EAST BRUNSWICK: Brunswick Square mall recently became pet friendly and we love that you can shop indoors with your dog! Dogs must be leashed, and of course, be respectful of merchandise and be sure to take your pup outside for bathroom breaks. The mall is small enough to easily go outside to the parking lot. Individual stores have their own policies, so check with a staff member before you go in. We stopped by to get lunch and enjoyed the outdoor patios of both The Twisted Crab and Bar Louie. We popped into GameStop, Bath & Body Works, Auntie Anne's Pretzels, and Panera Bread has an outdoor patio for the pups! In addition to shopping at some great stores and eating at some nice restaurants, you can use the mall as a convenient place to take your dog for an indoor walk. This mall has seen better days. You kinda feel like you're back in the 80s/early 90s walking around this place. It's got that dated feeling in there. Macys and JCPenney are magically still around as the anchors. There are some stores, but nothing really to keep you coming back here. I mean, unless Express Factory Store is your forte. I'm not sure what will save the mall at this point, but it seems like some restaurants are keeping afloat here. There's a Panera, a Bar Louie, a Barnes and Noble, Red Robin..... The location is kinda tough. Just a lot of traffic, so it's a bit of a pain for someone like me to get there. In the same amount of time I spend on Route 18, I could easily be at Menlo Park Pall or even Quaker Bridge Mall. read more

Conveniently located on Route 18, Brunswick Square Mall meets my needs if I have to pick up something quickly from the Dollar Store or the Hallmark Store. Whenever I am here I grab a coffee and pastry from Panera. The parking lot is huge and free. Wifi inside the mall is also free and doesn't require a password. The vibe in the mall is chill. There's mellow rock music piped throughout and it's never been crowded or noisy when I have come here. This mall has a movie theater and about 60 stores and restaurants total, including Hot Topic, Spencers, GNC, Gamestop, Claires, Champ Sports, Footlocker, and Forever 21. It's a clean and safe mall that looks kind of bland with dated architecture. That's fine with me. Nothing special and no complaints either, so, three stars. read more

Very small mall. I am used to Garden State Plaza Mall and American Dream Mall near me, which are some of the largest malls in the USA. So, I found this mall to be too mall to stretch my legs. Overall, it is good if you are a local in the area. read more

Small mall with limited shops. There's not much traffic where either and it's probably because not many places for people to shop. However if you know what you want specifically and they sell the items you need, this may be the perfect place for you to avoid all other Mall shoppers and traffic. My family and I came here because of going to the amc movies. Sadly, we couldn't even have lunch here after the movies were over as with limited clothing stores, the food court options are limited. NJ is known for malls and has got some of the best and biggest indoor shopping complexes around. Brunswick Square can't really compete with the rest and doesn't have a whole lot going for it. The mall is down the street from my parents house, and the convenience factor has made it an ideal place to grab that last minute birthday card or pair of flip flops over the years. However, if you are looking to take a major shopping trip then I'd suggest heading towards Menlo, Freehold, Woodbridge or really any other mall that you can get your hands on. I'm not surprised to see that most of the other reviews for Brunswick Square read the same. The department stores are super weak. Your only options are a really teeny Macy's and JC Penny which both don't have nearly as much selection as their locations in larger malls. There's no food court either, instead just a couple of cruddy fast food pizza and Chinese joints scattered throughout. When I walk through the dull and lackluster halls (two halls, to be exact) most stores seem to have the same cheap and trendy feel. Every store legitimately looks the same. This is definitely not my first...or even my tenth choice when it comes to a day at the mall. However, because it's some of the only shopping game in town I'm sure I'll be making a few unfortunate trips here again. read more

I was really shocked by this mall, I was in the area and need to exchange something. From the outside it doesn't look like much since it looks kind of old however the minute you walk in its bright, modern and very clean. The mall is a bit small but it has all the stores you need and I was so pleasantly surprise by this mall that I even did a little shopping apart from exchanging my item. I went to about 4 stores and at all stores the young sales girls were all very nice and helpful. read more

I only shop here if I urgently need something from Sephora (located in JC Penny), Victoria's Secret, and sometimes American Eagle. If it's not urgent and I know I have time to go shopping one day, I go to a different mall that has more stores. I do not recommend this mall for browsing for long period of time. The mall is small and only has basic stores. I grew up going to this mall as a kid and used to love it. It's definitely gets less and less appealing to me as the years go by. I'm giving this two stars because it's not completely useless, and it's a good place for teens to loiter around. read more

I think it's odd to review a mall but here it goes. Its not a huge mall at all barely half the size of Freehold, Menlo Park, or Woodbridge. No food court but a bunch of stuff to eat. I grew up 1/2 mile from the mall so I've spent countless hours hanging around the place as a kid. Recently it has gone through alot of change adding a Tilted Kilt, Panera, and the movies were just renovated. The movies are now all leather recliners and $8.50 a ticket...$6.50 for students!!!! This is crazy! These are the any time any movie prices now and that's awesome. Seriously when was the last time something went down in price by $2?!...actually this mall just went from a 3 star review to a 4 for this reason alone. If you have 15 year old kids this is probably a good place to shop. They have Hollister, American Eagle, Old Navy, Aeropostale, Pac Sun, Zumies, and Against All Odds If your an adult they have Macy's, JCP, Express (especially if you love mens seasonal fuchsia shirts) and some other places. They have like 4 or 5 shoe places: Famous Footwear, Foot Action, Champs Sports, Payless For Moms they have a couple of Maternity places and a Forever 21 (but seriously give it up) If you come to a mall for just food they have : Ruby Tuesday, Panera, Tilted Kilt, Subway, random Chinese food, a Fro Yo spot, and a Pizza places that's waaaay overpriced as all mall pizza is. As previous reviewers stated, this is basic and small. I don't really frequent malls anyway because I would rather beat my head against a bed of poison tipped spikes than deal with the inanity of suburban America. My two stars is for the lack of security and stability that I've seen lately. Two guys were panhandling the other day, asked multiple people for money. No security or anyone of authority there to report this to. Do not like people harassing me, even in a substandard consumer hell hole. I have a feeling this type of shady behavior, combined with the outdated stores, will eventually render Brunswick Square unfit for human habitation (If a mall is ever really capable of such a thing). read more

This is an "older" mall, or perhaps you would say it has "character" if you were trying to be charming about it. There is nothing huge and flashy about it, but it gets the job done. For food there is a Ruby Tuesday's - so you can expect the glitz and glamor to be in tune with that - it will do for a Tuesday afternoon, but you probably don't need to put on your tuxedo to shop here ... unless you want to! read more

Please update this mall! The two stars are for the fact that they have a few good stores under one roof. The Macy's is pathetic, I can't imagine that this won't be one of the Macy's that they close and then God help this mall it will be another seaview square. The ruby Tuesday is now gone and I saw signs saying red robin and something else is coming and they recently added a panera and a tilted kilt so maybe that is a good sign. I'm not a big fan of the flea market type vendors they have in the center of the mall but I guess they are less annoying than the lotion people at other malls. The Victoria's Secret, express, old navy and bath and body works are smaller than most stores but good. There are some pretty obscure stores that don't really fit in a nj mall. It is definitely a great mall, for someone who hates shopping, and just wants to do a quick shop. It is also extremely easy to navigate as well. However, this store is going seriously downhill. Every time I visit, more and more stores are closing down, so it almost feels like the mall is closing itself. Charlotte Russe, Things Remembered, and Crazy 8 are all in the process of closing. Rainbow in the mall just closed down. The mall is dirty, but not smelly. Places to eat are very limited. The only place in the mall that you could pretty much get a good bite is Panera. Most of the stores are claustrophobic, and for the most part you will feel squished. This mall has no Abercrombie and Fitch, Disney Store, H and M, or most other stores you would not see at a mall. But, these 3 are the top that should open up. I suggest don't go here. Go to Menlo Park or Freehold instead. read more

Brunswick Square is a cute little collection of some pretty good stores. No, it's not a huge mega mall, but it does have some pretty good stores to visit and walk around. The restaurants surrounding (Red Robin, Bar Louie, Tilted Kilt, Olive Garden) are also good too. A nice place to walk around while waiting for a movie or just perusing through to look at the stores. read more

It's decent. I've lived in East Brunswick for my entire life and it's pretty safe to say that the Brunswick Mall is getting better. They added a nice Panera bread, a Pub/Eatery place and a few other stores to attract more customers. The decor isn't that great, certainly not as grand as Menlo Park Mall (which isn't even really that grand). They do have a movie theater with pretty good prices if you're a student. Food court (if you can even call it that) is small, but servers are friendly. They love giving away samples of the food. Shops there are okay. Their main department stores are Macy's and JCPenny's. They have a Forever 21, Express, Victoria Secret, Journeys, Payless and a couple of other good stores, but they don't have H&M. I don't know about the rest of you, but that's a huge deal breaker for me. Overall, it's an "eh" experience. Not much to remember. Check the directory before you go. There's a chance they don't have any of the stores you like there. It is only one story tall after all. read more

Not the best mall. It's what I know, growing up pretty much right across the street. If you need something quick and generic, like a pair of jeans or sneakers, then it's not a bad choice. If you have the option though, hit up Freehold or Woodbridge mall instead. The store selections are pretty limited here. Macys and JC Penney are the only department stores. Only two places to dine in, Ruby Tuesday and Tilted Kilt. A few smaller places to grab food though. Way too many shoes stores and this is coming from a female!! So you know it's bad if I'm saying there are too many!! If you're ready to get your shop on, this mall is not for you! If you just need a few things, I guess it's not that bad. Nostalgia, since this was my local mall growing up. Small, as in one level, but a good amount of popular stores, movie theater, and food places to eat. Sephora/JC Penny. Firestone nearby Forever 21, Hollister, Payless, Famous Footwear, Lenscrafters, Journey's, American Eagle, macy's/JC Pennys, Express, Charolotte Russe, Victoria's Secret, Old Navy, Zales, some children clothing shops, a hat store (if they still have it?), Spencer's, New York & Company, Sebastian's (haircuts). Ruby Tuesday's, Panera, Tilted Kilt, Charlie's, Auntie Ann's, I heard Subway closed down, Nathan's at the mall food court, some Chinese fast food (Wok?), pizza, Cinnabon, yogurt shop, candy shop next to the theater. Large parking lots all over, especially at the opposite ends of Macy's/JCPenny's, so you can't really NOT get a spot. Maybe you have to walk a bit more or walk through the mall, but that's no hardship. Parking right by Barnes Noble can be hit or miss, same at the movie theater or even Ruby Tuesday during weekend/late evening hours. By the Panera there are some other shops, one of them is a medical clothing type of thing, where I once found a Hello Kitty scrub top! Haha. And of course, the movie theater, with it's separate entrance. Over the holidays I know they have the Santa picture thing, and maybe the Easter bunny thing. Also the library book sale, which is fun to peruse. Really have something for everyone here -- whether shopping,movies, and food. Just to note: Friday nights, at least during the school year (I can't account for summers, because maybe kids have other things to do or are traveling with family), it has a lot of young kids/teens because of the mall/food/stores. Small mall and not to many stores but I enjoy the experience. I went with my baby daughter and her to use the family bathroom and one of the guards- Torres was there promptly. He was so friendly and made my experience a lot better. I felt a lot more safe and catered to. He was able to answer all the questions I had and I felt that he cared about being there. The mall is not that great, but i go there often because it is close. Most stores are very overpriced. I must say that it is very safe and I see security guards everywhere. But they don't stop things like teenagers running around. The movie theater is definitely the best thing there and the rest of the mall is great to walk around before a movie, but it gets boring after a bit. read more

This mall is alright. It's pretty small when compared to Menlo and Freehold, obviously, but a good place for teenagers to hang out and shop for things you really need. There's a nice movie theater attached to the mall, and a delicious Panera Bread located nearby. However, the only department stores are Macy's and JcPenneys. I would have expected a bit more. STAY AWAY! They allow stores that sell counterfeit perfume. Something you might expect when purchasing from the trunk of a car, but not from the East Brunswick Square Mall. My husband purchased a bottle of Flowerbomb for me for Christmas from Perfuroma. The box came wrapped in cellophane and all. At the first spray I new it wasn't real. Then upon further examination the secret service code included with all boxes of Viktor&Rolf Flowerbomb Perfume has been precisely cut out. When my husband went back for a full refund he was denied. Needless to say We will be taking this to the next level. SHAME on you Perfuroma and SHAME on you EAST BRUNSWICK SQUARE MALL for allowing a business to sell counterfeit product in your mall. read more

This mall is ok to get something quick, and to be in and out. I would not go here to spend the day. One major request I have is that they add a few more food places, like a nice salad place and a nice place to get a coffee and desert. You can not get a decent coffee or desert in that place unless you go into Starbucks in Barens & Noble. They need a nice coffee shop in the middle of the mall. Too many Jewlery stores!! I took a friend's daughters to the East Brunswick Mall last night and we had an awful experience at this second-rate dollar store simply and inaccurately named "A Dollar". As we scrolled the isles, the girls picked items up to examine them and ALWAYS put them back down the way they found them without me having to tell them to. But when the lady who worked the counter saw one of the girls slowly pretending to throw a Frisbee (emphasis on slowly, because if she was actually trying to throw it I would have stopped her), the woman was rude to the girl when she told her to put it back, followed us around the store as if we were going to steal something, and kept giving us dirty looks. Then she asked us from across the store if we needed help finding anything. I told her no because we were browsing and before I finished my sentence, she gestured to the door for us to leave. We weren't causing any trouble; we were only taking our time looking at their selection, trying to figure out what, if anything in this store, was priced at a dollar. I'd understand her reaction if we were loitering for half an hour or more, but we entered with the intent of buying something and were only there for 10 minutes, tops. To be perfectly frank, I also have reason to believe this interaction was racially motivated because there was a white family that arrived at the store shortly after we did and left shortly before we were made to. She didn't say a word to them, and my friend's daughters noticed. Had this been a review for JUST the dollar store, the score would be 1 star. read more

This is probably my least favorite mall in central jersey. There are never many people shopping here which leads to a very dismal and dead vibe. The interior of the mall also has a rather dated feel to it with many low quality stores. There isn't a main food court but there is a Charley's subs, Cinnabon, and Ruby Tuesday. I would suggest going to Menlo Park Mall unless you're just in the area and grabbing something basic. read more

This mall is great. It has a lot of selections and every store is filled. Every time I turn around, the tenant mix in the mall is getting updated. The Famous Footwear looks great, I love Forever 21 and they recently added Crazy 8, iFix and Repair, Panera, and The Tilted Kilt Sports Bar to the front of the mall. The theater is under New management and has leather reclining seats for about $8 a movie. The mall itself is very clean and has wide walkways. There is never an issue with safety. I suggest you go see for yourself, you will love what they have done. read more

The girl was snippy and rude because I wanted to exchange something she made me wait, apparently couldn't help because she had to singlehandedly keep people from stealing "her" merchandise.
