Fish Lake

Booked a guided Razor tour to Fish Lake from McCall. Eric was our guide. Everything from booking the tour, guide, equipment was top notch & professional. Will definitely use them again when visiting.

Top of the mountain during our tour

Wow! This was my first time with a real snowmobile ride and tour. There were 3 of us, my wife and 11yr son. We rented 2 skis, one 1 seater and one 2 seater. We opted for the level 1 (beginner) half day (4hr) tour at their McCall location. We couldn't have picked a better day with just above freezing temps and full sun! It was THE BEST time we've had in years and probably one of my most fun memories as far as outdoor sports go. I was just amazing! We arrived a few mins early to suite up with the gear that's provided with that package which means you show up with street cloths and they provide the rest. Next we headed out to the location where the tour started (about 10min drive) and they gave us a quick tour of the snowmobiles, how to operate, what to expect, and hand signals (since you can't hear while driving). Then we just headed right out onto the absolutely beautiful trails winding up the mountain side. We stopped often for our guide to check in on us and to take in the views. It was almost like being in a dream it was such a perfect view and experience. The equipment looked brand new and ran well. Our guide, Kai, was about the best guide one could expect. He was patient, knowledgably, and very fun. We felt very safe with him. Kai also showed us some fun tricks and even gave my son a "powder ride" (name???). 3/4 of the way through he stopped us at a cabin (which is really just a large shed) for some hot chili and hot chocolate which was just perfect for that moment to fill the belly and take a short break. Then we headed back. It's not cheap but based on my research, Mountain Meadows Adventure Rentals was very reasonable and with the experience we had, well worth it! Highly recommend these guys and also recommend asking for Kai for your guide.

New sleds, specifically the Polaris Matryx 650 VR1 was one of the main reasons I rented from Mt Meadow Adventure. The sleds were nothing short of amazing!! The gear (all outwear) provided was clean and more functional (kept me warm) than even expected. The goggles were NOT scratched and the helmet DID NOT stink. The check-in and check-out process was very easy. I will be renting snowmobiles from Mountain Meadow Adventure again.

Booking process and customer service is second to none. The owners, Ben and Rachel, truly take it upon themselves to ensure every experience is a great one. I rode a Polaris 850 for (2) days and the equipment and gear were both in great shape. Great terrain to ride in as well! I will most definitely ride w/ Mountain Meadows again and certainly refer them to friends and family! Thank you to Cree for trail recommendations as well!

Smooth, comfortable ride, even for my large frame.

My family and I spent an extended weekend at Tamarack for the 4th of July weekend 2020. There were five of us and we couldn't all fit in our ATV, so we rented a second (much better!) ATV from Ben and Rachel, owners of Mountain Meadow Adventure Rentals. We rented the four seater Polaris RZR XP 1000. Our rented ATV was in excellent condition, roomy enough for my big frame, and a smooth, comfortable ride. My family much preferred the rented ATV over our older ATV. Over this busy 4th of July weekend, I called the office many times with different questions and concerns about locations to visit, trails to get to those locations, and some mechanical questions. Rachel was always very polite, very patient, and incredibly helpful. During one of our adventures, we had some mechanical issues with our personal ATV. Both Ben and Rachel went above and beyond to help us figure out solutions and to get the repairs we needed. During the weekend, it was obvious that many took advantage of the great rental location at Tamarack to rent boats, wave runners, ATVs, and dirt bikes. The office seemed to stay busy all weekend with happy customers. Yet, Ben and Rachel continued to offer excellent customer service during all hours of the day. I appreciate the customer service, the location, and the excellent equipment offered during my visit. If you are planning a trip to this area, I highly recommend renting from Ben and Rachel at Mountain Meadow Adventure Rentals.

Fabulous snowmobiling tour! Ben and his son, Peyton, were great tour guides and the trails we went on were wonderful. Everything provided was top notch- new high end snowmobiles, bib overalls, jackets, gloves, boots, helmets, and goggles. Mid trip - Chili, corn chips, and hot chocolate in a warm and toasty shelter. Highly recommend for beginners or those with experience! Don't waste your time exploring alternatives!

We were in the Donnelly area for a wedding and had one day free to to whatever we wanted. We came across Mountain Meadow Adventures for snowmobiling. None of us in the group had down it before but it was such a blast! We rented a total of 5 machines. The staff was friendly and more than willing to answer any questions we had. The gear that was provided was clean and comfortable and most importantly it kept us warm since it was in the teens when we went out. The machines looked brand new and functioned perfectly. If you are ever in the area looking for something fun to do, look up Mountain Meadow Adventures. You will be glad you did!

I was able to setup a reservation with CMBR for a large group…read more This was for 15 sleds (snowmobiles) in early March. I did most of the coordinating through email, which was easy and hassle free. Upon arriving at the rental shop, we got some gear, if needed, and signed waivers. The gals working the shop were friendly, mellow, and had plenty of jokes! We drove ourselves to the trailhead (Francis Wallace parking lot). The parking area was a bit slushy, but we managed with two minivans - and some knowhow. Upon arriving at the lot, a tech went through a brief orientation on how to operate the sleds. You are able to sled right out of the parking lot and onto the trails. The trails go on what would be forest roads in the summer season. There are some stops to make along the way with great views and a snowed-in restaurant worth a quick drink. After a few hours on the trails, we returned to the lot where the techs collected the sleds. Afterwards, you do have to drive the helmets and gear back to the rental shop in town, but easy enough. I highly recommend CMBR for the courteous, laid-back service!

So..... our first attempt was horrible. It was 9 degrees that day and we rented 3 snowmobiles for a family of 5. My oldest is 20 so he had his own and we were about 45 min into our day when the machine started sending alarms and overheating. We tried packing it w ice and letting rest and tried to head back which ended taking about two plus hours . After 40 min and going only 1/4 mile we decided I would head back and get help . By now the snowmobile was smoking . I head in and they told me that there are no extra machine and started to walk away . There is no cell service at all on the whole route and even at the lot you start at . I'm like hey !' It's 9 degrees and they are stuck what are you going to do ?! I wanted to leave the machine and have 3 people on one machine and slowly head back but my husband was worried that they charge us for it . One of the two guys said he was heading out with a group and would stop for a minute and see if it's a quick fix or coolant. I asked if he could give me the coolant and he said there was only one . He had group of 3 people and they were newbies. Did I tell you one of my 14 yr old twins refused to wear his long johns even though we told him it was essential for 9 degrees. We starts heading out and his machine started smoking. He couldn't go any further. So I found rest of my family and they had to ditch the machine by the payette park sign . Once we were warm and in town I called . They were aware of situation and gave us all our money back no argument, they just apologized that made me respect them . It took us hours to get back . We started at 9 and it was noon before the family was back together at the lot. I was surprised when my family asked if we could try again so i called back and they hooked us up and gave a small discount and they also spoke to Burgdorf and got our money back and was able to reschedule our hot springs even though there were no appointments available. Yes I recommend this company because we had amazing time the second time and when things went bad they stepped up and did the right thing .

The highlight of the trip was the golf course and their excellent guest service, along with Patrick at the outside golf course bar. We arrived and learned we didn't get the correct room with any kind of view, and the ski lift is broken. I bought the trip insurance but I don't think it covers disappointment. The whole place is CASHLESS. Trying to buy a hot dog on the golf course was annoying as her internet wasn't working, but thankfully she let us play through and pay for it on our way back by on the 13th hole. The only place for dinner Wednesday was Seven Devils. You have to have a credit card to buy a beer and you have to pour it yourself, and pay for the warm foam. It's a ripoff. There was a kid sitting at the actual bar. We each had the chicken gyro that had overcooked, dry, stringy chicken thighs. Our server said she loved them but usually got steak. That option wasn't on the menu and no offer to fix it when we said the chicken was bad. Our beer was supposed to be charged to our gift card, but they charged it to our credit card. Rendezvous was supposedly open Thursday but we were told we probably wouldn't get reservations and we went into Donnelly to eat instead. At the "resort", the pizza place, the diner, and midway restaurant all closed. Didn't check the creamery. Most of the shops seemed closed. They advertise it as a resort with dining and shopping but that isn't the reality. There is no where for a sit-down breakfast. The coffee shop has breakfast sandwiches that are served on a soggy English muffin or plain bagel with no bagel upgrade option as they come premade and are reheated in a toaster over. Since our room water is brown, I wanted a coffee hopefully made with better water and real cream. The website says it's 99 cents for drip but when you get there it is $2.99 for drip. Our floor is sticky and dirty, which is especially frustrating since we pay so much for cleaning. I can't walk barefoot. The clock on the oven started flashing in the middle of the night, after I thought I had set it, and nothing seems to work to set it correctly. I had to cover it with a towel. We set our thermostat to 68 before we left for golfing and dinner, and our room was 74 when we got back and it has a funny smell, like flooring chemicals or something. Tried to turn it down our first night in the middle of the night and couldn't get it to work right then either. It seems very finicky. Our toilet runs constantly but doesn't make noise, just wastes tens of gallons of water a day. There is a dog that barks every time we come and go, but thankfully it is quiet at night. I have emailed the check-in office about all of it and have not heard back. I tried to call and there was no answer. I requested a partial refund and have not heard back either. For two nights our room (studio, not a suite), with no view, brown water, and a funny smell with a toilet that runs all the time was about $650 with fees. Our golfing with club rental was about $460. We spent a lot of money here and expected a whole lot more than what we got for over one thousand dollars in costs. Also, there is no where to buy bottled water after 7 pm. Sevin Devils gave me some in to go cups from the soda gun, but it had the same tint as our room water. I did find a water bottle filler that had a filter and the water looks clearer.

She was screaming and I was desperately trying to lift this 400 pound machine off of my daughter while screaming for help. Thank god my 6 foot 4 brother in law ran and tip it up so we could pull her out. Her leg was bruised but thank god not broken. The guid's response? "Oh, that happens all the time. They're built to tip over." WHAT?? Stunned at her cavalier attitude I'm like, "so this is a normal experience on your trips? Do you think you should do anything differently so this doesn't happen?" She's like "I feel like you're attacking me - we did everything right." No, Perry, you didn't. The safety prep was so inadequate - you never told my daughter to keep her legs on the metal footrests (I didn't know to tell her!) nor did you explain how often they tip and what to do. And this is what haunts me - after we'd been riding 30 mins I HAPPENED TO ASK if I should pin the kill switch to my jumper. Court, the male guide (who was super kind) said "oh yeah! That's important so if you fall off the vehicle stops." Friends, had I not had that on, my daughter might not have her leg. What a different experience that would have been if they had adequate safety training. "Hey these tip a lot - so here is how to safely fall so you don't get pinned. Oh if someone tips other people need to rush and help them tip back up. And here's the kill switch you must attach to your person so the vehicle stops when you fall. And kids, keep your feet on the metal footrests because if you dangle your legs bellow them your leg will get pinned." I will say I spoke to guest relations and they were very kind. Just empathy - they still charged us the 1k for the trauma, but I did feel like they really listened and took my suggestion of giving the guides a physical checklist to go over like pilots do before flights. Like I totally get that mistakes happen, but own them. Do better next time. Care if your families have a good time or a terrible time.
