This cute location offers a range of breakfast, lunch, and brunch options. Coffees and teas as well as juices are available. There are pastries and a full cooked food menu.
The atmosphere is cozy, and wifi is strong. There are multiple outlets, providing a good setup for working. Unfortunately, it's a bit loud between random beeping (ovens?), juice blending, and a somewhat disorganized staff having slightly angry-sounding loud chats across the counter. My experience would likely have been different sitting on the patio out front.
Toilets are gender neutral, win! My oat milk chai latte was delicious but small for the price. The bakehouse also charges vegan tax (upcharge on plant-based milks) of .20p. My oat milk matcha latte was less good; the matcha was quite umami and a bit too kelp-like for my taste. My partner's black pudding burger was tiny for £9, and my friend's baked brioche with veggies had a less than perfect bread-to-topping ratio (too much bread.)
Glad to have studied here for an afternoon, but not sure I'll be back. read more
