Months went by with little to no communication. I had to keep reaching out just to get updates, and most of the time I didn't get clear answers. I interviewed, then hired, Mr. Carlisle at ALL AMERICAN LAW because he seemed to have said all the…read moreright things. Unfortunately, and after a $7,500 retainer, I found him be a less than adequate advocate for my divorce proceedings. In spite of several conversations and a thoroughly prepared "cheat sheet" with facts concerning my wife's cohabitation and shared debt, Mr. Carlisle proceeded through the initial hearing without being prepared with facts and evidence concerning either. For example: * I showed Mr. Carlisle a text I received from my wife where she provided her residence address, which was the same as her boyfriend's, as well as pointing out that her tax and similar records reflected the same. When the judge asked how we knew she cohabitated, his response was "his children"...this after I asked him to leave them out of it! My daughter did not speak to me for weeks! I was later informed my other professionals that it would have been better if that subject did not come up at that stage in order to not alert her to the tactic. I never received such guidance from Alan. * Alan did not bring up anything other than generalities concerning the shared debt that I have been carrying since our separation nearly 6 years ago, yet I provided all that detailed information on the aforementioned cheat sheet! Needless to say I received no significant relief as a result and still carry that debt. * In preparation for the hearing and other routine paperwork needs, I would get "RUSH" requests after the needed forms sat in his office for many days...often as long as two weeks. Alan and his staff knew I travel as a part of my job and could not always respond on very short notice. They apologized several times but nothing really changed. These rushes, in my opinion, contributed to him unprepared for the hearing. * My current counsel was told by opposing counsel that she had been trying to get specific forms from him for some time...to no avail! * His delivery was very broken...like he was "lost"...to the point the court reporter often gestured as if to say "well?" Finally, when I told him I was not going to retain him further, I also mentioned I may seek arbitration for the $1,800+ he charged for the court appearance. He then told me (and I have this in writing) that he will waive any additional charges if I change attorneys...but only if I don't pursue arbitration! I DO NOT recommend Mr. Carlisle as a divorce advocate!!
