Dealing with a debt collection law firm is not meant to be easy, but I had no issues with Dennis or anyone else I spoke with. All of the individuals were professional and courteous to me. I owned up to the debt, gave him a time table and got it paid off over the phone. I've never had to deal with any sort of debt like this before and never will again. Dennis strikes again! I am not usually motivated to leave reviews but when you call a law office to pay a judgement in full to them and they are condescending and rude to the point of trying to make a point that you are not as smart as the person answering the phone. Who then also assumed I did not read paperwork or their website. How about being aware that lay people may not know all the ins-and-outs of your specific pay website or practices and maybe just needed a little help? Just because someone is not of the profession you are does not mean they deserve to be treated so rudely. I called for the file number that was not included on the court papers and was needed for the pay site they use. They would not give it to me because it was for a family member, not for me. Even though that person was right next to me and able to verify identity. How funny was it then that I could call the court directly and they had the number in the filing and was able to provide it to me thankfully. Rude, condescending when it was completely unwarranted, its not like I was looking for PHI or PPI. What a condesceding jerk. Company owed money was MG&E. Do better MG&E it was a bill from during Covid and not paying it was in error, thought it was paid in full. Never heard from MG&E only this law firm. Sad. Not everyone is trying to get out of paying their debt, sometimes it is just a mistake or oversight and in this case we were trying to rectify it. read more

Customer service is absolutely awful. I called to try and pay my entire bill (from a hospital bill). I left a message with all of my information and no one called me back. The next week I finally got ahold of someone and they charged me $300 for court fees because now it has gone to suit, even though I have not received ANY paperwork from this supposed law office in months. Bruck Law Offices are the worst of the worst. Much like other reviews noted here, I experienced their inconceivably horrible "service" for a medical bill I had been working to resolve with Froedtert for a full year, trying to get an explanation of the charges and repeatedly getting nowhere. It was a first for me and not even a substantial bill. When I tried to inform them of my efforts, they couldn't have care less and I might as well have been talking to myself. They repeatedly said they had 60 days to get my payment. And kept repeating it. And repeating it. And repeating it. As if they were scripted and recorded parrots. Regardless of my repeated attempts to describe the status and lack of response from Froedtert. I then requested the detail of the charges from the law firm per their OWN instructions. Similar to other experiences here, Bruck did not comply and I never received an explanation of charges. Couldn't agree more with others here. These people are vile and scum. Their one and only goal is to get money, whether or not it's owed and by means of any ruthless tactic necessary. What's worse is that patients are caught in the middle of this process. Bruck is the kindest and softest "collections" servicer I have ever heard of. They called and stated I have a debt. I have to say, I have never met a more timid collections representative. I am pretty sure his name was Michael. I told him I wasn't sure the debt was mine and his response was (surprisingly) "OKAY". I was a little shocked. He then asked if I could "kindly check into the debt" to which I responded, "sure". If you are owed a debt and want to collect the in the nicest way possible, I suggest you call Michael at Bruck Law to represent you. He is quite the sweetheart and extremely patient. These people are scumbags... I have an outstanding medical bill that was sent there. I set up a payment plan after being bullied into it. Telling me they were going to garnish my wages... And telling me i need to ask family members for money. I called this morning to figure out my balance because i have been paying on it for a few months and talked to Dennis... He is the Biggest bag of dicks i have EVER talked to in my life. He tried to bully me once again into paying the rest of my balance. I told him he cant do that... If i am making regular payments. I recently have dealt with this law firm regarding and eviction judgement. Mind you, the only payment not made was in January and on January 22 received a court notice to appear before a judge. I wasn't even 30days past due!!! I spoke with Attn Dan and was told that mostly I would be able to negotiate with the property company regarding a settlement and then pay the remainder over time. After waiting to hear from them I finally called and was told the management company would negotiate and that I need to be out in a couple days. I'm a single mom, with no other family who works hard and lost my job and trying to get back on my feet. I was not able to speak with the attorney (Dan) I dealt with original and both time I called there o was treated horribly and like I was scum. Just got off the phone with one of the members of their debt collection call center and was not impressed with that experience. I've dealt with a couple different companies/firms as part of some ongoing health issues and this is, by far, the worst call I've had. That includes calls to firms seeking to collect significantly more money than Bruck. I (apparently) have outstanding debt from a series of hospital visits (none of which I received invoices for) and called to see if the account in question was one that I had been dealing with insurance and hospital billing about (there was an initial billing error that took over a year to correct, all the time I was receiving collections notices for it). The member wouldn't confirm a date until I gave her one in the same week of the visit I suspected then she confirmed that was included. I told her that the last time I had heard anything from insurance or hospital billing was a few months ago, so I assumed it was still being dealt with. She stated that it was now in collections, which they were pursuing. I asked how it could have progressed to her office without informing the affected individual (i.e., me) and she said that it wasn't her concern and that the debt was what the office was focused on. Seeing that I wasn't going to get any substantive information from her since they are aiming at getting their money regardless, I provided some information to find out about setting up a payment plan. This was an exercise in futility as "the best she could do" was split it in half. I expressed a bit of shock since I was expecting and prepared to pay it off over 3 or 4 months. However, she noted that the calculated amount accounted for "all necessary expenditures" (such as mortgage & car payment). I asked what would happen if I broke the payments up using their site (would the case progress to the legal stage (thereby incurring fees)) and she said "she couldn't provide legal advice." (This was also her response when I asked--in her experience--how long it takes for these things to progress to a court hearing and she almost started to answer before catching herself with a canned "depends on the court and region" answer. She knew both of those pieces of information given that they are on the notices) I, again, noted that the amount she was requesting would make it hard to meet those "necessary expenditures," like groceries and heat, to which she said "well maybe you shouldn't have let your bills pile up then." That was the point where I restated that I hadn't received any invoices for the visit, so how was I to know there was a bill? She rattled off a series of dates that were included in the total dollar value, to which I had to stop her and write them down since I didn't have invoices for those either. These people are the bloodsuckers that many of these reviews note. They are a predatory firm that deals in debts that could be "easily obtained," and use the legal system as their justification for seeking full amounts immediately. On a customer service level, it would be wise NOT to scold callers about their bills, especially when your automated menu shows you're specializing in profiting off of others' health issues. Collecting for a medical bill that I don't agree I owe. However, when on the phone with them they told me things like, "you should have worked this out sooner", "ask a family member for money", "cash in your 401k". When I told them we couldn't pay our mortgage and were behind, they threatened us with wage garnishment. They also told me that they would mail a copy of the bills to my house, of which they did not do before serving my 14 year old papers for us to meet in court. Bad timing on their part since we were at the hospital due to my dad having a heart attack that same day. Very poor consumer service. read more

They cold called me & told me that before they could tell me why they were calling, they needed me to give them the last 4 of my social and my date of birth. Uhhh....no. I explained to the rep that I don't just give that information out that he would need to explain why he was calling & his response was "I can't tell you unless you verify who you are." to which I responded, "well, you called me, soooo....sorry, I'm not giving you that info." The rep was then very rude & said "i guess i can't do anything for you then." After researching them, I found they do debt collection, mostly for children's hospitals. I don't have any debt & all of my children are very healthy. Seriously...how can you possibly cold call someone & expect them to give you your SS# & date of birth over the phone without telling them anything - that's ridiculous. read more

I mailed a payment including the statement as how much I could afford to pay monthly. This office was trying to contact me at an old address for past several months. When I called to explain to them I moved over a year half ago and only received the one statement. I was rudely told they don't care and I should have handed my mail issues with the post office. The next thing I was told was my choices either pay my bill in full ,which now included a court fee to dismiss the case or show up in court. read more

Very impolite and rude. Does not know how to answer general questions and acts very unprofessional. I called on behalf of a bill for my friend to see if she could come down after work to pay in full. In December they requested full payment via telephone which she could not do and she asked to be set up on payment plan which they refused. She now has the money and I called while she is at work to make sure she could come down to the office and pay the balance. We wanted to make sure it wasn't a waste of time since they filed a lawsuit this January. They told me they can not answer any questions for me at all, not even general. "So hey if I have a bill and you have a suit against me can i come down and pay it now or do i go to court." The rude representative, Joan, informed me that they do not answer general questions. Imagine I ask a general question to AT&T "hey if I have a bill thats past due by 3 months when will you shut off my service?", sorry you have to have your account info before we tell you our company policy. Sounds dumb, right! This is a joke of a company and their employees are a sure reflection of the image they are putting out into the public. What collection company makes it a pain for someone to give them their money. The owner needs to re-evaluate this approach because I am sure it would cut down company costs and increase their recoveries if they just had employees and policies to be helpful and assist the people in providing a reasonable way for them to fullfill their debt. read more

I read the other bad reviews and agree with every single one, including the comments on the manager Dennis. Children's Hospital claimed I owed them money which I didn't find out about for 6 years as I was out of state. Make sure when reviewing you mention there clients. Hopefully their clients will stop using Bruck Law Offices if they think they will also be negatively thought of through association, their clients choose to use Bruck Law Offices. As a result I will no longer will use Children's Hospital for any service or doctors affiliated. I found out I owed money by receiving a summons after moving back into Wisconsin. I immediately called Bruck to get the details and I tried to work with them and make payments and they just kept lying, bullying, and in general doing everything possible to deceive and manipulate. I documented every single communication, to show the judge I tried to work it out. Do not trust anyone from this office and assume everything they say is absolutely a lie. Do your research, when they tell you that you 'can't' do something or 'not' to do something, make sure that is the first thing you do. read more

There's an outstanding bill from my ex wife that she never paid (she never got a bill, explaination of benefits from the insurance, collections notice, nothing until these guys got ahold of it). She immediately offered to work out a payment plan but they flatly refused and told her all or nothing. I contacted them, dealt with an extremely rude paralegal who flat out lied to me, then I told them I disputed the charge and per the law they are required to send me written verification of the debt and cease collections until they do so, which they failed to do before filing a small claims action. I informed them I was going to counterfile and one of their lawyers (Nicholas Smith) started pulling the 'thats your interpretation of the law' crap on me even though it says in black and white "(b) If the consumer notifies the debt collector in writing within the thirty-day period described in subsection (a) that the debt, or any portion thereof, is disputed, or that the consumer requests the name and address of the original creditor, the debt collector shall cease collection of the debt, or any disputed portion thereof, until the debt collector obtains verification of the debt or any copy of a judgment, or the name and address of the original creditor, and a copy of such verification or judgment, or name and address of the original creditor, is mailed to the consumer by the debt collector." Pretty cut and dry, I notified them I disputed it, they shall cease collection and obtain verification and mail it to me. He then got extremely stand-offish. They refuse to settle for anything less than the full amount plus court fees in a lump sum payment, when I explained I had never seen a bill he told me I should have addressed it sooner (how the hell can I if I didn't know about it?), and he doesn't care if we're both on the verge of filing bankruptcy. He then said I should have addressed it in the month since they notified me. Oh I'm sorry, my dad just died and I've been a little busy since I'm the one that found him. Heartless slugs in that office, completely unprofessional. Luckily I know lots of people in upper management at most of the hospitals in the area and will be advising them of my experience and telling them to go to a better, more reputable law firm for their collection needs in addition to filing a complaint with the bar association. read more

After receiving a letter, I called Bruck Law Offices and spoke with Dennis the manager and in my opinion the rudest person I have communicated with in a very long time. I asked to speak with another rep and he said he trained them all to speak just like him. I inquired about any payment plan options they have to offer and was informed that after I disclose my income and expenses, he will decide what he will offer me. He indicated that the plans they offer are based on what the representative deems suitable. Feeling as if I had no choice, I began to disclose my personal information and he stopped me and told me he doesn't care about my bills just the large ticket items. I asked what he meant and he said only mortgage and car payments. He advised that he doesn't care about my utilities or medical bills or any other obligations. I was extremely appalled, I asked what payment the office would accept per month and he said $595.00. I advised that I am not able to make a payment that large per month. He then said, then we will take you to court and they will force you to. I have worked hard to restore my credit after several life circumstances and I would like to find a way to resolve this matter, however I am not sure how when I have been informed that all of the reps treat people just like Dennis. read more

My Ex wife sent me a garnishment notice that she received from Bruck Law Offices on a bill that she paid in full in 2005. The notice has the bill of some 500 dollars, interest for some 500 dollars and misc costs for 115 dollars. This bill was paid by my ex for my adult 18 yr old daughter at that time 9 years ago. I looked up the case number and I had a judgement against me for court costs for 230 dollars....A JUDGEMENT FOR WHAT!!!! These people are doing illegal garnishments adding charges for bills paid. How many other people are having wages illegally seized by these people. I need to contact channel 6.....as these peoples practices need to be exposed. The interesting thing is I never have lived at the address that the judgement was entered, not even the state and they find my work address but not my home address. They file a notice in the paper and mail a few notices to addresses people dont reside and get judgements and garnishments vs individuals who have no idea that any of the proceedings ever took place. I live in Illinois. The garnishment notice was mailed to my ex wife who lives in Cedarburg wisconsin. So our legal system allows this law office to continue these practices. I responded to the garnishment notice with my payroll clerk and she will be mailing that form to the law office that no garnishment will take place from my employer, as I would love to stand before a judge and have this law Office answer some questions and be exposed to there illegal and fraudulant practices. read more

A generally horrible law firm. I worked there and personally experienced the aggressive way that they treat not only the people they litigate against, but their employees as well. A lot of their collections are medical debt, and they spare no sympathy or empathy whatsoever. They use interrogation techniques to gather information about defendants so that they can garnish wages. They refuse to settle, and refuse to help you with a payment plan. They bully you into asking your family and friends to borrow money. As an employee, they constantly watched you and made a scene if you were 1 or 2 minutes late. You couldn't leave to go to a doctor's appointment. If you wanted a day off, you were subjected to inquisitions from the owner. Never mind leaving early if you were sick, you just got bullied and yelled at about it. The owner would send her personal assistant into the bathroom after you, and peek through the stalls to make sure you weren't on your phone. It was unreal. Don't do your business with Bruck Law Offices. The way they treat their staff and defendants is appalling. read more

If I could give this law firm a negative I would!! They are terrible people who have no compassion. If you have to deal with Dennis just be ready for the rudest person in the world. Hes a paralegal who thinks he a judge and knows it all. He is very rude and will make you feel so small. I tried to work a payment plan out with them and I couldn't even talk without him interrupting me. I then spoke to Rhonda (his boss) who was a nicer about the situation. I ended up paying in full so I didn't end up going to court. I called 3 days after to make sure everything went and was dismissed from court. Rhonda told me I could call and speak to her if I needed anything. They get there money and I ask her a question and she talks to me like I'm a huge burden. They got their money and she turned around to be a horrible person as well. Dennis was very rude from the beginning called me while as I was at work and I said I'm sorry what is this about and hes starts naming off amounts and very snotty goes "get the picture".
