We tried out one small drink to start: Oolong Milk Tea, 16oz, Iced, Whole Milk, 50% Sweet w/ Boba ($6.24) - This drink has a very smoky toasty flavor that gives a pop of flavor over the whole milk. At half sweet, there's a bit of harshness from the fructose but it works in unison with the tea and doesn't hide any of the smoky tea aromas. The whole milk doesn't add any milky flavor either. It's a pretty standard drink but very good for the area. The boba is smooth and sweet, clearly having been marinated well. They aren't spherical and instead kind of lumpy but the texture and flavor are good. The texture exhibits a very pleasant bouncy chewiness. My husband and I ordered the spicy chicken cubes, eggplant with garlic sauce, and rare beef pho. The stir-fries were outstanding--the chicken packed a punch with spice and that wonderful numbing kick from Sichuan peppercorns, and the eggplant was fried to perfection with crispy edges, just like a dish I loved growing up in China. My husband enjoyed his pho as well. The kitchen was clearly overwhelmed with online orders, so they weren't able to prepare some of the authentic dishes from their "secret menu," but what we did have was excellent. He ordered their avocado toast with egg, which I had never ordered before. He insisted I take a bite, which I graciously agreed to do. Luckily I found Mochi Donut House on the Find Me Gluten Free app and they were open until 5? 6? this past Sunday. We got 6 donuts - 2 ube, 2 pumpkin, 1 sugar and 1 pandan about 45 minutes before closing. They were a tad on the oily side, but that may be because we went after they had been sitting awhile.
