I met an incredibly kind, gracious, and generous man today. I have Lou Gehrigs disease and I drive…read moremy van from my powerchair. For the times when I need someone else to drive me, there is a plug that connects to the back of the regular driver's seat that allows anyone to drive the van. This plug was bust with loose wires. A random google search of electricians brought up Leitner Electric where I left a message. The next day I got a call from Mr. Perry asking how he could help. His tone was very friendly and I was amazed at how he carefully listened to what I needed and said he was willing to try to help me (even though repairing a plug in a disabled van was not in his scope of work, I bet!). While waiting outside his office this morning I was reading about Leitner Electric and discovered that Mr. Perry is the CEO of the company! There was a heavy drizzle as I waited and a minute later this person comes out in a rain jacket, introduced himself and got right to work. He got things working almost immediately and to top it off, he re-taped all the wires and neatened up everything. After the job was done, he noticed that the air pressure in a tire was low. He went to his car and got a tire inflator and filled my tire. Then I could not believe it when he went around to the other tires and checked the air pressure in the remaining tires. They were all low. Talk about going above and beyond the call of duty. One of his employees came out toward the end while Mr. Perry was checking the air in my tires and he said that Mr. Perry was the best boss ever; hands on and leading by example. At the end of it all, we exchanged a hug and I was off! No mention of a charge (the van shop had quoted a 2-hour labor charge of $300 with no guarantee that they could get it to work). I felt Mr. Perry was almost thanking me for giving him a chance to help me! He likes to make people happy, he said. Check out the reviews on the Leitner website! The almost perfect reviews are reflective of the man and his work ethic. It's a no-brainer to choose Leitner and Mr. Perry for any electrical work - a master electrician and a large-hearted man. Thank you, Mr. Perry.

He recommended I contact Mr. S's sister co./Ben Franklin, so a plumber could find & suggest running a gas line to my range, & he said they'd be able to see his notes. I paid $139 for this visit. His own notes are factually incorrect. The invoice even says "DIAGNOSTIC AFTER HOURS" and Mr. Sparky's technician failed to correctly diagnose the issue, so I didn't get what they charged me for. On 10/9, the Ben Franklin plumber came for 5 minutes, said there wasn't a simpler or cheaper option thru a gas line & left with another $139. On 10/10, Bryant HVAC& Electric came by: the Bryant technician fixed the issue in 45 minutes, for $225 TOTAL. The real problem was that I needed a new junction box installed where the existing Wadsworth panel was. My electric range immediately started working. I am horrified by how Mr. Sparky tried to scam me, & got me to pay another $139 after-hours fee to profit a sister co. If this isn't a scam preying on single, female, minority homeowners, then it is EXTREME incompetence. I have shared my experiences and the e-invoices with my male colleagues & friends, they're all shocked but their unanimous opinion is "I think Mr. Sparky tried to take advantage of you because you're a woman." I have instant messaged, completed a survey, and called requesting refunds for BOTH fees of $139. I have the invoices from Sparky, B.F. and Bryant documenting how dishonest Sparky was/corroborating the vastly different work scopes & costs. NO RESPONSE FROM MR. SPARKY CINCINNATI, probably bc this is how they "train" their people: To price-gauge, mislead and lie. It absolutely chills me to the bone that I was going to have so much damage to my garage and basement and be out almost $4k for THE WRONG DIAGNOSIS. I feel like I need to share these invoices and warn others of how BAD my experience was. Absolutely awful, AVOID MR. SPARKY CINCINNATI AT ALL COST. Mr. Sparky shouldn't get to avoid accountability or neglect its duty to its customers by hiding behind anonymity.

The outlet needed was a NEMA 14-50 with conduit that supported 50amp and up to 60amp. This outlet was solely for the purpose of charging an electric vehicle. Advanced Facilities requested information regarding our household appliances, such as the Microwave, Garbage disposal, Stove, Heat Pump, among many other things. All we requested was an outlet. We received a response on 09/29: "This information is needed in order to provide the Inspection Authority the load calculations for your residence and for the addition of the EV charger and ultimately, their inspection." Why this information pertains to us and the outlet is beyond me. I would have gotten to know more if we hadn't then received a follow-up email that stated: 10/19: "Gents, We still await IBI's response to our submittal of your load calculations. They are painfully slow, and unfortunately, we can't force the issue. We'll contact you as soon as we have word on progress." After consulting some other electricians and doing some research, we discovered that we had been waiting far too long. We sent an email: 10/27 "IBI has had over three weeks to do what we understood should take a relatively minimal amount of time. Are there any steps we can take while we wait, or is there another route we can go at this point to move forward?" This was then followed up with: 10/27: "Gents, If we did move forward without an approval from the inspection authority, and they, after the fact, deem the work unfeasible due to the size of your service, or other issue, it will be for nothing. I will call them and see just what the hold-up is....and I agree, this is indeed taking too darned long. I'll be in touch." And then on 10/30: "Gents, I have been wading thru the bureaucracy at IBI this morning.....hope to have an answer soon. I'll let you know as soon as I get word. Just wanted to make sure you're kept in the loop. We were never kept in the loop. It is now almost December, and they never got back to us. DO NOT RECOMMEND.
