I was assured that they were. However, after our visits, we received a bill for more than $300 for services that we believed would be covered by insurance. When I contacted the billing department multiple times to resolve the issue, I was told that the office charges more than what my insurance allows for a cleaning. Had this been explained upfront, I could have made a more informed decision about receiving care there. I was also disappointed with how the billing situation was handled. Despite repeated attempts to discuss the matter, no meaningful resolution was offered. We even received a past-due notice before ever receiving a proper statement outlining the charges. The clinical experience itself was not particularly positive. The hygienist was chewing gum during the appointment and was not especially gentle. My son was given fluoride treatment without anyone discussing it with me beforehand or asking for permission. The office environment also felt dated and less welcoming than other dental practices we have visited locally. Overall, between the unexpected charges, lack of communication regarding costs, billing frustrations, and the quality of the patient experience, this was not a positive experience for our family. At the next appointment, that I had gone into thinking I was just having a normal filling appointment, they told me while I was sitting in the chair that they may have to do a root canal on the tooth that they were filling a cavity, but they wouldn't know until they were inside my tooth. They were essentially telling me that my $200 appointment (I did not have dental insurance) could possibly turn into a $3,000 appointment, but they won't know until they are already doing the procedure. I know people who have gotten root canals, and I know that you can tell beforehand if you need one or not. I'm only giving 2 stars because once the hygienist realized I was internally freaking out, she told me that maybe I should just think about it and come back another time. Thanks to her I did not have an unnecessary root canal. I have been to a different dentist several times since then and the word root canal has not once been said to me since.

Dr. Mailloux took the time to address long-standing concerns we've had with our youngest son's tongue tie--something we've struggled to get a resolution to over the years. She explained how the tongue tie may be impacting his speech and may even be contributing to crowding in his teeth. Not only did she take the time to thoroughly explain these connections, but she also provided us with a referral to a speech therapist who can help strengthen his tongue muscle and work on mouth motor skills. She even gave us practical tips for at-home exercises, including the use of a particular straw to support tongue strengthening. After years of feeling unheard by other professionals, it was such a relief to finally have someone who understood and provided real answers. She also went above and beyond in discussing how our older son's mouth breathing could be directly linked to his sleep issues and even his ADHD. I actually followed her to this office. She is very thorough with cleanings and knowledgeable. I love Dr Katie and Dr Logan. Both are professional and great at putting you at ease, because let's be honest, most of us don't look forward to our dental appointments. They are also very honest about treatment options and costs. I never feel like I'm being coerced into treatment I can't afford. All of the office staff are very friendly. I have nothing but good things to say about this office!
