She helped us again with Emalie in person when we picked up our new phones, plan, accessories and modem. They are pleasant and have great attitudes. They welcomed all customers as they walked in the door, even though they were very busy. The place was clean, organized and well stocked. They both had great knowledge and worked very well together. Joyy then took over the rest of our sale so Emalie could help another customer. Joyy had great conversational skills on all topics! Job well done Verizon for hiring these two women who compliment your company excellently. Highly recommend this Verizon after an unpleasant experience at a different nearby location.

(That's where they SERVICE existing customers, not here). The gentleman told me "Oakbrook" and Emalie asked what we needed. I told her, "I have Verizon phone. I have Verizon internet. I want to merge them onto one account." Emalie said, "Oh, I'm sure we can do that here." Take note, folks. Emalie LOOKS nice, ACTS nice, and there's no reason to think otherwise. Until you get home, and your internet drops 11x, and you notice that she DOWNGRADED your plan and ADDED A PERK (commission for her). You drop the $25 perk the same day (you caught that), and get some extra bandwith hooking things up differently in the house, cuz you know how, but now you have to go to Oakbrook anyway. If you go there, please, just (1) read exactly what you are signing up for, don't just sign the signature pad and think she must be honest, and (2) go home, go online, and make sure it shows the same thing with no perks you were unaware of. If you do those two things, then Emalie is still a snake, but you are sure she didn't get one over on you. She even badmouthed ALL the people at the Villa Park Verizon location, but I'm not sure how much worse it could be than getting scammed by the 63rd & Main, Downers Grove location.

They run off of cell phone towers kind of like a hot spot but using a MoFi Router Antenna system. We had them for a year and a half and the service was great! We could stream whatever we wanted, the kids could play on their X-Box and when Covid hit I had two people working from home always on the computer. No problem... until recently they had to change our service, they took away our unlimited data and put us down to 300GB told us they were sending us a new SIM card plus they were going to charge us an additional $20/month. What the heck!?? But what other options did we have besides At&t (we heard it's horrible downloads speeds are at 5mb/s) and Satellite? NONE!. We are unable to get any type of hight speed cable/fiberoptic at our locations. So we installed the new SIM card and couldn't get a connection and tried several times! I called and left messages, they said they would call back and never did. I emailed and they sent out a big letter stating if you are still having problems with connectivity then you need to get another plan depending on what cell service you have. We have Verizon so to get that one it was going to cost us even more $. So we went from paying $89/month now up to $129/month an additional $40/month. Another SIM card was shipped out. I tried installing it. No connection, I tried calling the company multiple times, put on hold for over 40 min emailed and they told me that my card wouldn't be activated until that night which was on November 12th, 2021 so we waited and we tried again on the 13th and again on the 14th and no connectivity. So I emailed the company demanding a refund on service and equipment. They only refunded the service because of course the refund policy on the equipments only goes up to 14 days after purchase. Even thought this was their screw up changing service on us and not even calling to try and help us out. And I'm so tired of companies saying "Unlimited High Speed Internet, oh until you reach so many GB then we are going to reprioritized you and slow you WAY DOWN. That's a flat out lie, you can't say unlimited high speed if you are going to slow us down. Such crap!! I would not recommend this company to anyone at this time. I don't know if they changed ownership. Before this big switch in service I could call any time and get a hold of someone. It's unfortunate that companies don't treat their customers with respect. We are the one's making you money.

Why do they have no systems in place?!…read more When one arrives, sometimes they have someone in front checking individuals in, other times, you have to track someone down. I am dating myself, but I remember back in the day if you were just dropping off/returning equipment there was a quick line for that. I had to wait 25 minutes just to do that, but the return process itself was only 3 minutes! Some customers were getting helped by both a mobile and internet associate at the same time which slowed things down. They do have a decent amount of staff working, but need a better system of helping customers. Tablet in the front? Check in on your phone? Something. There were some customers just sitting down because they didn't know to check in and they seemed upset.

Customer service should make customers feel welcomed and respected, but unfortunately that was not the case during my visit. The demeanor and tone were unprofessional and made the interaction uncomfortable from the start. Businesses succeed because of good customer service, and experiences like this can leave a very negative impression. I hope management addresses this so that future customers receive the respectful service they deserve.

Purchased an accessory online as a gift for one of my nephews, website said it would be ready by 10am, had a pretty free morning, waited around... nothing. called at 1pm was told to wait for a minute while they find it and within a minute it became ready for pickup. Got to the store to pick it up, was given an open box. When I brought it up to their attention they said that it was on sale because it's an open box, even though I purchased a new product online. Raul who was not a part of my transaction kept jumping in with smart remarks mentioning that if he received an open box as a gift he would be very happy with it, and that it was on discount because it was opened. Meanwhile, another employee in the peanut gallery chimed in that they often arrive opened directly from Apple. Lots of peanut gallery comments in this interaction while the person helping me was checking for another case. Asked for them to just return and refund as I'm really not a fan of the smart ass comments, one of the guys working offered to swap for a different color, I declined and they proceeded to attempt a return. It was just an attempt though as they claimed that their system would allow the return but it was not going through. They told me they could mail me a check weeks later but refund to PayPal was not possible. The person who was now working with me offered again to swap to a different color, at this point I just want to leave this place and their poor customer service so I accept the swap. Forward 20 min they can't do that either (not sure why they offer something more then once before seeing if they can even do it). Ended up there for over an hr and a half with one employee calling core and being cold transferred between departments and what seemed like an AI service agents. I'm glad I'm not a Verizon customer, it seems like this was a regular thing for people who place orders but aren't active customers. Overall Verizon is exactly what comes to mind when u think of bad customer service along with piss poor back end systems so that when you buy things from Verizon the back and system is too incompetent to be able to reverse or refund a transaction. I smell a class action lawsuit possible here but that's none of my business. lol. Ended up wasting an hour and a half, going to just dispute on PayPal and let Verizon recover their product. Worst case, it was a lesson which cost me more in time and patience then anything else. PLEASE STAY AWAY from Verizon if you are not a wireless customer of theirs.

I went into the store not expecting much but wondering about 5G Verizon Internet. The person could not have been nicer, he immediately said "yes, that's what you need and you'll have great coverage, because of your home's location. Try it--you have 30 days to decide, no contract, and modem is free with service fee of $40 per month." He assured me it would not affect the $97 a month bill we were grandfathered into (Verizon does not offer anymore) of 55+ older for two phones and that this plan would just add $40.00 to my bill. I returned to the store when my bill appeared larger, but it was because I called the Caribbean twice (oops). He told me to take a photo of the modem/router's bottom codes before installing it, which I did. I downloaded the app for Verizon on my phone, and it was up and running in 10-15 min. I connected it to my newer router, and instead of missing Comcast, I am in amazement! My download speeds are around 190 mbps download; 5 upload, and my smart TV now pulls tons of live channels (268 of them), along with the Amazon Prime I already had with HBO and Netflix I had ordered on it. I don't miss any cable tv channels, plus now my internet on my laptop is faster. I hooked up two TVs--an old Roku TV and my newer Samsung Smart TV. I will be saving $2000 a year in cable/net bills. Verizon forecasts my bill going down to $136 next month for two smart phones with unlimited data, text, and calls (in the US) and the 5G network for Wifi, so I'm happily leaving the Xfinity/Comcast train....literally from $225 with Xfinity/Comcast including "very fast" internet and Basic plus Netflix and HBO to $40 plus $36 with my own subscription to Netflix and HBO and now actually lightening fast internet. That's $241 to $76 for internet and cable. Amazing. That's a savings of $165 a month. How did I wait so long to switch?

My husband has gone in multiple times to fix it and spent over 8 hours on this mistake that a Verizon employee made. Every time we go in we have to retell the story, every time they tell us they can't do anything. We've been customers in good standing for many years, decades even but likely won't be any more. The customer service in this store is completely unhelpful. In the next year we will be adding a line and we WERE interested in the internet but without this mistake that THEY made we are planning on going elsewhere. Don't waste your time. The best part is that they place all the blame on a former employee who "wasn't allowed to give that deal." Sounds like a YOU problem Verizon and not our problem.
