/rely on and I hope it helps him grow his business because doctors and genuinely good people like this truly deserve our business. read more

Dr. Huo and his office are great!! My two biggest criteria for my doctor are 1) competency and 2) waiting room time. As to waiting room time, my appointment was at 2:30 pm and I was being seen by Dr. Huo by 2:35 pm. Solid so far!! Next, he took his time in asking the nature of my visit as well as taking down my medical history. As I was there for an overall check up, he was very thorough and he explained everything he was doing and what he was looking for in the exam. Lastly, his philosophy is to err on the side of caution which should be a must for doctors but unfortunately, many times it is not. I went to Broward Dermatology a week ago and I am so glad I did! I read other reviews and I want to share my positive experience with Dr. Huo. There was no wait to see him, and he knew right away what my issue was, and what to prescribe. I felt so relieved because I just couldn't get the hand eczema under control and he told me what caused it and what to do about it. I saw another Dermatologist last year and they said it could be this or that, and gave me an RX for a cream that cost $ 800!!! I don't have insurance and Dr. Huo was very kind to find a prescription solution that was very affordable, as some of these skin creams can run into the 100s of $, this is very helpful. Let me give you an honest review from a real customer. I visited this office after reading exceptional yelp reviews. When I arrived there was only 1 employee working that day which was Dr. Huo. Meaning he would go to the front desk after seeing a patient and tell you what forms to fill out, he was the person to see you, and the person to charge you. This was really odd to me because when I walked in I was in the waiting room full of people with no one at the front desk to help you out. When I was finally seen, I told the Dr. that I had a terrible outbreak of ring worms. I showed him and he confirmed. He later prescribed two different lotions. I asked him if there was any oral medicine that I can take. "Yes if you would like to get rid of them quicker I can prescribe some pills" he replied. Umm I thought this was the whole point of being here? If not I would of just bought something over the counter. By the way, he has no personality. I tried to kid with him and make light of the situation and he was just serious the entire time. He never asked me about my lifestyle and activities I do on a weekly basis to prevent my ring worms from spreading. I had to learn on the internet that playing outdoor sports isn't a good idea as the sweat might spread the outbreak. I paid about $70 in medicine so far and yup, I still have the ring worms. I'm currently debating whether I should see my primary care physician and spend another $50 in copay to see what he recommends. All in all, last time I use yelp to recommend a practice that takes years to become certified. read more
