I have been hearing about having to try Bruster's ice cream, over and over. A friend of mine and I finally went. I ordered a scoop of "salted caramel" ice cream in a cup for her. A double scoop of "death by chocolate" in a cup for me. Charged $10.65. We both had the same exact size. One scoop each. When I asked the young girl about it, she said no it's two scoops, "It's just really condensed." I will not return. I know I had one scoop. The ice cream was good, but that was about it. I do not recommend this place. They like to rip people off evidently. read more

This is really good handmade ice cream. The place is always crowded on the weekend nights and weeknights during warmer weather. When any kind of food place is crowded, it's usually a good sign. The ice cream is great, really love this place in general and love having it in town, BUT....the fact that they have 0 bathrooms for the customers is mind blowing. This is a place where you can bring kids, we brought my 4 year old nephew here yesterday and he had to use the bathroom so bad. We walked around, noticing the "no public use" bathroom, then went to see if we could use the bathroom next door but they were closed. Want traditional flavors? ...or fruits? ...or chocolates? ...or crazy candied kid stuff? any or all of that can be coned, cupped, sundaed, or otherwise got from the drive-up or walk-up windows. This is more a stand than a shoppe so be aware that besides the overhanging eaves there isn't any cover if the 'brellas are down. The double chocolate chunk is rich and creamy w/a choc base and dark choc chunks. The chocolate peanut butter is the perfect balance of sweet and salty, clearly made in smaller batches as you can see and taste the big PB ribbon. Mint choc chip should be called mint choc CHUNK! Seasonal flavors are usually pretty money. Raspberry truffle could be a bit richer (IMO) but the raspberry is pleasant. They give little ones free 'baby cones' in the flavor of their choice and they always include the pups in the fun. If you like a banana split, bring your own naner and get 1/2 off the price! My only complaint is for some reason it always takes forever to get your order. Don't these kids know the dangers of standing between a woman and her ice cream??? read more

We have Bruster's in Pittsburgh where I live so it was nice to see a bit of the familiar here in Lake Norman. They always have a ton of flavors-I highly recommend the Mud Slide which is chocolate HEAVEN or the salted caramel truffle which is both salty and sweet, fulfilling both cravings. This location is packed with dogs! Doggies can get a little scoop of vanilla topped with a doggie bone-so cute! The only negative here for me are the hours; 9pm seems quite early to close, particularly in the summertime. read more

But I must say, Bruster's is doing something right. They make all of their ice cream onsite. Seasonal flavors too, like Pumpkin Pie, Egg Nog, Cotton Candy....They are all good. They also have non-dairy treats too for all yous lactose intolerate people. My favorite to date, and I get this nearly every time, is the Banana Split. They slice the bananas into little pieces, hot fudge....need I say more?? Ok, I will, whipped cream, and a big salted pretzel stick. Oh, not done yet, and a cherry. We were in Mooresville for a wedding the weekend of July 12. I had never had Brusters ice cream but we kept driving by as most of the events for the weekend were on Williamson rd. The last day we were there we decided to stop. Turns out it was a great idea. This is what ice cream is suppose to be. The ice cream was cold, creamy and had lots of carmel and praline. Thank you thank you thank you for advertising frozen yogurt and actually having it! I was unfamiliar to Bruster's until my recent trip to North Carolina. When I pulled up it reminded me of Dairy Queen except with homemade ice cream. There were two flavors of frozen yogurt for my visit- Peanut butter and Vanilla- of course I tried both. The vanilla was similar to other frozen yogurts however it was a little bit softer, which I enjoyed. The peanut butter was excellent and I liked the bits of peanuts in it! read more

I love this place. I usually get yogurt and it as good as the ice cream is. Last year they had a strawberry tuxedo white chocolate yogurt that is to die for. I hope they bring it back this year!
