Been going to the gym behind the groomers for years, the dogs waiting to be groomed or just finished are being put in a cement cage behind the store. They are placed with other dogs and are constantly barking to get in. I've seen them out there when it's cold and/or raining. Not sure what's going on and I would never even think about bringing my dog there. read more

We took our cat to Brushcuts for a grooming which, explicitly, was for a wash, comb out and removal of any knots. She had a few bad knots that we couldn't easily brush out so agreed they could shave out the knots if they needed to. To our shock and dismay, we got back a fully shaved cat. They didn't consult us on the decision to do this and feel this was just an easy way out on their part. Our 19 year old daughter was the one who took her there so we're feeling they felt she wouldn't complain or say anything. We certainly won't be using their services ever again. My cat was completely out of sorts for 3+ days and our other cat was totally freaked out by her. He was afraid to go near her for several days. If they had consulted with us and told us this was required to simply remove the 3 or 4 knots she had, we would clearly have said no and would have explored alternatives. They never did that. Maybe their dog grooming is OK but do not take your cat there! Although, reading the first review on here, it sounds like they've done the same thing to dogs in the past. read more

Wow!These women are awesome! I highly recommend you these groomers.They were kind and very professional.Theyre prices are very reasonable and because of that it was no problem coming to Guelph from Toronto.We have bunnies and lm a nervous bunny moma,I felt they were very safe and would be well taken care of.Sue came out to meet us so she could access their needs and no doubt to help me feel comfortable in the process.Normally I try to support my own neighborhoods but if you have access to a vehicle then its a beautiful drive to lovely,skilled people who will take care of ur babes.Thanks ladies! read more

Make too many appointments at 8 AM leave you waiting outside 15 minutes or longer in a huge line up with dogs getting more anxious by the minute. Don't do what you ask, ie cut when you ask or cut too short. Make an appointment for you then tell you your not in there computer. Make your dogs toes bleed and sore. No wonder my dog hates it there !! read more

Open Letter to Brushcuts Pet Grooming --- I have a Shih tzu. Shih tzus need very specific and skilled grooming. COVID has asked a lot of dog owners who lack the grooming skills needed for certain breeds, so when my dog's groomers could finally book me in, and then even called me in early, I was so happy and excited she could finally get the trimming done that she needed. I went in so thankful for them being open, I was even talking to my dog in the car saying how beautiful she'll look and how I can't wait to tip extra because "groomers deserve it" after being closed for so long. I was very specific about what I wanted for my dog - I even emailed the groomer a picture of what I wanted and said, multiple times, I want as close to that as possible. The groomer asked me to email the photo so they could go over it with me. I said I do not want her cut very short. I want mostly her paws, back-end, and face trimmed, as well as the mattes behind her ears. I said, multiple times, leave as much length as possible. Exactly 4 minutes after I walked out of the building I received a voicemail (which I couldn't check until I arrived home 15 mins later) saying that they couldn't shape or trim her hair whatsoever, so they went ahead and shaved her entire body. Their excuse was "they couldn't wait for my callback so they went ahead because they have other clients." I understand you have other clients and are very busy after reopening. You should have put her to the end and waited for my callback. You also should have admitted you couldn't do the work, said "no charge, just come pick her up". Instead you went ahead and knowingly went against my wishes - and I know had I left her there you would have charged me full price for doing the exact opposite of what I asked for. I am filled with so much mistrust and disappointment. I truly believe you had no intention of ever doing a Shih tzu style on my Shih tzu. I truly believe you let me go on for almost 10 full minutes detailing what I wanted for her grooming, while in the back of your mind saying, "we're just going to shave her". I know for a fact my dog was not as matted as you say, nor did she need her entire body shaved. If you knew what you were doing, as a so-called "Shih tzu expert" I fully believe you did not have to do what you did. Even though my dog was finished being shaved by the time I arrived, she was not shaved evenly as there were small patches of long hair here and there. I understand the loss of revenue after COVID and the need to make up for that lost revenue, but you should have been open about the fact you are just trying to push clients through to make up the money. You invested no time in my dog. I am so sorry to my dog for what you did to her and I cannot stress enough - if you cannot do a job please be open and honest instead of trying to pull the wool over your customers' eyes with excuses and cover-ups. read more
