His office did not even contact us to let us know the dog was dead. We called to check on the dog and then we were informed the dog was dead. He was very cold and lacked compassion. He gave us our dog back in a blue bag. He didn't even invite us back to see her in her natural state. We wanted to take our dog home but his office insisted she stay overnight. He indicated to us when he returned to the office after leaving the dog there overnight, she was dead the next morning. He should have just let us take our dog home. We feel that his office was cashed thirsty by our interaction. We feel that they were just creating ways to squeeze money out of us. I paid him money to help us, not hurt us or our dog. Our dog was our family. I do not recommend his services. I do not recommend letting your dog stay overnight based on my experience.

My pup was found to have cancer in her lungs by her normal vet. With the pandemic and its altering normalcy procedures, things were really hard to deal with my pup. As she took a turn for the worse, her normal vet would not see her to do a euthanize as their staff member s had contracted Covid. As she abruptly stopped eating and struggled to breathe I sadly spent two days trying to find vets that would take us and perform a euthanasia procedure of which non of my local vets would accept us. As I searched online I found Woodland and they not only were willing to accept us but they did it in the most professional and carrying manner I have ever experienced when putting a dog down. The technician and Dr had empathy and compassion to spare, they allowed me time to be with my pup to say good bye and treated my pup with the kindness during those difficult times. They helped carry her and wrapped her in blankets for her to stay warm. After the procedure they even were worried and asked if I would be ok to drive away. Right before the holidays I received a courier delivery of a gift (plant) from them with sympathy of my loss. I can say with all honesty that they were the best. When a get another pup, I will for sure be taking them to Woodland.

Compassionate Care was recommended to me by a friend, but also my regular vet suggested her services after I mentioned looking into at home. I will say my regular vet (North Dekalb Veterinary) is fantastic. I love them, they are almost like family to me. But for this painful event, I really felt at home would be less traumatic for everyone involved. I called Dr. J at Compassionate Care and set up an initial "quality of life" exam, just to see what an in home vet visit would be like- would my cat freak out even more since someone is on her territory? Well the moment Dr. J came in and sat down on the floor with my cat and treated her with such kindness and love I knew I had found the right person. My cat reacted so well to the visit- normally after taking a car ride to the vet, the rest of that day she can be a little disconcerted. But after Dr. J left, she was right back to her normal routine, relaxing in her favorite spot. Dr. J gave me a lot of advice on what to do over the next days/weeks to make sure my cat was comfortable, and also pertinent information on how to decide when the time was right to put her down. When that day came I was so, so upset to put my baby down- there is no getting around that. But the overall experience of this with Dr. J was as good as something like this could get. It was peaceful, no scary car ride and office visit, but also the way Dr. J treated my kitty was as if it was her own. She is so caring, you can tell she really loves animals and people alike. Not only was she there for my cat in her final days, Dr. J was there for me and really helped me get through this. I just cannot say enough nice things about her services. She is patient, thorough, thoughtful, a great listener, and never made me feel like i was over reacting, and answered all my questions and concerns with accuracy and tact. If/when I am ready to take on another pet I will not only use Dr. J for end of life services, if needed, but also for at home vet services. She really is a wonderful person and Dr.

I have a regular vet that I usually use (and am quite happy with their service), but my 16 year old cat always has a complete meltdown every time I put her in the carrier and take her the 3 miles to the clinic. Being that she had a condition that might be aggravated by the stress of a standard Vet visit, I tried Compassionate Care based on a recommendation from a friend that works with the Fur Kids Shelter. Dr. Jordan and an assistant (apologies for not recalling her name!), showed up to my house on time, and proceeded to give a thorough and ultimately a very helpful exam to my somewhat ailing feline (She took a look at my other cat as well). Dr. Jordan recommended a very simple course of action, and my cats are currently in a much better state! Yes, it is a bit more expensive than a standard office visit...That being said, I think the value in the convenience and care received was well worth it.
