They came and got my car, in the cold rain last winter, and towed it to their shop. Called and told me it needed a new started. Put the starter in and it was ready to pick up the same day! I highly recommend them! read more

They must have made this review their self to post I didn't find out until after I'd already taking my vehicle there it has not run right since there was nothing major with it when I took it out there they're all about making something else wrong for the next trip to bring it back I guess you're used to dealing with elderly people that has money I don't know I will never take even my dog to them LOL read more

I needed a transmission as my car was having serious problems. A very close friend of mine suggest Sharkey's and stood by their work. I wasn't hesitant as my friend knew whom to trust in town to business better than anyone. I called Sharkey's up and explained what I wanted to do. I wanted to by a transmission from a national retail seller. They did not see that as a problem and revealed that they had lots of experience dealing with the particular retailer. They asked me to bring the car down to the shop and I did. I told them that I need my car for a cross country trip and they said they would look it over and recommend any repairs that need to be taken care of before such a trip. I was informed of brake issues and a few other minor issues.They went to work on my car right away and returned it to me about 6 days later right after the transmission arrived from delivery. All of the mechanical issues were repaired at a magnificent price. New transmission installed and Sharkey's assured me that their work was under warranty and that I could contact any time if there was ever an issue. There were none. I visited two other auto shops in town and I would never return to those "other guys" to have my car repaired. By the way later on that summer I drove my car to California and arrived safely and with my car fully intact. Sharkey's has made me a fan. read more

Terrible experience with Brown's. My truck started and ran fine one morning, got out of the doctor's office and it wouldn't start. Had it towed to Brown's possibly ran out of gas. Specifically told him by phone to diagnose problem and call for approval before doing the work. Did $900 worth of work before they called and stated truck still wasn't running, approved $200 more work, because at that point I owed him $900 and it wasn't fixed so had to. After a month was called and told it was fixed. Final cost was 1,343. Instantly realized upon picking it up that it was louder and idled very rough. Drove it from Madisonville back to Providence and had my son and a mechanic friend look at it. Found the radiator fan wasn't even hooked up! A cap was gone off the valve cover and just taped up and a vacuum line was off. That's aside from it running very badly. Took truck back to Brown's showed him the fan, valve cover cap and vacuum line. Also mentioned it ran better before they worked on it. Scott was a arrogant jerk! But said he'd fix the three things I mentioned but that they had done all they could do as far as it running badly. Picked my truck up last night and was left a nasty note. They said the fan was the wrong size for my truck and that it has been zip tied in when they got it, which is possible it's been wrecked and rebuilt, but that they had re zipped tied it. It has not been rezip tied. First lie. Even if it were the wrong size etc..it had been working fine for 2 years and that does not in anyway excuse them not reattaching it and plugging it back in. They said my valve cover was taped when they got it, second lie. Lastly the note addresses my saying it ran better before they fixed it, Scott said that he didn't see how since all My Plug Wires were in the wrong holes when they got it. 3rd and biggest bald faced lie!!! When I brought it in I stated that I had run it low on gas and asked them to look at the fuel system first. They changed spark plugs, distributer cap, replaced the timing chain, said push rods were bent and replaced etc...this truck ran fine the morning it wouldn't start. Paid another mechanic to look at Brown's work. He said it was doubtful he even did the work on the timing chain, that he said he did and that it was very obviously the fuel injectors. Which was the first thing I asked him to check. Would not recommend this place to anyone. Scott is a bully and a liar. read more

Excellent service at a reasonable cost. Most importantly, these folks won't try to screw you over like the Nissan-Ford in Madisonville. A low beam headlight went out on my maxima, so I brought it to Nissan-Ford to diagnose the problem and was told that the entire headlight assembly had to be replaced for $1300. I did not receive any information regarding the exact source of the problem. Next weekend I noticed I had a radiator leak on top of the headlight problem. I took the car to Sharkey's on Monday morning and got the car back the same day (walk-in). The headlight (melted wiring harness connector replaced) and the radiator (brand new installed) were taken care of for under $300!!!!!!!!! read more
