We were in town on business in Moberly and the Mayor told us about going to eat at Bubbas. Angela and Rocket the owners welcomed us like the had known us forever! I just told Rockets to cook me his special.....The food was just great (especially the sausage in my eggs). We retuned a couple days later simply because Angela and Rocket and their personality, plus the food was really good. On Memorial Day we made our way to Moberly MO to visit my mother in laws gravesite. After spending some time reflecting and adding some new flowers we needed a bite for lunch so looked up some local fare Not much was open, but thankfully Bubbas was serving up lunch. Just off the main downtown drag you'll find Bubbas Burger Bar and Egg Emporium. It's 100 yrs old and the current owner, Angela, has been operating this joint for the last 20 yrs. Megan, who was just as sweet as pie, took our order. We got a double cheese burger, a decadent chicken sand and fries and onion rings. Think classic American diner and you'll be spot on. The hand cut fries were awesome, the rest was solid. Some patrons next to us ordered pop corn chicken and taco salads, the guy around the corner had an open face chili burger which looked pretty awesome. Speaking of pie, they were serving up Apple, Chocolate and banana. We were full so passed on the dessert. Bubbas is a hometown spot, frequented by regulars, you'll be welcomed and served up some classic food goodness. I'll hit it back up when we find ourselves in town. read more

Super yummy food, although dear god I wish they'd salt things. I ordered the baby bubba with jalapeños (aka "with attitude", which was delicious (but definitely could have used some salt in the chili), and some fries and onion rings. The fries are handcut and fried to perfection. I love a good crisp fry, and these are great. They do not add any salt, so if you're ordering take out, be sure to sprinkle some on before you leave. Once seasoned, the fries were divine. Onion rings were your standard frozen fare, with a too-thick batter (and too thin ring), so I don't think I'd try them again. This is a solid spot to try if you're in Moberly (and you've already worked your way through Black Market BBQ's menu, lol). read more

You have to try the Hubba Bubba which is a chili burger with sauteed onions and jalepenos if ypu want, served open faced on a grilled bun. You cannot beat their pork patties either. And the pies! Everything is so good here. Never been disappointed in anything I have ordered. Check out their daily specials too. read more

I eat here at least once a week. Breakfast is made to order, the portions are generous, and they use really good bacon. At lunch, the daily specials are comfort food (today is a Sloppy Joe and bowl of potato soup), the burgers are made fresh to order, a full order of fries is enough for two, and the Decandent Grilled Chicken sandwich is the best grilled chicken sandwich I've ever had. If you are feeling adventurous, order the Hubba Bubba, a double cheese burger served open face, smothered in chili and shredded cheese, with grilled onions and jalepenos added if you order it "with attitude". It's a horseshoe shaped lunch counter with bar stools for seating, but the advantage is you see your food being made. It's been in continuous operation for over 100 years, so you know they're doing something right. read more

Looking for a great hamburger, Bubbas is a great place. It has the charm of a burger place from my past and my wife and I enjoy going here when the burger urge hits us. The service is good and the food is served right off the grill so it is hot when placed in front of you. You can even watch as the food is prepared. Now there is only counter seating so sometimes it is a little crowded, but it is worth the wait. My wife's favorite is the single burger with fries. I love the Bubba burger or Baby Bubba. One or two patties topped with onions, chili and cheese, I also go with the jalapeños. read more
