I was a little cautious heading into Early Bird since it was pretty empty on a Sunday afternoon, but in the end it did not disappoint. I was tempted to get the Full English Breakfast but was intrigued by one dish in particular and so had the sweet Glazed Katcino, a tocino glaze put on chicken Katsu and topped with an egg over a mound of white rice. The chicken was super crispy and freshly fried and the egg's richness was a delicious addition to the mix. I couldn't finish it as the portion was fairly hefty given how heavy the dish is. Most dishes are in the 250-350 range which seemed fair for the quality and food on the menu. read more

What I mean is, not bland at all. The beans reminds me of the Hunt's pork and beans back in the days, which I really love. The egg, I requested it to be over-easy and they did it perfectly. The bacon was crispy. 2.) Viva Longganisa - VIVA INDEED! My eyes rolled for how good it was! It is very FILIPINO, meaning an orchestra of flavors were playing in my tastebuds! 3.) Adobo sunrise - Adobo without the excessive grease! The sour, salty, and garlicky taste of what a real adobo should be is present in every bite! 4.) Ultimate Grilled Cheese with Roasted Tomato Soup - love the tomato soup! It wasn't made out of tomato juice, you can literally see that it's puréed. We were looking for something different for breakfast and found this place nearby. We saw the Puto Bumbong pancakes pic on Yelp which is exactly what we're looking for -different from the usual buttermilk or fruit pancakes. Anyway, they were no longer serving it since it's seasonal and got this Yin Yang Champorado instead. It's a sweet rice porridge with rich Belgian dark chocolate and white chocolate served with sweet toasted dilis (fried anchovies) on the side! It is usually served with just evaporated milk on top but having the white chocolate flavor mixed in the rice porridge was delicious We also got the Adobo Sunrise where they used Adobo flakes and the Sweet & Spicy Tuyo dipped in their special sweet and spicy sauce served in a jar. I saw the listing for Early Bird Breakfast Club on Yelp and was excited to see a 24 hour breakfast place near my apartment during my month long stay in BGC. After I figured out that they are only open 24 hours during the weekend, I was still pretty happy, as a 7am opening works perfect for my schedule while here. They atmosphere in Early Bird is warm an inviting. I was dining solo and found the tables for two a cosy option for a solo diner. The entire staff was warm and welcoming when I entered and I was made to feel right at home. The menu is expansive to say the least. I am not sure how anyone could come here an not find something delicious. I opted for a Full English for my first meal here and a cappuccino to drink. The capp was delicious and the chocolate syrup design on top was well done and made my morning. It was perfect without sugar but I wanted something a tad sweeter and adding a single packet of brown sugar made it the drink I really wanted. The Full English itself was well made. I asked for the eggs to be over medium based on my personal preference... and one of them was in fact medium. The other was cooked solid which made me really disappointed. The hashbrowns were really hot at first... but given some time, perfect. The bacon and sausage were tasty, along with the fried bread. The beans were perfect and I could have just eaten those with the fried bread and called it a meal. Once I was ready for my bill, my server, Roland, was quick and responsive and I was able to cash out and leave quickly even though a party of 8 had just walked in the door. Overall, I am impressed with Early Bird Breakfast Club and I'll be back many times over the next 30 days to try the Adobo and Longanista! read more

I really love breakfast food. And, when it comes to breakfast food, this is one of my favorite places to go with my wife. I've been coming here for a few years now. In my opinion, the food here is consistently good quality. Taste wise, it's not really spectacular. When you're paying the prices you pay here, you expect them to use quality ingredients. However, I really appreciate that the plating is always well done, even throughout the years. They have a good variety of dishes that they do consistently well which comes in handy those few times I come back frequently. I don't ever feel like I only have just 1 or 2 choices in the menu so the experience isn't compromised. Bottom line, this place feels like a favorite shirt. It's not the best but it's comfortable and I like to keep coming back. If you come here, expect good quality breakfast food presented well in a clean and comfortable environment. But, don't expect spectacular new tastes. I wish I could eat here more often but unfortunately, as some people have already pointed out, the prices are too high to make having daily breakfast here practical. So, I come here when I feel like rewarding myself or my wife a nice breakfast. I would have given this 5 stars except in my last visit, there were some flies that got inside the restaurant and were very aggressive on our table. The waiter lighted a candle on our table which helped a little bit but the flies still kept coming. I don't know if that's really the restaurant's fault but it still interfered with our breakfast experience. read more

The Early Bird Breakfast Club is great because it's opened 24 hours and located in the middle of one of the Fort's busiest strips. While people are writing about being a great place for brunch with the fam, I say, it's a great place to recover from a long night out. After drinks with friends, Early Bird is always our go-to place to sober up before heading home. Dishes like their tapa and longganisa are greasy and salty enough to take you to a place of calm because dining here feels like you're dining at home. Save for the fancy interiors and plating, the food at Early Bird is straight to the point without doing anything over the top. Unless of course you're talking about their champorado that comes in both dark and white chocolate, but other than that, everything served here is familiar. Like I said earlier on, I'm a total sucker for breakfast food. I could live off of it. I totally enjoy their take on traditional Pinoy breakfast dishes. I feel that their grilled cheese with roasted tomato soup is best for when you're feeling under the weather. The first time I tried it, I had just been discharged from the hospital and I swear, it made me feel a million times better. If you want something hot but a bit sweeter, you could always go for their champorado - they added their own twist to it by mixing dark and white chocolate. Personally, I think it's awesome. Their tapa's a real winner for my friends trying to sober up after a night out. I tried it the other night and did not regret taking their advice. My only issue is that it's a bit expensive for what it is. Unless you have some money to burn, you can't really make it your go-to place to eat. read more

All Day Breakfast Joints have apparently been a huge success in Manila. I think it started 2-3 years ago and surprisingly the fad has transitioned into a staple kind of restaurant. Early Bird Breakfast Club does a pretty good job on their dishes but hey I'm not so into eating breakfast outside my house because I find breakfast dishes the easier to prepare (okay, aside from salad which is an exception). If you're in Fort Strip, you might want to check this place out - it's good to get their espressos (although I still really prefer iced cold drinks). Pair this drink with solid breakfast dishes like Viva Longganisa (okay I wish the Longganisa was less sweet!), French Toast Fondue (interesting dish), or the Grilled Cheese Sandwich with Tomato Soup (a classic thing to order). The restaurant is nice and pretty! So go ahead and look for your spot while you enjoy your meal! One thing I can commend is that the restaurant knows how to present their dishes quite well! It's almost like my day is brightened upon seeing the cheerful, cutesy interiors of Early Bird. They hand you a newspaper, which turns out to be their menu, and you find yourself torn between which dish to order. If you have a sweet tooth, try their Yin and Yang Champorado, a mix of Belgian dark and white chocolate, served with sweet toasted "dilis" on the side. I found their contemporary take on the traditional Filipino breakfast dish to be intriguing and well executed. You could also try their French Toast Fondue, although it's practically a dessert, to be honest. It's served with maple syrup, cinnamon sugar, and melted chocolate. Talk about a sugar rush! For brunch, I always order their Ultimate Grilled Cheese with Roasted Tomato Soup. It's a pretty large serving, because I never seem to be able to finish it. The grilled cheese and undoubtedly cheeeeesy, and goes well with the soup. Pair it with one of their juice coolers, or their coffees (by Craft coffee), and you're in for a satisfying meal. read more

Although a bit high-priced for the average consumer, the food and servings sizes are well-worth the price. More recently, their menus are served newspaper style - complete with a puzzle to solve, for while you're waiting for your food to arrive. The Early Bird Full English is the go-to order after your morning run or pre-dinner workout. It comes complete with everything on the food pyramid (sausage, bacon, mushrooms, tomatoes, eggs, hash browns, beans and bread), in all equal portions (more like a food cube, if you ask me). For those on the lighter side of the diet, I would go for the Ultimate Grilled Cheese with Tomato Soup. Each bite of the sandwich will ooze out cheddar, mozzarella and Gruyere, and dipping in that tomato soup will give it the just the right balance to savor perfectly in the mouth. If only price wasn't an issue (and probably the calorie count, as well), I'd come here every week! read more

Early Bird Breakfast Club is such a welcome addition to the breakfast scene and what makes it even better is how it turns breakfast on its head. It again shows how breakfast food can be inventive and that there's so much more to do with those classic dishes. Their Ultimate Grilled Cheese with Tomato Soup is fantastic. It looks beautiful too, with the three cheeses just oozing from the sides. The bread had that crunch, which is lovely, and all the cheeses made for a great sandwich. The tomato soup however was too acidic for me and a bit too thick. The Yin & Yang Champorado is a winner, and it perfectly transforms a childhood favorite to art. It's great! Early Bird is a restaurant that's definitely reinventing breakfast as we know it. read more
