@BrunoGiglioDDS... I need to share this unprofessionalism with you today!…read more October 1, 2021 Dr. Bruno Giglio Owner, Michigan's Dental Health Professional 4515 Metropolitan Parkway Sterling Heights, MI 48313 Attn: Dr. Giglio & Hollie Dear Dr. Giglio & Hollie, I am writing this letter today in reference to my June 21st appointment I had scheduled with you. On Monday, June 21st, I had a 3 p.m. appointment with you. I woke up sick that morning, and was planning on cancelling my appointment, however, I never confirmed the appointment and I know from my first visit that if you don't confirm you cancel the appointment. While lying on the couch, my girlfriend Lashanda Peters-Robinson "Talia", who is also a patient received a call that there was a cancelation at 3 p.m. (which was my time) and did she want to come in. She accepted the appointment and came in at that time. At approximately 3:05 p.m. I received a call from Hollie, asking where I was and if I was coming in. I stated "No, I am sick on the couch". I cannot recall what Hollie's response was, but it was brief, and we hung up the phone. At 7:54 p.m. I was shocked to receive a text from Dr. Bruno stating: "Listen, I know we are friends and all, however, you need to be nice to my staff or you're not welcome here. My staff is like my family and if you treat my wife or sister like that, I'd sock you in the nose. Flowers are nice, the girl that called was Hollie. If that's not acceptable, then maybe we should part now... Bruno" I have never seen such unprofessionalism in a professional establishment like this ever before. Your text was insulting, bias, and the claim was factually untrue! I would imagine that if someone states "I am sick on the couch" they most likely are not going to blowing kisses through the phone with an upbeat attitude. Further, Talia was there, and we both assumed she took my 3 p.m. appointment. Both Talia and I will no longer be patients with your practice because of this unprofessional insult. Enclosed is the $100 payment for the attached bill. If there is any remaining unpaid balance, please forward immediately so we can close the account. You should work on your professional courtesy and manners, and not assume your side of the story is the correct version.

But, after you enter wearing your mask, they give you gloves to wear. Each room has an air purifier with ultraviolet light. A standard cleaning involves a little bit extra work than before. You're first given a sealed container of mouthwash, since this will get rid of any bacteria on the surface before they begin. They stopped using a spit sink a long time ago, so they use suction to extract the mouthwash when you are done. Since it had been a while (too long!) since my last checkup, they also took X-rays, which are always more involved here than at other places. Instead of the standard 360 X-ray, they also do targeted X-rays of your teeth from various angles. Then, they did an inspection of the gumline around each tooth, and gave it a rating from 1 to 5. Three spots were checked on the front and three spots were checked on the back of each tooth. As you can imagine, the appointments take quite a long time. But, they're worth it. They find cavities as they are forming, so they can be monitored for future work. And the technology that they employ, plus the expertise of their people, means that they don't miss anything. And, everything is handled very professionally, and the people here are also very friendly. They are the gold standard for dentist offices.

I originally arrived at Great Expressions 2 years ago because I selected the wrong insurance: Delta…read moreCare and Delta Dental don't cover the same things, and my previous dentist wouldn't cover me. This mistake has turned out to be the best thing that could have happened to my family. Great Expressions always gives you an itemized price up-front for any care you receive. You can choose to remove a service if you'd like. My old dentist (Laser Dental Associates) never did that: they got your consent for treatment, then they hit you with the bill at the end. The bill always ended up being more than I've seen in the past 2 years with Great Expressions. No wonder why they didn't tell me the price in advance! Great Expressions has also always leaned toward what works best for the customer. I have a broken tooth that I waited too long to fix, so I went in yesterday. If this had been my old dentist, I usually had to make 3 appointments: 1 to examine the teeth, 1 to apply a temporary, and 1 to put the permanent fix in place. When I went in and had the tooth examined, the dentist asked if I wanted to do the temporary right then. Very refreshing! I was out of there in a little over an hour. In case you might think that this is a lesser practice that cuts corners to save money, this is certainly not the case. The personnel are highly skilled, the equipment is all new, the facilities are top-notch, and there are things that are better than my old dentist. The thing that stands out is what you do when you need an X-ray. My old dentist had this painful plastic piece you had to bite down on and somehow hold still while the X-ray was taken. Great Expressions has something similar, but there's padding on it, so holding still is not a problem. It's really no contest. No matter what my dental coverage ends up being, I'll be happy to keep taking my family to Great Expressions.

Well next time came when the tooth eventually broke and I had to go in. I made an appointment and they gave me a bill saying it was gunna be $732. I said for a filling? They said a crown. So I look up my insurance which covered 80% of my crown. I said something isn't right and have them call my insurance! They told me they would get the manager. The manager finally comes in and goes what's the problem? I showed him my insurance and what it covers and he goes oh that's an in house charge considering we mail out for your crown. I said I'll walk where ever you have to mail it to. He said no it's 440 to make it. I said no that's what my insurance does. He said no it's completely in house that we charge for the crown. So I asked if it was a scam and he told me "I wouldn't call it a scam". I asked for a regular crown instead of a special one and he kept telling me there was no such thing at great expressions. DO NOT GO HERE. they bill your insurance and then take your money on top of it. My fillings have fallen out 4 times because of these people on top of this issue. It's all a scam!!!!! They are AWFUL!!!!!! I switched and went to another dentist.
