Despite being the "Hellerupuge" (jetsetters week in Skagen) we managed to get a table at this popular place. The waitresess told us that it would be an approximately waiting time of 45 min and we decided to wait and tried the loccal brewery's beer and some traditional danish snack in the meantime. The Krøyer pilsner was delicious and the Grillstarter (local ale) was very tasty and our "beery" hearts were in 7:th heaven. For snack we had was "flæskesværd" (fried pieces of pork skin) and baconfried almonds (yes, very danish indeed). After 30 min, our food arrived. We all had "Skagenskjud", which is fried plaice with remoulade sauce on rye bread with asparagus and shrimps. We ate under silence and we were more than happy about the choice of lunch. Awesome beer, great food and rustic atmosphere paced by a local cover band-supernice experience!!

Usually distilled from grain or potatoes, Aarlborg, from the northern areas of Jutland, (the center of Akvavit production) also has one made from Amber. It has a classic caraway hint with that nice burn of alcohol. The saying I got while in Copenhagen is: "You must drink to allow the fish to swim" Meaning you have to have enough booze to go with all the herring and other seafood you consume, especially with Smørrebrød. 90 proof packs a wallop so you can be sure that you will also be on the quick path to swimming with the fish.

Gayle and I came here as part of a beer crawl between Lunch and Dinner. Hence, this review only covers our "Liquid" meal. Inside is a cozy pub atmosphere where we ordered our drinks at the alter and consumed it while sitting at the altar benches. I guess you could call this our Bible Belt. :) I was very impressed with the beer selection, especially at the heavier (stout) end of the spectrum. I also left with a nice bottle of home made bitters to take home.
