They carry a lot of the big three (MTG, YGO, Pokemon) but they also have some sports cards and other IP's like One Piece, DBZ, and Star Wars. They also have some rare comics and collectibles like Funko Pops. Their rarer cards at the front desk are priced pretty reasonably but it well depend on the market & availability. Don't expect to find many booster boxes, ETBs, or starter decks here though. The staff is pretty helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. It feels like they know their regulars and I always feel welcome unlike some shops where the staff doesn't even look at you if they think you won't buy anything, or silently judge you for not knowing something. Even on their busiest days they check on every customer to see if they need any help. If you're into competitive play they hold events in-store pretty regularly and they also hold release events.

I found J2Games on a Google search of places I could ship and sell my old games to. I went online…read moreand used their system to add my games, it was pretty straight forward and easy to use. The only note is the select shipping option can be a little confusing but just know after select the "Customer Arrange" button you can just keep going and there won't be any shipping label to print since you're paying for it yourself. It's really nice that they pay you back for shipping as well. Once I printed the the list, it showed my total being around $165 but they clearly state prices could change and that they will call you once they receive the items. They can ship them back for $10 if you don't like their offer. There were a few extra games I realized I had after submitting my form, and it was fine, I just added them in there. I also realized I put in a game that I only had a case for and not the CD... They're going to do a look through and enter it all on their side so it doesn't have to be specific. One thing they do highly suggest is that you take a photo of all your games in the box to mitigate and discrepancies. I shipped my games off, it cost me about $17 via USPS for around 25 games (1lb 8oz). Later that week, I got a call and email from them explaining that two of my cases seemed to have water damage (that's fine I think I bought them used) but other than that they offered me around $172 with shipping cost which is very close to the estimate. I kind of also note the game I entered that I didn't have and a few extra super old games for the difference. Overall, I'm very happy with this service. I was able to get rid of these games and get paid more than I would've made if I sold these games on eBay. If I have any other games to sell in the future I'd definitely use them again.

The store itself is relatively small, but then again, most comic stores ARE small. But do not be deceived, good reader. The number of books housed at Comic Relief is quite a lot! The owner is always courteous. But he doesn't say very much if anything at all. Which can be a good thing if you're an introvert, I suppose. :) Overall, this place is excellent for finding the latest releases and even hard-to-find variant covers. However, it's not the best for back issues or quality of issues, for that matter. If it hasn't come out within that same week, expect to find bent corners, spine ticks, and spine wear galore on most of the books. It's not that people are beating the books to hell. It's actually the racks on which they sit, which tend to be simple wire shelves with gaps in them, that the books fall victim to. The wood shelf system on the back wall is much more efficient. However, the way the books tend to be packed on those shelves can also give way to an epic collapse knocking several books to the floor in a matter of seconds. Yikes! And yes, I did see that happen on a number of occasions.

I went inside and spoke with the owner, who had just opened the shop. The first thing I noticed was how nice, neat, organized, and clean everything was. There's a semi-private room with about four or five tables, and there's also another space in the back that can fit a few more. The store has game shelving on wheels, and the owner explained that he set it up that way so he can move things around to fit groups of tables as needed. Tonight I came back with my friends for our game night. We usually get together about once a month at local cafes or other places and play games. Some of us brought food to eat, and others bought snacks and drinks that were available at the shop. We had a group of 13 people, and it was such a fun time tonight! The owner set up two tables for us in the back, just like I requested, so we had our own private area. He allowed us to play at the shop without a charge, since it's a new place. We all felt like this was such a kind gesture. Most of us actually decided to contribute some cash since we were there for a few hours. We also all bought drinks and snacks to help support the shop (like I mentioned earlier). We felt the snacks were a good variety of healthy (like organic trail mix) and junk food (like Doritos) and this would be good for a range of people's tastes. Later on, we split into smaller groups and played different games at other tables in the shop. One of the things I really loved was how we could move the tables around or choose to sit in the semi-private room. The couple who owned the store was so kind, welcoming, and accommodating. I loved how the owner mentioned that he disinfects the tables and chairs regularly, and the bathroom was neat, with plenty of paper towels and even toilet seat covers. I've visited other game stores in different parts of New Jersey, and some were not as clean as this one. I love to play games, but I don't usually buy them. While we were there, some of my friends saw games they were interested in. There is a nice selection of games from family friendly ones to more adult- oriented ones. Everyone had a good time and loved the fun atmosphere. The owner also mentioned they'll be hosting tournaments and events in the future. This new game shop is just a great place to visit, hang out with friends, play games, and maybe even find something new to buy.
