While I had an expertly…read moreprepared return done at one Block office a few years back, when there was a flag raised by the IRS I couldn't get any coherent explanation about the issue when I returned there. Instead, I went to this Block office to help and I've returned every year since. I've been going to the office at Long Pond Road in Plymouth for five years now even though I drive by about half a dozen other offices, one just 3 minutes from my home! Same office, same preparer. My tax preparer is thorough, careful to triple check everything, explains it all in detail, and isn't taken aback when I land at her desk every mid-March with my big envelope of paper. This isn't free tax return time, this isn't do-it-yourself-online time: this is war and you want to win the battle! Ask questions and if you aren't happy with what you hear, switch to someone else in the office who can explain things better or look harder for deductions- whatever you need. You can do it in person or dropoff and finalize later, easy-peasy! You're paying less here than having a lawyer handle it, but more than a DYI return, so get the best you can for your buck. Oh, and there's a Friendly's a couple of doors down- reward yourself afterward! I already have my appointment set for next year . . . same office, same preparer!

He curtly informed me I owed taxes and when I expressed confusion and curiosity about how, as I haven't for more than thirty years, he sighed and became agitated regarding my lack of understanding. However, then she tells me she doesn't have enough time to do my taxes. And also that she will have to make copies of all my paperwork when I had in fact booked for a sit down meeting. She further tells me it's going to cost $535 to do the taxes. she started sorting through my very well organized paperwork mixing everything up. And she told me I'd have to leave everything for her to work on later. I said that wasn't what I signed up for and to please just give me everything back because I was not going to use them.
