Made a quick trip here to take a look at what ingredients are available for dinner. This was the first butcher/ grocery store I have ever seen you can get a tomahawk steak for around $30. Great international grocery store. I come here mostly for Jamaican ingredients, super well stocked on fresh thyme, oregano, all herbs. Scotch bonnet, and cachucha peppers for my Spanish meals. I loved this pineapple showcase because they were all ready to be cut! Perfectly ripe and it worked well for me. The organization has gotten a lot better at this location. Great product selection; fish shop, meat market, and beer selection! My daughter ended up finding the Cholula Chili Lime flavor; apparently this is a hard to find flavor in grocery stores. Nice selection of seasonings for your cuisine of choice. Interesting selection of cheeses too! My daughter found an apple pie one, and a bacon one too-- now that is one I'll definitely have to come back for. My neighbor shops at this store so out of curiosity I came to the store . It looked all very well organized, and prices were about average to everyone else. Not as cheap as I wanted it to be, but maybe some days you get a better deal.. I like that they had a lot of different types of meats and vegetables and that it had a quick exit. Located in a strip mall on the corner of Pines and University, this meat and fish market is a little hot or miss for me. They have quite a large selection (whole back section of store) for their meat dept. while the fish dept. is slightly smaller but still carries a good variety. Sometimes the shelves are barren and other times they are ok. Staff does not always speak English. Some of the pricing can be confusing so definitely be sure to check whether you are paying per pound or item. read more

Of all the supermarkets this is one of my favorites. I absolutely love the meat section at is a huge freezer with lots of options (is super cold in there). I also love picking most of my fish at the fish section. I order my fish and continue shopping while they clean them out. Check out is usually pretty fast. This is a difficult review to post because I've always liked this place --- but the last time I shopped there, I got 2 chickens and a tri tip from Argentina. Both were on sale. Brought them home and threw the chickens in the freezer and decided to cook the tri tip that evening... opened the package and the WORST odor came from the package. The meat was MORE than spoiled. It had died and gone to hyll. It smelled so bad, I grabbed my garbage bag, threw it in the bag and walked it right out to the garbage. Same thing happened with one of the chickens. Thawed out the chicken, opened the package and again... the smell of death - spoiled poultry. Dear God, what an awful odor. Again, into the garbage and outside as fast as I could trot. I also took the other chicken out of the freezer and threw that in the garbage, outside. I wrote an email to the store and let them know something was very off with their inventory or whoever manages it at the Pembroke Pines store. They told me to let them know the next time I was in the store. Regretfully, I will not be shopping there anymore. Once bitten - twice shy. There are other stores that I can shop at. We live in sunrise Florida and we do our shopping for groceries every two weeks and this is the only place where we go and buy our meat and miscellaneous items. They have the best prices in town and the meat is always fresh. The only thing I can recommend anybody that goes there and you wear a jacket if you're gonna go buy meat cause it's very cold inside Other than that this is one of my number one supermarkets in South Florida to save money and to find quality food for the right price. read more

I was accused of not paying for my purchases yes accused of stealing. The female that approached me first was very unfriendly and hostile. The next person who was speaking to me, I asked her for a manager she said she was the manager. She was also very unfriendly and asked me for my receipt. I asked her why do I have to show you my receipt I paid for my items. I pointed out the cashier that took my money and gave me a receipt. Unfortunately, they both spoke Spanish and I could not understand everything that they were saying, The only thing I understood was that the cashier was saying that she did not remember me. Long story short I eventually show them my receipt my proof that I was not stealing, and I did pay for the items in my cart. The manager never apologize for the horrible way that I was treated. Having heard plenty of wonderful things about Broward Meat & Fish, I wanted to take a look for myself. I finally had the perfect excuse to check them out. I wanted to bake scallops, and well, if you know me, I'm very picky with seafood. I popped in to check out the selection. What I found was rather extraordinary. So much meat. So much fish. My eyes popped out of my head upon going in. I really didn't know where to start. And did I mention they also have a hot food bar where they sell pastries? I felt they have everything. Freshly-made bread, exotic fruits, and the variety of cheese could give some other competitors a run for their money. The cheese, specifically the burrata, was cheaper there than most supermarket chains, but I still have found it cheaper elsewhere. Nevertheless, it's a worthy thing to make a note of. The roses they had, too, caught my eye. Very pretty and abundant. The amount of herbs? Cheap and diverse. I ended up going in for scallops and also purchased parsley and scallions. Some of the prices were just too good to pass up. The amount of spices, too, were vast. They also have a beer and wine area. Plus, they cut your meat to your preferences and the quality of the scallops, at the very least, is fabulous. I made my scallops just fine. I only wish I had soaked them in lemon longer, or heck, even milk, but now I'm rambling about my own cooking adventures. Will definitely return. read more

I come here often for protein, especially steak which is reasonably price. I like that they have the big slabs of meat that I can portion myself. Paid $70 for a NY strip whole piece and got about 12 1- 1 1/2 inch steaks out of it. If you want mushrooms the selection isn't great, but they have plenty of everything else. Fish selection is good here and they will cut them to your requirements. They have a huge selection of all kinds of ethnic food and spices. After seeing all the commercials and hearing rave reviews from friends, we popped in on our way home from picking up our vases from Hollywood Hot Glass. The parking lot was packed and we were worried that there wasn't going to be any social distancing, but the store is big enough where that wasn't a concern. They have an area where they sell prepared foods and bakery items, and have a really nice selection of meats, chicken, seafood, breads & vegetables. Go to Broward Beef whet you want the best selection at great prices. I couldn't believe the smoked salmon that I got. It amazing quality. The deli had Cittero and Boars Had brand meats. The produce area is humongous with many items that I've never seen before. I picked up dandelion, lemons, garlic and ginger. The meat is what this place is about! I found grass fed filet mignon from Argentina for 7.99/lb. I looked at everything that they had in their separate cooler room. I will be back when my freezer has some space! In their other isles, I was wowed by the selection of better than bouillon. Who knew they made mushrooms bouillon? Their selection of spices and hot sauces was out of control good. The seafood department was very busy with customers and I could see why. The fish was fresh, plentiful and good prices. I will be stopping in here for seafood regularly. The highlight of my trip was the 4 lb. St. James smoked salmon. This is an amazing find. If you like smoked salmon, you've got to try this one. St. James is locally made in Miami. It's farther from my condo than the Lauderdale Lakes one, but when I visit my cousin in Pembroke Pines, I stop here sometimes. If you follow them on Facebook, you can check out their weekly specials. Also you can get on their website and check out the deals. Also, you can sign up to their email blast and get the information in your Inbox periodically. Lots of exotic meats to choose from....fresh beef short ribs, goat meat, tripe, oxtail, turkey necks, chicken feet, pork neck bones and more! They also carry U.S.D.A. Choice and Certified Angus Beef. You can also buy by quantity, getting the whole cuts, from whole briskets, tenderloins and top sirloin cap (picanha), to pork shoulders and whole pork legs. The store focuses on fresh items since more than 60 percent of the floor space is devoted to Meats, Seafood, and Produce, including items like fresh goat and oxtail, whole hogfish snapper, and yams, scotch bonnet peppers, and other island produce. Their Asian section is not as large as their Caribbean/Hispanic section but most of the basic things you need you will find. read more

Today marks my final visit to Broward Meat & Fish Supermarket in Pembroke Pines. I'm saying goodbye not only to the supermarket but to customer service that has consistently failed to prioritize the needs of loyal customers. On October 23, 2024, I spent nearly $400 on groceries, including five dried coconuts. When I got home, I discovered that several pieces of the coconut meat were spoiled after attempting to make coconut milk. I saved some of the spoiled pieces to bring back to the store, hoping for a simple exchange. The following day, I returned with my receipt and coconut pieces to request a replacement, assuming this would be a quick and courteous transaction given my history as a customer. What I experienced was far from it. The staff member at customer service refused the replacement, suggesting I didn't have enough evidence to warrant it. I explained my purchase history--an average of $300 a week--and that I had discarded the blended coconut milk when I found it tasted off. Her response was that she couldn't replace even two coconuts because "some customers lie about these things." I was left questioning why I, a regular and loyal shopper, would lie over a mere $1.99. Her comment felt dismissive and, frankly, made me wonder if my treatment would have been different if my skin color were different. I eventually left without the replacement coconuts, feeling disrespected and disregarded. Following this interaction, I reached out to the manager, hoping they might address my concerns more empathetically. Unfortunately, they offered little to restore my faith in Broward Meat & Fish. Though I've continued to shop here out of convenience, this incident has made it clear that other nearby stores, which provide fresher products and a far better experience, are well worth the extra trip. This is my goodbye to Broward Meat & Fish Supermarket, and I encourage anyone considering shopping here to be aware of the subpar customer service and questionable product freshness before spending their hard-earned money. read more

The Broward Meat & Fish market is a market I frequent because of my Carribean background. I can get everything I need under one roof. I like to get to the market early, because they do run out of carts and the market does get crowded. So get there early. The fish market always has fresh fish, the guys will prepare the fish however you need the fish prepared whether it's filleted, Bone in or Out, etc, The meat market has different cuts of meat, they will also prepare the meat for you as well. I almost opted not to write a review after today's visit, but as I read other reviews, I realized others have had exactly the same bad treatment I did. This store does not allow you to bring your own shopping bags into the store while you shop. It's an irritating rule that states very clearly how they view customers. This happened to me about a week and a half ago, and I naively handed over my rather expensive bags to the counter until I finished shopping. When I went back to get them, they were gone. There was no explanation except that "if they were put here, they would still be here". Not really acceptable, but they caught me on a day when I was in such a hurry to get home, and that was that. I went back today and was asked to put my bags behind that same counter. I explained what happened last time and the General Manager (Jesus) looked me directly in the eye and said, "you are lying". The problem is, I was not lying. Not one little bit. That is exactly what had happened. I asked if they could just give me a little paper or some sort of claim tag to show what I was leaving my bags with them. Jesus again barked NO. That if I wanted to shop there, I had to just trust them to watch my bags (keep in mind, this whole thing is because they don't trust me to shop with them ....so ...... hypocrite). In the end, I left the store and will not be back. The problem today was not even just the policy but the young inexperienced fellow they have as a manager (if he really even is the manager). I will be taking this up with the corporate office on Monday but seeing that others have had this exact problem should let the store know that it really IS A PROBLEM. read more

Went to get a whole brisket for smoking. I was surprised when I went in about how big it was. It's way more than a meat and fish market. There is a cafeteria serving hot foods. They also had empanadas and pastries. I got a couple of chicken and Carne empanadas. Both were good but could have used more filling to balance the meat- pastry ratio. Meat and fish selections were excellent. Plenty of fresh and frozen options. The grocery portion was also well stocked and plenty of options. Prices were good. This place is really sad, for the 3rd time in a row we're taken are father in law to this place and they have turned us away. We can't bring are own bags in the store, and each time we've notified the company by email and they said it shouldn't be a problem to bring in are bags. This time I went and asked the service personnel to speak to the manager about the issue,waited over 10 minutes and the manager never showed up. Do not go to this place they are terrible. They have zero customer service skills. They sell hot food at the deli but my food was served cold. When I asked them to heat my food up they said they didn't have a microwave. So, they took my food into the back to I guess try to heat it up the food but it was still cold. I expressed my dissatisfaction, and they acted as if there was nothing else to be done. So I asked for a refund they looked at me like I was crazy and said that I couldn't receive a refund nor could I exchange for something hot. I feel that the Health Department should go there to do a temperature check on all of the hot food that they sell as well as an send an ICE Officer to see if they have illegals working there. The food was so terrible till I wasn't even able to eat it so I just took a picture of the food and threw it away. In closing I am certain that there are numerous Health Code Violation. This place came across my feed today while I was browsing social media. The crazy thing about it is that this place is literally about 10 minutes from where I live and I never thought to stop and go inside until today. As I walked in the door the aroma of the food from the hot bar immediately hit me as if we were in a fight. Although it was hard deciding what to eat due to the fact they have a large selection, I went with the chicken wings combo which came with your choice of rice and a side in which I picked the vegetable rice and sweet plantains. The Styrofoam plate was so full with food that it wouldn't close properly. The chicken wings were cooked to satisfaction. They were nicely fried and flavorful. The vegetable rice was savory and also giving a nice garlic taste. The sweet plantains were also good. All in all for $7.99 I'm not complaining lol. The staff was cool and helpful and the place appears to be well kept. In closing, like the terminator said "I'll Be Back". You can get fish and meats pretty much anywhere in South Florida, what makes you stand out and distinguishes you from your competition is how you treat your customers. They offer a wide variety of produce, meats, fish, vegetables, desserts, etc! Their prices are reasonable and the store looks clean. The reason for the one star is due to the extremely rude and unprofessional behavior of the gray haired Cuban guy in the fish department who apparently HATES his job. He was miserable!
