This review is pretty subjective (I guess they all are to an extent, eh?), but you should know off the bat that I really don't like coconut. So, it makes little sense that I chose to try the dairy free coconut-based ice cream here. I think I was just overwhelmed with excitement that they had a dairy free option. Long story short, I found the ice cream to taste like a coconut icee (bad) and the waffle cone left a lot to be desired as well. Someday when I feel like dealing with the consequences of eating dairy (I can't do it - lactose intolerance maybe?) I may try again, but for now Bruster's is a no from me. Charli (sp?) took my order last week and she did a fantastic job with my pumpkin caramel shake. Charli mentioned she'd love to be a barista, and I could tell just by how excited she seemed about making my order. Honestly, seeing her eagerness, towards making my drink, made me appreciate the shake even more than the delicious flavor did. Customer service starts by showing how much you love to do what you do, and you can tell the staff enjoy working here as much as we enjoy the ice cream. On another recent occasion (judge me all you want but I'm trying to enjoy the ice cream before summer is gone), I was served by Meaghan (sp?) and asked her if she could make some random shake blend with caramel and something else. She took my order without skipping a beat. Then, it seems my order broke the machine Meaghan apologized and said it was her first day. Honestly? I would have never known it was her first day because she handled my indecisive, and random order very well. Meaghan got Charli to help her reset the computer. In addition, Meaghan got the ice cream order set for my 2 dogs. Did I mention that they have ice cream for pups? Yeah! Oh, and the pups very much approve of the ice cream by inhaling it in seconds. Agh man this place is super! I've been here for my first time about a week ago and blown out of the water by there July's limited edition flavor. It's blue vanilla with 3 types of cookies in it if I remember correctly. Well I got the app and got $3 bucks off my order so that was sick! I returned the other day and was bummed they where out of it but only temporary she said. So she was nice enough to let me sample other flavors and I settled on the birthday cake mixed with pistachio and it was amazing but not as good as the other one. The staff here are great and service is fast and friendly overall I'll definitely be returning here in the future with out a doubt! read more

I am a fan of the birthday cake ice cream, because it has a cake batter base with sprinkles and icing throughout. Their ice cream is always fresh, creamy, and the perfect consistency. My husband and I come here a lot but we will be backing off. This location is inconsistent with their blasts and scoop sizes. My blast was under filled by an inch (I thought it would be filled to the top) and there was no candy sprinkled on top. So, I am partial to Bruster's. I grew up with the one in Bridgewater/Beaver, PA. Large servings, friendly service, abundance of homemade flavors. I stopped in on a hot Friday afternoon with my toddler after receiving an email alert advertising banana cream pie and peach melba. Neither were on the menu. I got one scoop of two different flavors, one being a kid's cup. I was quite surprised by how little ice cream I got in a regular scoop--it was the same size as my child's. Perhaps the started cutting back on their portion sizes, but certainly not the cost. For both, it was $5+. The parking lot is a pain to get in and out of onto Library Road, and the seating was sticky and in need of a good hosing down. In addition, there were two people in front of me being waited on, and I could hear (and see) three workers inside talking but none came to a window to see if I needed to order after making eye contact as I held my squirming toddler. With a Rita's and DQ down the road (Rita's has free kid's treat on Fridays), I think I'll keep my other options open. read more

I normally would come to brusters with my entire family and never have had any problems. The last time I went makes me thinks I don't think I would ever go back! The woman that I had for my ice cream was very sweet but the worker taking my sisters clearly didn't listen giving us the wrong order like completely wrong. We didn't realize until we went home. When stumbling across this we decided to call and say something to them about the ice cream mix-up the lady I talked to on the phone was the rudest person I have ever met. Acting like it's my fault. I normally wouldn't mind but in my case many people I know have very strong allergies to certain foods. If we got something my sister was allergic to would have been very bad especially sense she never knew the color or look of the flavor she ordered compared to the one we received. We ordered birthday cake and the lady gave us cotton candy. It wouldn't have bothered me as much if the place was busy but It wasn't only me and my sister were in line. As a frequent customer of this Bruster's, was disappointed on my mid-afternoon stop there on Memorial Day. Not only was the featured Peach Melba Ice Cream not available, but several flavors were missing from the flavors list. I settled for my winter go-to of Butter Pecan, asking for a single in a dish. My next unhappy surprise was receiving less than 1/3 of a cup of ice cream for which I was charged $2.50. I hope this was a mistake, the inexperience of the server, or some other error and not the new serving size. Everyone there agreed with me that such a small serving was not worth that price. I will go back again, but if this is the new state of affairs, there is always Dairy Queen a block away. read more
