Orchard Dental Group and Orthodontics, specifically My Kids Dentist and Dr. Lashica Young, have caused us nothing but stress, frustration, and disappointment since the departure of Dr. Z. First, the lack of professionalism was astounding. We were never notified that our trusted provider was no longer with the practice. We only found out after arriving to our scheduled appointment, despite having spent months building a relationship that finally made our daughter comfortable enough to sit in the chair alone. What followed was even worse. Dr. Lashica Young's behavior toward both us and our child was completely unacceptable. She kicked my husband out of the exam room, treated us as if we were a nuisance for advocating for our kids, and even told my daughter to open wide and not bite because "these hands cost a lot of money." This is not how a pediatric dentist should speak to a child -- or to any patient. Her bedside manner was harsh, dismissive, and completely inappropriate for a pediatric setting. It became clear that this environment was not safe or supportive for our children, so we made the decision to leave and found an amazing new dental home. Unfortunately, this practice continued to be a problem. Months later, we began receiving new charges that no one in the office could clearly explain. Every staff member had a different story. It felt like we were being nickel‑and‑dimed long after ending our relationship with them. We finally paid just to be done with this place for good. At 10:10 am, I was still waiting for my name and was the only person in the waiting room left. I asked and confirmed with the receptionist that my appointment was indeed at 10 am. They were 'finishing up with another patient', so I waited. By 10:25 am, I was done waiting. To make matters worse, not only was I late for work, but I was charged $75, by Dr. Peterson, who took less then 5 minutes to file and polish the retainer that had a sharp edge, which was my only concern. I contacted the practice manager Debbie and advised her of the scheduling fiasco, which resulted in my being late for work, and how I was upset about being charged $75, for something simple that took Dr. Petersen less then 5 minutes. Debbie said she'd discuss this with Dr. Petersen and call me back. Well, it's been 3 days since I spoke with her and she has yet to call me back. Two of my siblings are dentists. I called this place and they got me in that morning, the providers were knowledgeable and they had kid- friendly amenities, it was really a no brainer based on the service i received for me to switch, my husband really liked this place to and did my daughters follow up where we had determined the teeth had died and had to remove them to prevent any further damage for her adult teeth, as the parent who set appointments for the kids the fast friendly service I received from the front desk was stress lifted off my shoulders. So 10/10 for the teamwork and putting the client first because at the end of the day it was my daughter in the hot seat. And she actually wants to go back !
