The first house we were "approved" for was around 60% of our income, and they wanted my mother to co-sign her properties onto it. They knew from the very beginning that this was way too expensive for us. After that fell through we were "approved" at 20k lower. Still the mortgage would have been over 50% and when that wasn't going through with the bank, they again wanted to drag my mother into it and try to get her credit card information. Which is when it really raised red flags for me. They waited until a few days before we were to close on that house, before telling us that the bank wouldn't approve it. We shouldn't have been approved in the first place! I was also notified that he sent in our personal information with escrow, which is against federal law. He told us that having the mortgage be at over 50% was not an issue. I don't know where he got he his licence from, but it absolutely IS an issue when you have 3 small children, and will be left with barely enough money for groceries every month, let alone bills and unexpected expenses. I can believe how careless and irresponsibly our case handled. Instead of being honest upfront, he put us through a whole bunch of unnecessary drama, and because of it WE lost out on close to 5k. For absolutely nothing. I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone. They engage in shady, predatory practices, and seem to have absolutely no shame in targeting struggling families looking to purchase a home. Horrible experience working with them.
