I should have sued him when I had the chance. What a predatory practice this is. He preys on his clients when they're vulnerable and seeking therapy and convinces them to pay for his course, telling them they're so gifted and would be good at hypnosis. Older women who lost their partners, people seeking hypnotherapy for trauma support... so vulnerable and desperate. His job is to help them, not take advantage of their low point and convince them they'd be good at something just to make money. I was not one of them fortunately, but I saw a pattern and most of my class were women who he preyed on to get money out of them. Honestly I'd like to see statistics of how many students actually go on to practice because I'd say 18 of 20 students were his clients seeking support. I had actually heard about his school because a friend had gone to him for therapy, where they were convinced to pay for his course. I questioned a lot of practices within the curriculum because I was genuinely curious about learning hypnotherapy as a future practice for myself. When asking for clarification, he completely lost it on me. Threw a book and yelled at me and in front of everyone while he was visibly shaking and red in the face. Then demanded I go to his office where he completely berated me, continued to yell and used every single personal detail of trauma he knew about me, only to throw it in my face and belittle me, telling me I'm "too inquisitive". Several students quit after that. there used be a Facebook group of women harassed by him, but I can't find it anymore. When I asked for a refund to be mailed, he gave my personal information to a former student who kept calling g and texting trying to get me to meet them at Starbucks. Highly inappropriate. I felt so violated and almost ten years later, the trauma still sits with me. This man is dangerous and scary. Stay away! read more

Hello first of all I want to say hi I'm not in the habit of writing bad reviews, really not any reviews on yelp at all. But the the level of unprofessionalism and rudeness that this man displayed was shocking and I feel it needs to be shared. Upon reaching out to Bruce on behalf of my dear mother, who had just lost her husband (my dad), I inquired as to whether not he was able to help people with severe depression and anxiety. He listened to me quite nicely in the beginning but the problem was he had me on speaker phone and I could hear in the background that he was busy doing things or at least I heard the sound of a lot of movement and shuffling of things...I thought that was very odd and it was also distracting. Seemed a bit strange to put a potential client on speakerphone as you were busy organizing your office. I spoke with him for around 10 minutes regarding my mom's situation and he said he had helped over 10,000 people just like her. So I made the appointment for her, he took down her name, birth date, my email address and my phone number and scheduled the time that was going to be convenient for us to come and try to avoid the traffic from way east Vancouver. On the day of the appointment my mother and I drove just a little over 40 miles to the office and when we got there the door was locked and I immediately called his phone number. He answered the phone and I told him we had an appointment and that no one is here at the office. He said he did not know of any appointment that he had that day and asked what her name was so I gave him her name and he paused a moment as he looked. As he was looking I said "wow this is very strange..." And I mentioned it was a bit annoying. "Annoying" was the STRONGEST word I used. He asked me to refresh his memory on my mom and her situation so I did and I went into depth describing our conversation that we had three weeks prior. He claimed he had no memory of this and then I said "so you can't find her name in your system at all?" and he then said that he did not use a computer system. I said , "oh, ok then how do you keep track of people's appointments? Do you write it down somewhere, or do you just keep track of it in your head or what?" It was at that point that he abruptly and sharply cut me off and said this: "Listen! First of all you need to stop talking and listen for a minute here. I don't need this crap and I don't need to hear this shit from you right now! Clearly there was a mistake made and I acknowledge this, so at this point we need to figure out what we're going to do for your mom. Right now I am at an important (Doctors meeting that I can't remember the name of) meeting and can't get down there. So the best thing to do is just reschedule." At that point I was so stunned and shocked that I was actually very happy that my dear mother who was already in a state of anxiety and sadness did not go in to see a person like this. I told him I would ask my mother what she thought and what she wanted to do and after that I asked him, "can you please tell me what kind of crap and shit you feel I was giving you?" and he said "that is irrelevant and pointless right now" and then I said "well I would really like to know how I made you feel like I was giving you crap" and then suddenly he hung up on me. I went over to explain to my mom that he did not have her appointment down I didn't want to share with her the other details as not to upset her further. Then he called back and said that we got "disconnected". He didn't ask me if I hung up on him or anything he just immediately said we got disconnected, which I don't believe because there would be no reason to be disconnected in the heart of the city. Anyway, he then offered to give a free session to her, which was gracious and nice. I let him know that we would get back to him. Needless to say we will not ever be going to a person like this- incredibly rude, disrespectful, unprofessional, in my opinion very ill tempered and out of control. I feel this man needs to get some help for himself and some counseling and learn how to control his temper and to have empathy and care for other people and take responsibility in an appropriate way for his own mistakes and care about how it affects others. Perhaps also take a little training in BASIC CUSTOMER SERVICE & SCHEDULING. My mom was in a crisis situation and had hoped that this could help her, it only worsened her mental state. If you are looking for something as simple as weight loss, or needing something more complex, his way of facilitating your own abilities seems to have no end to its resource.
