My wife and I start our day by visiting Bruce Park every single morning with our fur babies, and honestly, it's become an essential ritual for us. There is something incredibly grounding about catching the park early in the morning, especially when there's a blanket of fog hovering right over the Duck Pond. We use this time to soak in the serenity and wonder of nature, establishing peace with ourselves before we have to give the rest of our day to others. As the oldest coastal public park in Greenwich (Robert Moffat Bruce donated the 100-acre estate back in 1908), it's just a beautiful, historic piece of land. It is always incredibly clean and impeccably well-maintained. The landscape transitions seamlessly from open wooded areas to tranquil ponds with benches and scenic salt marshes. If you are into photography, this place is an absolute goldmine for flowers and wildlife. It's a diverse sanctuary for both resident and migratory birds. Depending on the season, I've been able to photograph everything from Great Blue Herons, Great Egrets, Mute Swans, and Double-crested Cormorants to Raptors like Red-tailed Hawks, Ospreys, and even wintering Bald Eagles. The songbirds (like Carolina Wrens and Tufted Titmice) and winter visitors like Buffleheads and Wood Ducks make it a birdwatcher's paradise. Beyond the wildlife and walking/jogging paths, the park has a ton of amenities--a great children's playground, gazebos, picnic areas, and scattered public art and sculptures. For sports, they have baseball/softball fields, tennis courts, and even a lawn bowling and croquet court. Public restrooms are also available and kept clean. Whether you're looking for a vigorous morning jog, a spot to bring the family, or just a quiet place to sit on a bench and watch the ospreys dive, Bruce Park is a local gem. Lovely and well maintained park. Lots of parking available surrounding the ponds along the park paths. Lots of walking/running paths throughout the park. A few benches around the park. The large sundial sculpture is an interesting attraction. There is a little diagram nearby explaining how the sundial works. There are also a few sculptures there as well. Very safe with lots of friendly park-goers. Public welcome...no town/county/state restrictions to my knowledge. read more

I never knew a Park could be simple, yet beautiful. Having selected this Park on a whim, I wasn't sure what I was going to expect but I was pleasantly surprised to see ample parking spaces, walking paths, and a manicured area. On one summer day, my boyfriend and I began exploring by walking on stone paths atop a hill here we eventually came upon a Gazebo. There was an air of romanticism as the names of couples were carved in its structure and the sparrows sang an unusual melody in quiet of the dewy morning. After crossing the bridge characteristic of this park, we sat on a bench by the large pond in which the swans and ducks call home. The reflection of the trees in the water along with their slight rustling by the wind gave us such peace. Bruce Park definitely made my trip to Greenwich even more special! :) read more

Second visit meeting son and small grandsons 1/2 way between our homes. Works perfectly. Ducks for entertainment and path for walking around. This time found a gazebo atop a hill with stone steps. Spent a lovely hour walking and enjoying the park. Nice that the bathroom was open during Covid time.... read more

This is a lovely park with rocks to climb on, a wonderful lake, lots of nature, and free parking. It is a great place to go on a walk or take the family. The only downside is that you can hear the freeway from the park. read more

Bruce Park is a fantastic park located just south of I-95 in Greenwich. It consists of several spaces with roads intertwined throughout, so it is a bit broken up, and not one contiguous space. There's a baseball field, tennis courts, lawn bowling, and then a number of wooded spaces with picnic tables and walking paths. It's quite pretty in the autumn when the large trees are changing color. This is a nice park for going for a stroll or walking your dog, or having a picnic. Definitely a great community park for the city. read more

Amazing bike path bordered by lush gardens, private gated communities, a small lake and a rock wall bordering woods. Picturesque!

When my children were in strollers, this was the best place to walk. They loved the pond, watching the random small wildlife and even the cars going by on the highway. I know, the highway is very present in the surroundings. So if you are looking for natural isolation, this is not the place. But, if you are in the area and need a break, a place to exercise, sit by the water or have a picnic, this is a great park. The paths are nice for walking or running. There is even a work out plan provided by signs by the Town of Greenwich. People are typically nice or private, but I have never been bothered or treated unkindly. The tennis players are usually polite and entertaining. And, of course, this is a great place to walk the dogs!! read more

Beautiful, peaceful park. Took our wedding photos here in May 2007- it was a gorgeous setting. The magnolias were in bloom, the ponds were clear, grass was sooo green. We go back every so often to picnic and it's always just as pretty, feels intimate, and calming. read more
