Unlike most people, I'm not too fond of chicken. If I had a choice between pork and chicken, I'd definitely choose the pig. But I do recognize and appreciate well-cooked chicken, and it was a real pleasure I got just that when my boyfriend and I tried out Brown's Gourmet Chicken at The Hub, Greenfield District.
Before I dive into their yummy roasted chicken, let me just share how much I appreciated their staff. They probably have the nicest bunch of waiters any restaurant has ever had. They are very polite- exuding warmth and sincerity thru their smiles. Excellent service, really.
The venue has a very rustic feel to it so it could pass as a date place. Pretty romantic for a simple dinner out with a special someone. The interiors are dominated with a lot of wood so it instantly has that homey feel to it. Plus the delicious aroma of roasted chicken surprises you upon entering the restaurant.
Although there was an outside dining area, we opted to eat inside. My boyfriend ordered their roasted 1/2-chicken with rice. I ordered one of their set meals that come with roasted ¼ chicken, a salad and oil-based tomato pasta. I'm no master chef but I'm pretty sure that the chicken was perfectly cooked. It was juicy and tasty, and went well with my pasta. Soooo good, I can't wait to have it again!
The price is pretty reasonable. We shelled out about 300 each so it's not all that bad. I went back a few weeks after when I caught up with one of my friends over dinner. And guess what? She loved it too! read more
