Because the escalators are shut down. Kid K loved it. I got a card with one of the "bulk discount" levels and we (mostly she) played for about 45 minutes on I think $35 (gets you $43.) Pretty good games; she liked the Minecraft shooter the best. Ended up with enough tickets to get a little candy. We'd come back.

At first the refused to open the snake bar for my guests bc they was understaffed until I complained. They made my guests move tables but nobody was sittin there. And we could never find anyone. Still cheapish bowling with an arcade and laser tag. Kids had as much fun now as we did back in the day. Great, old school westside staff. The food now was surprisingly very good. The chicken tenders were super hot and fresh, as good or better than you'd get at any restaurant (like caines, cough) the hand cut fries were great. We got pizza for the kids and it too was better than expected. Really liked it.

The party included a kids table set up with plates napkins and a table cloth some soda and pizza. The pepporoni pizza was pretty good for a skating rink. Miya did real well hosting especially since it seemed she was responsible for multiple party's on her own. We waited maybe an hour for pizza, allowing guests to skate a nice amount before eating. Miya also helped light the candles and hand out pieces of the cake. I would book another party here for sure.

Kid K's school had an event here, not private, but a school skate on a Saturday morning. Along with many other groups. You've seen the place along 71, relatively easy to get to, big parking lot packed with cars. I've never been because I didn't grow up here and it's overwhelmingly a kid's place, but I know it's been here forever. Easy check-in (I bought tickets online through the school event site,) and great service at the ticket counter and at the skate one. Easy to get skates, free wrist pads, and $5 for "walker" thingies for beginners to lean on while learning (very helpful, wish they'd had them when I was a kid and coulda used one when I had knee surgery.) I loved to rollerskate when younger, and even did it a few times as an adult, but that was 30 years and 2 knee replacements ago. So, we brought along a high-school age family member to help K. I helped some on the carpet, and you can walk on the rink in shoes so I did some of that too. K loved it, even put up with the falls (which are just a normal part of learning, of course.) Hanging out with friends, listening to music, and learning a little on her first time skating. The place is clean, there are plenty of places to sit, there's snacks (for outrageous prices,) there's laser tag and arcade games and other entertainment. The noise is overwhelming. Not from the kids, really- from the PA. Music was loud enough you have to yell to talk. And then the announcements... Loud and distorted and almost painful. Really awful. Bring earplugs. Not kidding. My ears are still sore from the assault. But, look: kids will have fun. Eat before and after. There is a drinking fountain so they will survive. Definitely use the pads and walkers, and wear cushy pants. Bring earplugs. Enjoy a little nostalgia. And look forward to the time they announce that your skating session is over.

I really like the fact that the place is well-staffed because there are a lot of opportunities for bad things to happen. With so many employees on hand (and friendly and helpful as well!), I didn't feel like my kids were in danger. The majority of the activities are for kids older than my own, maybe for ages 5-12? My 3 year-old could do some of the obstacle courses and the small kids' bounce house. My 17 month-old could do the small bounce house and I took her down two of the slides, but it was not easy to get up while carrying a small child. There are many bounce houses and inflatable slides, a trampoline, a small laser tag maze, and other related things. There is also a small children area with giant blocks and childrens' toys, but not much else. I thought $9 was a bit steep for two hours (or less) of play and was surprised they don't have longer periods of play time. But my daughters enjoyed their time there and I would probably go back when they are a bit older. It's worth checking out. As I mentioned, the staff was great and made my daughters' experience great.

The arcade has a nice selection of games. The place is generally a bit run down, but in a way that's more charming than off-putting most of the time. My most significant gripe is that arcade machines don't seem very well maintained. There have been times I've gone to this place where 25-50% of the games weren't working. This is especially frustrating because the machines are often not roped off, so they eat my tokens when I try them. Overall, if this place was more expensive, it'd be a skip. But if you can get a Groupon, you can have a lot of fun for a very reasonable price. I'd recommend checking this place out!

Manager Josh especially was so kind and helpful to our party of 9. Overall, I think the adults had more fun than the small children.
