He went with Newman. Subsequently we had a hail storm and neighbors were advising us to get our roof checked out. Our roof was 20 years old. I wanted to be honest with the insurance company and not submit a claim unless Tyler from Newman,who came out to give us an estimate, was sure we needed a new roof and we suffered damage beyond normal wear and tear. Plus we had 2 houses. Well one needed a new roof and the other one likely has another couple of years left. As an aside, if you turn in a claim to your insurance company, even if it is denied, you risk higher premiums or cancelation. That is why it is important to have Newman Roofing spend time assessing. In our case, our roof was more wear and tear with minimal hail. Dan and his guys were on time, even early. Weather has consistently been in the mid 90's. I was worried. But Newman keeps them well supplied with hydration. 14 man crew meant lots of vehicles, even a dump truck but they were minimally disruptive to our neighbors. Furniture moved, netting put up to minimize construction mess on house and garden areas. And then they went to work. All I can say is WOW. I am so pleased. When they were finished, the cleaned up all the mess, including using a magnetized thing for nails in driveway, patio and grass. The yard, the patio, the driveway, the porches are SPOTLESS. I would only accept highly rated companies with good reviews and an A+ BBB rating which came down to ~4 companies. I had planned on getting a few estimates and going from there. I honestly don't know why I chose to call CWS first, but I did, my call was taken by a wonderful lady whose name I cannot recall but she scheduled me immediately with Jeff. Well, I'll tell you, Jeff was excellent, he gave me honest assessments and helped me figure out what I needed, not what he could sell me. I had several requirements which he listed to and gave me honest, educated advice for all of them. Several weeks later my materials had been delivered, and we set up the date. The crew arrived on time and went straight to work after a brief conversation; I believe the crew chief was Daniel. The crew did an excellent job and listened to all my concerns, I had zero issues with them, they were great and did excellent work. In closing I will say, for the siding work I had done, and I've had siding done twice before, these guys were the best by a mile. The way these guys work is just amazing. They get there early and I mean early. Today they finished up the corn crib. They were there at 6:15am. It was not even daylight and they were working with lights on their head. The way they work in general is nothing I have ever seen out of any roofing company. One guy stays on the ground and is constantly cleaning. The other guys work their behinds off and take a very small break about 9am. Then lunch at noon which I am not sure was a half hour. Did not seem long and then a small break at around 3pm. They work and stay at it. There is no messing around or sitting around. They are all very nice. I had a couple questions and the one guy that was the foreman was very polite and nice and answered my questions. They cut a screen on one of the windows taking down the old shingle roofing. They took out the old screen and had it replaced in 1 day. No extra cost and nothing but an apology that it happend. Things like this happen, but they apologized for it. Not many people own up to anything it seems. I would and have recommended this company to anyone that listens. I would definately use them again if we ever have a building built that needs a roof. Right now everything on the property is brand new roofing. And it is Harford Green and beautiful. And I forgot to mention they clean up everything after the job is done. I think I only found 5 nails after the house, porch and garage roof were done. Did not find any after the barn was done and have not checked today for nails now that the corn crib is done. But I can tell you I would be very surprised if I found more than 2 at the most. These guys are great and the work is guaranteed.
