Golden Oreo Milkshake, Two Scoop Dish with Peanut Butter & Cookie Dough and Citrus Rosemary, and a Strawberry Pretzel Cheesecake Milkshake
    Gracie D.

I first learned of Antney's a few years ago, and have visited a couple of times since then. It is a small, seasonal, local ice cream shop located near Green Tree. It is in a standalone building, but within a complex so there is a decent amount of parking. It is a true ice cream stand, with no indoor area and ordering at the windows. Very much appreciate that their ice cream is homemade. It seems like they rotate flavors daily, and are constantly coming up with new and unique combinations. Several times I have gone and they are switching flavors mid-day, so there is really always something new and different to try all the time. My most recent visit was on a very busy Sunday, and it took about an hour to be waited on from start to finish. The girl who waited on me was nice, let me sample some flavors, and gave recommendations when I asked for them. On this particular visit, I got a Golden Oreo Cookies and Cream Milkshake. Additionally, I ordered a two scoop dish with Citrus Rosemary and Peanut Butter & Cookie Dough. Additionally, ordered a Strawberry Pretzel Cheesecake Milkshake and a Pup Cup to-go. The items I personally had were good, and I liked trying the unique flavor of the Citrus Rosemary, though I did not get a lot of rosemary flavor in the scoop. My total for all this was around $26. Just a note, milkshakes cost more if they are a flavor that is not Vanilla Bean, Chocolate, or Strawberry. I previously worked in management of a homemade ice cream shop, and given my industry knowledge I do believe the prices here are high. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Other points of critique I have for this place include the lack of seating (no outdoor seating at all), and speed of service.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My primary critique, however, is that their hours are so limited. I likely would visit here on a more regular basis if they were open for longer than four hours a day (this includes weekends!). I also wonder if the pricing could lower if they were open longer, and therefore able to move more product. There probably is reasoning, but I am curious why college-aged workers could not staff the store during the afternoon in the summer months, and especially on the weekends. I would recommend giving this place a try - there is not a ton of ice cream shops in this area specifically, and it is locally owned. The ice cream is made fresh, and the variety and uniqueness of the flavors is noteworthy. Just make note of my points above, especially the hours.

Wow. I was looking for ice cream options around 20 minutes from my house to see what else was out there. Antney's came up, so I looked at their menu and reviews. After looking at both I decided to take a shot. We arrived around 6:30 on a Sunday. We waited less than 10 minutes to place our order. I had two scoops of Cookie Monster in a bowl, my wife had lady lock ice cream on a cone, my oldest son got a waffle cone and my youngest got their iteration of a blizzard. Their ice cream is some of the best I've ever had! There is no interior to sit. Prices were reasonable. I highly recommend stopping if you want a sweet treat.

Ice cream is yummy and there is always something new. Service is perfect. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's outdoors and there are benches where you can sit.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] So nice during the summer with plenty of parking.

Antney's is the place to go for frozen treats in Greentree. Love it!!! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Fast service, changing menu and great outdoor seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This is definitely a favorite summertime treat for me and my husband.

Found this gem while out in Pittsburgh and so glad I found it. Lots of fun flavors and ice cream was so good. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This place sits in a strip center and only has limited outdoor seating and no indoor seating option.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] You walk up to a window to place and receive your order. They were busy while we were there, but it moved pretty quickly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There were a couple of dogs there as well enjoying their pup cups![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Definitely will be coming back here!

I can't imagine anyone whoever had this spot doesn't think it''s the best in the area. Every single flavor on the menu that day was an absolute knockout. Make sure you keep up with their instagram because they rotate flavors HEAVY which I love. Will make the experience even better. Cameryn and I both got a scoop of the Dirty Banana. It was a banana base with Oreos and fudge brownie. Not overpowering in artificial banana at all and great ration of inclusions. The strawberry pretzel had a strawberries and cream base with pretzels and strawberry jam swirls for inclusions. Strawberry pretzel salad I never heard of until moving out here. This is actually my first every version of it and I fucking love it now Cameryn's other scoop was party time. It was a cake batter base that isn't like your typical artificial birthday cake flavoring. It tasted like you dipped your finger in actual cake batter. It had icing inclusion that taste like the blue icing on ice cream cakes, rainbow jimmies and piece of cake every other sample we had was all outstanding. Nothing missed. This is a must go if you haven't.

    Easter rice krispie flavor

I'm so glad I finally had the chance to try out the famous Antney's on a sunny afternoon after work. The menu was pretty extensive and contained a good variety of innovative homemade ice cream flavors. They have some of the usual suspects, as well! I was headed to dinner so I opted for just a single scoop of the Easter rice krispie limited edition flavor, though the 3-scoop taster option was calling my name. It was tough to decide on a flavor to try because everything sounded delicious, but I wasn't disappointed with my choice. The ice cream had a vanilla base with caramel swirls and rice krispie pieces. The textures worked together well! The staff were friendly and prompt. They got through the small, but constant line very quickly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There isn't any searing available, you order at a window, and the parking is located in the same lot.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There were several parking spots available, but it would be nice to have a couple picnic tables or something for the patrons.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The facade is clean and the business is easily identifiable from the road.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Antley's Ice Cream is a family-run and operated ice cream shop offering a variety of homemade cones and delicious ice cream.  Unique flavors that you do not typically find at other ice cream shops.  They have both soft serve and hard ice cream.  Tons of seasonal flavors also hit the spot.  They have frozen yogurt, sorbet as well as non-dairy vegan ice cream!  And of course they have a pup cups for your four-legged friends.  Tasted Lucky Charms, Cookie Monster, Spice Cake, Chocolate Covered Strawberry, Pumpkin Cheesecake and classic Vanilla , got two scoops- couldn't just pick one so got Lady Locks and Monkey Bread and took home Raspberry Lemon Cake, Dutch Coffee and their Raspberry Peach sorbet.  Service is very friendly and efficient.  They are located on Poplar Street in Greentree.  [[HIGHLIGHT]]A few outside tables are available for eating your delicious, sweet treat.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Deliciously adorable!! [[HIGHLIGHT]]This place is an old school ice cream shop with outside seating only, great prices, and huge portions.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There was a line, but they move right along!! Great little spot in Carnegie!

I can't believe it took me this long to get to Antney's! They have such a variety of flavors - I tried Snickers, Strawberry Pretzel, Lemon Cheesecake - all were delicious! I had to stick with my soft serve twist with Jimmies, sooo good. The soft serve is similar to custard, which I love! I will say, the line is crazy long & that took about 20 min & when it was our turn, we were at the window for 15 minutes between 3 samples, 1 soft serve twist & 1 BBT. Maybe that's normal but 35 minutes in line for ice cream is quite a long time haha. Overall, great ice cream & would stop again!

Unquestionably one of the best ice cream spots Pittsburgh has to offer! Every time I visit there are unique seasonal flavors that are unexpected and so much fun. Most recently I had ritz peanut butter cracker ice cream, which was incredible! Their service is great, so friendly and quick, and you get a ton of ice cream for what you pay for. There are a few tables outside but we usually sit in the car with our scoops and enjoy the treats in the air conditioning. The lines may look long but they move fast! So worth a visit if you want some specialty flavors and extremely good, custard-y ice cream.

We were down the street enjoying a great calzone and some beers and we kept seeing people walk by with ice cream. So when we left we found the place...we had no idea what we had found. Inside the two ladies were cheerful and greeted us with smiles. They gave us tastes of several different options and we each chose the one we wanted. Payment was easy and there were opportunities to stay inside if you preferred. The night we went it was a lovely and cool evening so we walked back to our apartment eating the most delicious dairy free ice cream I never knew existed.

Several great spots I know carry these ice cream sandwiches (Pittsburgh Taco Boys, Burghers in Millvale, among numerous others. I tried my first Leona's sandwich from the Millvale restaurant). Some supermarkets carry them too, I think. I had their lemon meringue ice cream sandwich. Man, it's really good. The sandwich part is sturdy and holds all the great ice cream together. The ice cream is fresh and flavorful, and quite sweet. I just really enjoyed it. Yes, decently pricey but high quality, so I think it's worth it.

I loved reading about the…read morehistory of the business and looking through all of the vintage advertisements and memorabilia outside the shop. My first thought after visiting was that I should have come here sooner, and my second thought was already deciding what I want to order next time. I am already planning to order the peanut butter soft serve with warm fudge and a warm cookie after being inspired by their chocolate chip cookie sundae advertisement and will need to ask about what the strawberry shortcake situation is all about as well. For years, I watched the long lines outside and wondered what all the hype was about. Sometimes you don't get it until you "get it" - and now I get it. Fortunately for us, there was barely any line when we arrived even though it was a hot summer day. Even better, it's only about a one-hour walk from my house. The service was also fast and friendly and the employee who helped us was pleasant the whole time which added to the overall experience. I was especially impressed by the peanut butter soft serve. The flavor was rich and pronounced without compromising the smooth, creamy texture of the soft serve. It was everything I would want peanut butter soft serve ice cream to be. I was also surprised by how many soft-serve flavors they offer. Most places have only a few options, but there was plenty to choose from here. That said, it's hard for me to order anything other than the peanut butter soft serve now that I know how much I love it. One thing to know is that they do not offer free samples because the flavors are made to order. Something else to know is that the small sized cone held noticeably more ice cream than the small cup despite being the same price - so if you can I suggest the cone over the cup if you want more ice cream for the same price. I originally chose the cup because my hands weren't clean, but I later realized the cones come with a plastic protector around them anyway. All in all, this is one of those places that lives up to its reputation, and I highly recommend coming here if you are an ice cream aficionado.
