I recently switched to a new dentist after being a patient of Dr. Valk, because I mentioned at multiple appointments about tooth pain. Dr. Valk could not find the issue at either of the appointments I made, through xray and physical examination, and I was shocked to learn from the new dentist that I now need a root canal on a tooth that should have been caught much earlier. My new dentist also mentioned it didn't look like I had just had a cleaning, despite having one not long ago at his office. This has left me disappointed and concerned that decay wasn't being properly monitored or addressed, especially since I was trusting that routine X-rays and check-ups would catch problems before they got this severe. I now have a broken tooth and a major procedure ahead of me that may have been preventable with more attentive care. I wanted to share my experience in case others are looking for a provider who takes a more proactive approach.
