I really wanted to love this place, but it wasn't meant to be. It was a stone's throw from our hotel room, and my partner had his eye on the steak au poivre on the day we arrived. Four days later, we decided it was time. We stopped in during the late afternoon after a long day of walking around and exploring in the heat. The air conditioning was glorious. We were thrilled to see tinto de verano on the menu, which we haven't had since a trip to Seville. I got an orange soda, too. Both were delicious and refreshing. They told us they were out of the steak au poivre, so my partner got the salmon. I got a mini cheeseburger. We also got an order of fries. The fries were pretty yummy, especially with the house-made ketchup. The salmon was tasty, according to my partner. It wasn't special, but it was fine. I asked for the burger to be medium well. (Note: I usually prefer medium, but I've noticed that lots of restaurants here seem to err on the side of under-done, and I didn't want to risk getting sick while traveling.) The burger was sort of warm on one side, but mostly room temperature at best. It was incredibly greasy. It was also quite red and raw on the inside. I didn't love the mayo on it. It wasn't delicious. I gave up on trying to eat it and just ate the fries. I tried to eat my partner's salad since he didn't love it, but it just tasted meh so I left it alone after a nibble. The experience manager came by to chat and asked how the food was. I shrugged and said it was a little raw, not my favorite. They said it was very obviously underdone when I showed it to them. They offered to re-cook it, but it had already taken so long, and the flavor wasn't to my taste. They said they'd take the French fries off our bill. Odd, since we both devoured the fries, and it was the burger that wasn't touched. All in all, a bit overpriced for a really mediocre experience. We love eating in this park with all the restaurant options. We both were in the mood for a burger and fries. After being seated outside we both ordered a beer. It came out really cold and with a frosted mug. My wife ordered the California burger and I got the classic. Both were petite sizes. We ordered an order of fries with truffle oil. The burgers came out and included fries. We should have asked if anything came with the dish. The truffle fries were good but for me could have used more oil. Our burgers were delicious. Good beef taste and a nice fresh bun. Our waitress was very nice and helpful. read more

Fantastic burgers, fries and drinks. For ever burger they have a smaller size available. This is a nice restaurant - not a fast food burger place. They have take out but if you sit down, the service was very very good. The meat is great - cooked to order, seasoned correctly. Fries are fantastic as well. I've tried quite a few burger places in Mexico with not so Bueno results, finally glad to find a place we can re-visit when we want a taste of home. read more

I felt SO bad for her .. serving dull dry 10 dollar burgers with commercial bag chips that they claim are "home made" .. like they're saving money on fresh potatoes in Merida ... Don't bother eating here. I was told after we ate 18 oysters that we could not take home the remaining 6 oysters because THEY RE-USE THE OYSTER SHELLS. I have never in my life heard of a more disgusting or unsanitary practice (much less in a pandemic). The manager confirmed this to my face. I'm so disgusted. No comas aquí. We were craving a burger so came to this little restaurant on the perimeter of Santa Lucia park - while they have tables outside that are great for people watching (and getting hassled by the occasional vendor), we decided to sit inside and cool down at their air conditioned bar. It was happy hour so we enjoyed some nicely balanced margaritas while waiting for our cheese burgers. While I ordered mine to be cooked "medium" it came a little rare although this seems to be common in Mexico. Next time I'll order it "well done". The burgers come with very tasty home made potato chips. I'll be coming back here for sure read more

Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone! Our burgers arrived totally uncooked! Literally raw. We had asked for well done. We had taken a bite of each of our burgers and asked the server to replace them with cooked burgers. He brought back two burgers. When we lifted off the buns they were the same burgers with a bite out of them, except returned to the wrong person at the table. Disgusting that they re-cooked burgers on a grill along with other people's food after a bite was taken out. Is there no Board of Health in Merida? read more

Burgers are delicious, but they're a bit on the small side - they used to be bigger! Furthermore, they're 210 pesos and include "fries" but now you don't get fries - you get potato chips and ketchup. Really.. The service is good, the burgers are really good (for Mexico), the micheladas are good, but the prices are high. $12 for a small-ish burger without fries? Fuck that. I can get a better tasting burger for 160 pesos that comes with a huge serving of fresh fries. They also charge nearly 50 pesos for a Dos Equis.. I have no problem paying for good food but this is just borderline scamming. For 50 pesos more, I can get a filet mignon dinner at Apoala, which is also in Santa Lucia (the same park) and has high-end service. There's just nothing to justify that price, in this city, in this park. Especially without french fries. If management reads this and cares, please improve the value. read more

Bryan's Burger Bar appeared to be a fairly new addition to the plaza when we visited and it quickly turned in to the spot that we kept going back to. On both of our visits we enjoyed the outdoor seating. While you will be approached by people trying to see you things, it doesn't happen that often, and the outdoor seating is ideal for enjoying the Thursday night concerts, or just partaking in people watching. We were very pleased with the Happy Hour menu. Twice we took advantage of ordering chips & guacamole and it was the perfect item to eat when we'd had a late lunch but still needed something to eat for the evening. The Happy Hour beer prices were also very good - several beers were only $25 pesos. We also ordered a burger on our last visit and were very pleased with how it was cooked and the size of the meal. It also appeared that this restaurant was connected to the Italian restaurant next door, so we could have ordered a pizza if we wanted as well. The wait staff was very friendly and we were able to communicate by speaking English without any problem. read more

This place has good beer. The location is nicer though. You can sit outside in the plaza under the trees and enjoy a beer in the open air. The staff in the place is nice, explains the drinks and different types of beers well. read more

The staff is so friendly here. Really good margaritas. We didn't take advantage of the happy hour. Came here 2 days in a row because of the tasty margaritas and I ordered the petite classic burger (good option if you are trying to not overeat ) both nights! The truffle chips that come with the burgers are so yummy. I could eat them all day. We will definitely be back again. read more
