Sweet Glazed Katcino (tocino x Katsu)
    John M.

I was a little cautious heading into Early Bird since it was pretty empty on a Sunday afternoon, but in the end it did not disappoint. I was tempted to get the Full English Breakfast but was intrigued by one dish in particular and so had the sweet Glazed Katcino, a tocino glaze put on chicken Katsu and topped with an egg over a mound of white rice. The chicken was super crispy and freshly fried and the egg's richness was a delicious addition to the mix. I couldn't finish it as the portion was fairly hefty given how heavy the dish is. Most dishes are in the 250-350 range which seemed fair for the quality and food on the menu.

The place and ambience was alright and provided a cozy feel which compliments eating hearty comfort breakfast food. We had the following which were arranged in descending order, bacon and egg nest (amazing, not too rich with a good balance of creaminess and flavour), puto bumbong pancakes (just alright, nothing special, didn't really deliver the expected puto bumbong signature taste), and french fries (do not get this, tastes like frozen ones). Ambience: Good, cozy and warm Taste: Good, most I believe would be a hit or miss, so choose wisely Presentation: Great, presented in a cute manner Value: Great, not too pricey considering the general location and also the ambience Service: Great, servers were attentive, and pay attention to requests Overall: Good, would go back when I am a bit tipsy

Omg! THE BEST breakfast place I've ever had, ever! We ordered: 1.) The Early Bird Full English - the sausage is amazing! More meat than extender. And the taste, it explodes in your mouth. What I mean is, not bland at all. The beans reminds me of the Hunt's pork and beans back in the days, which I really love. The egg, I requested it to be over-easy and they did it perfectly. The bacon was crispy. 2.) Viva Longganisa - VIVA INDEED! My eyes rolled for how good it was! It is very FILIPINO, meaning an orchestra of flavors were playing in my tastebuds! 3.) Adobo sunrise - Adobo without the excessive grease! The sour, salty, and garlicky taste of what a real adobo should be is present in every bite! 4.) Ultimate Grilled Cheese with Roasted Tomato Soup - love the tomato soup! It wasn't made out of tomato juice, you can literally see that it's puréed. For the grilled cheese, it was good but not that great for me. I mean, I would love my grilled cheese to have some stinky cheese smell... That's all. 5.) Coffee - not like Starbucks, so it means it's good! 6.) Halo Halo with candied bacon - the best halo halo for me. Even way better than Razon's Overall, a place to be for breakfast... Even dinner!

Best breakfast I have ever had. Split an order of the sausage platter and had the eggs Benedict. Great atmosphere and even better food.

We were looking for something different for breakfast and found this place nearby. We saw the Puto Bumbong pancakes pic on Yelp which is exactly what we're looking for -different from the usual buttermilk or fruit pancakes. Anyway, they were no longer serving it since it's seasonal and got this Yin Yang Champorado instead. It's a sweet rice porridge with rich Belgian dark chocolate and white chocolate served with sweet toasted dilis (fried anchovies) on the side! It is usually served with just evaporated milk on top but having the white chocolate flavor mixed in the rice porridge was delicious We also got the Adobo Sunrise where they used Adobo flakes and the Sweet & Spicy Tuyo dipped in their special sweet and spicy sauce served in a jar. Both came with garlic fried rice and egg. Service was great, thanks Mark and the place was charming. I recommend this place if you're in the BGC area. #herGOODEATSstorey #herTRAVELstorey

Came here for breakfast and love the decor of the restaurant. My favorite dish was the French toast fondue. You get to dip it in Nutella, maple syrup or cinnamon sugar. I like how the dips come in empty egg shells. I wonder how many they save a day to serve this dish Great place for breakfast. A must try!

Spiced Chicken. My staple order =)

Excellent customer service with delicious meals and plenty of options on their menu. This is our second time dining at Locavore but first time at Brixton Street in Estancia location. The staff was great every step of the way from seating, to ordering, to delivering our orders on a timely manner and until the very end. Our party of 11 ordered 2 of everything like to name a few of what we ordered are, Pakbet Ratatouille, Octadobo, Oyster Palabok sa Puti, Tapsilog, Boneless Lechon Belly, Dragonfruit chips and many more. I'd been wanting to try Filipino food, and this place came highly recommended by some locals. The food was incredible. I tried the sizzling sinigang, and it completely surprised me. The flavor was sour, savory, and comforting all at once. I also had the oyster sisig, which was crispy, rich, and perfect with a cold San Miguel beer. Every dish came out hot and well-presented. The restaurant itself has a great vibe!!! lively but not too loud. The staff were really friendly and helpful, especially since I wasn't too familiar with Filipino dishes. They explained what everything was and even suggested a few must-tries. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the Philippines. And I'll definitely come back next time!

The portion was moderate and it can feed 2 people. It was hot and crunchy and the sauce was pretty good. The pinakbet with pork liempo was awesome, please keep in mind that pinakbet in some regions are cooked without the sabaw (sauce). The eggplant was definitely fried. The bitter melon and the kombucha squash were steamed well. The pork was super crunchy!!! Please also note that one order of pinakbet will probably good for 2 people but I can definitely devour it on my own! The kare kare with crispy pork was also good. The sauce was slurry and not too thick. The string beans, banana heart (puso ng saging) and bok choy were steamed and cooked well. They were not soggy but crunchy. Also the eggplant was fried and added with the sauce. When you order kare kare it automatically comes with sautéed shrimp paste. This dish alone will probably feed 4 people. Overall the service was great, we did not wait long for the food, and we were seated right away since we arrived there around 11:45ish. The restaurant was clean and quite cozy. There's one bathroom for both genders. Total of all the meals including 1 sugarcane calamansi juice refill P1745.00 (also includes gratuity charges).

Back then, if you've been living in Manila for most of your life, the words "food" and "court" in the same sentence never really sounded appetizing. Enter Hole in the Wall. I've been here a few times already, but stepping inside its huge hip maze of interiors never ceases to excite me. I'm not sure if it's the thrill of choosing what meal to try next or just the nice aesthetic of literally everything, that excites me more. On my first visit, I made sure to first try the super popular fried chicken from Bad Bird. As a big fan Southern-style fried chicken, I wasn't disappointed. The crispy skin had a yummy seasoning that's new to the palette, very different compared to my other favorites, such as the Chickenjoy from Jollibee and the Pan Fried Chicken from Pancake House. And there's something about their side dishes that just completes the whole meal. The corn on the cob with bonito flakes, sweet and umami flavors melting in your mouth, was to die for. The coleslaw provided a nice acidic break from the saltiness of the chicken. The meal was a fun experience itself. Just the other day, I tried the Pastrami on Rye from Mr. Delicious and it was monstrous--just plain impressive in terms of size. I didn't even attempt to bite on the entire stack, using my fork and knife like a pretentious chick on a first date instead. Each bite off the monster-wich was packed with so many different flavors, though the pastrami still easily emerges as the hero of the dish. And let's not get started on the sweet potato chips. I'm not a big sweet potato-lover, but damn, the portion was more than satisfying. If there's anything I'd like modified, I just wish there was a bit more of the veggie pickles to cut through all the meat and fat. For now, I'll end this review right here. If it isn't yet so obvious, I'll probably be back here in no time to try a different food stall or two.
