My neighbor warned me about Buck's, but I went anyway because of their loaner car program. They were keeping my car for several days, and I had to get to work. I needed a new radiator, but they also replaced the perfectly good original electric cooling fan with a cheap aftermarket. This replacement fan had a terrible vibration which caused it to roar like a Harley every time it kicked on. I took it back, and they replaced it with one even worse! It was so loud, that I could barely hear my radio! Then that fan failed me while I was on vacation. The mechanic who replaced it told me that whoever installed it did not put in all six mounting bolts.He left the two hardest-to-reach bolts out, which caused the loud vibration. Replacing that thing cost me $480 and screwed up my vacation. I'll never go back to Buck's again, loaner cars or not. I'll simply take time off from work if the next repair requires it. I made an online appointment for an oil change for Monday morning 4/22/24 (2 days prior) to the appointment. I arrived before the 8:00 am appointment and was told there's a 2 hour wait. The wait, I was told is due to phone call appointments made Monday morning and those appointments took priority. In my opinion, the counter person made a bad discussion that cost them a new customer that lives across the street and this negative review. read more

Not a good experience. Bought tires here a while back and was fine, but recently brought my vehicle for a simple oil change and replace 2 tire pressure sensors in prep for a road trip. $250+ later, I left and on the highway the vehicle was shaking violently. They obviously did not balance the tires they worked on properly, or not at all. When I brought it back, they said it wasn't their fault. I left it and they called and said it they wanted to charge $60 to balance them. I will never use this place again and will be contacting Good Year. They obviously don't care about their customers or reputation here, and there are lots of other places that do. I made a mistake coming here, only because it was convenient. read more

Had a major problem with power steering fluid leak on my Trailblazer. Brought in the car and right away they did a thorough inspection and explained what they found and what needs to be done and what it would cost. Left the car with them and picked it up the next day. The car had all the power steering lines corroded and leaking like a sieve since it was through winters up north. These guys are a family owned business for over 40 years, polite, honest, and you definitely won't be taken advantage off. I just moved to North Port and it was really important to find a mechanic that you can trust. read more

Being new to the area, this was my first time at Buck's. Frankly I chose them based on comments placed on this site. So I wanted to provide feedback for those who may find themselves in my position and to give credit to Brandon and Marty at Buck's. The air conditioner on my 2008 Ford F-150 stopped throwing cold air. With a Florida summer on the way, I needed to get my a/c repaired. It's easy to get scammed when it comes to a/c as unscrupulous shops will tell you "it's the compressor" and you're into it for over a $1000. Not Buck's! After diagnosis, Brandon explained it was a malfunctioning valve stem. He had the part in stock and in a little more than an hour my a/c was working beautifully and the price was very reasonable. My key message is this is a repair shop you can trust. They'll be my "go to" garage from now on. read more

Not honest at all! Want $1000 for a $150 repair. Extremely disappointed. Got two other estimates to verify.

Out of towners, on our way to the beach early morning when the Jeep started overheating significantly. Limped to Buck's where Brandon predicted the problem, gave us an estimate and provided a ride to Enterprise for a rental. By 5:08 pm, the Jeep was fixed, and the price was exactly as quoted, and they waited for us to get there. What could have been a terrible experience was averted by Brandon and the team. Excellent service and always try hard to accommodate "emergencies". My experience has been that all of the repairs (a variety) that this business has done for me have been top notch. They deliver value. Not only are the staff knowledgable, they are willing to take the time to discuss the needed repair and any options if available. The advice and service is honest, but If you're looking for the cheapest repair shop (spend the least amount possible on your ride), you won't find this business fits your criteria. read more

Brandon and the crew at Bucks do business like it should be done. Friendly, professional and honest. Example: My Wrangler had steering problems, while some folks would just install replacements parts, they took the time to really inspect the system and what could have cost several hundred dollars came down to tightening one bolt. No charge. I recommend them highly. read more

I have gone to Buck's for years for my tires, and other things over time. I am retired now and don't drive many miles anymore, but my husband noticed it was past time for new front tires. We took it in and Brandon waited on us. He recommended all new tires, but I could only afford to buy the front tires at this time, I noticed he had an attitude, but I just thought he was having a bad day. We have had a lot of other expenses lately unfortunately so my budget is tight right now! I made an appointment to get my front tires put on, they had to be ordered so it was the next day. Everything was fine I thought until I picked up my car and it immediately threw the weights that keep the tires balanced. I had only went a couple of blocks, so I turned around and was told I would have to make an appointment for the next day. I brought my car back the next day to have the tires rebalanced. Well you can probably guess what happened again, the weights fell off again, so I called Brandon and he practically called me a liar, and said it was probably a rock that I heard, and that he WAS NOT going to keep rebalancing my tires. My husband and I crawled under the car ourselves, and the weights are gone. The adhesive is still there, it stuck just fine, but not the weights. Brandon offered to do the wheel balancing ONE more time, but needless to say I am not going back there. They used to be a great place to deal with, but I don't deserve the attitude I got or the very bad service. Note: My car is older, it's not a BMW, there was greasy footprints on my carpet and floor mat, and one valve cap was missing. We cleaned the carpet ourselves.
